After what Vinu said about V being P's husband, I more strongly feel that it is Vinu who overhears V-P conversation. BK's counselling may lead V to take that step. Especially like you mentioned how he will see the damage P is doing to Vinu. This will prove Sai right that P is capable of harming Vinu (after the kidnapping episode when Sai questions V about P carrying a gun), but V at that point defended her, because he only considered physical aspect. He has to see how harmful P's influence is to Vinu's mental health. He also needs to understand that P will never allow Vinu to get close to Sai. Vinu will always P, and she will ensure that Sai is always pitted against her to earn that sympathy from Vinu.

But Sai will see how Vinu is attached to P. Vinu is bound to create a scene if he overhears this conversation between P-V. And Sai's response to V will be highly influenced by Vinu
