As RS pointed out there is no remorse or shame in her for the overconfidence that she is infallible and even when she she failed miserably others must endure it. There is not an ounce of remorse or empathy towards Shika.

People don't need to have a caustic tongue to evoke alienation. Surekhas own doings and thought process will alienate her.

Yes, definitely. The way she behaves with the rest of the family members she will aliente herself because her nature. How long will they tolerate her. Mostly people like Surekha get alienated for the way treat others.

If you ask me I wouldn't agree about Mothers in law ill treating their daughters in law. I mean not all five fingers are same. My mother in law is a beautiful person. But, I have heard some mothers in law ill treating their daughters in law to keep their power in the house or some other reason. Having said that I feel ITV mothers in law are exaggerated in the name of entertainment.

Surekha Bhosale and Bhavani Nagesh Chavan are common in ITV but not in real world.

Patriarchy ka meaning ye nahi hota ki men oppressor hote hain, aur women oppressed hoti hain.

Patriarchy me men and women dono ki milibhagat se women ko exploit kiya jata hai.. aur dusre caste/class/etc factors to hote hi hain... To lower class men oppress hote hain.

Patriarchy me men decide karte hain ki kaun women superior hai, kaun inferior! And women (literally all, very few are exception) generally love to play this game! Those who defy this game, they get burnt by it (Ex: Isha doning knowingly everything because of her principals, in previous season, Sai was challenging everything unknowingly because she couldn't see wrong and she cared for everyone)

This is both women's cryptonite and their boon... Patriarchy works in favor of some women (Surekha), barely tolerate some women (who finally learn to live in their limits, even though they're suffering inside) but brutally attacks those who dare to defy it. Women will never win this game because women play this game willingly.
