That's true! They just want to get rid of Sai's responsibilities. It's difficult for anyone to manage Sai, especially in the state she is in, but they just can't leave her alone. So the only way out for them is to get her married to Virat, in the name of his promise to Kamal sir.
I don't care about Milind and his wife, but i'm disappointed in Usha mausi.
I get where you are coming from. But I also understand Usha Maushi. Initially, even I was disappointed in her. But she is in her character. If you see, Sai is not her family and we have no idea about her family, if they respect her or not and all. So she for sure can't take Sai with her. Now that Kamal Sir is no more, they need to vacate the place, which means Sai can't stay there.
In many Indian families, even now, people are afraid to send their daughters to hostels. Also, knowing Jagtap and his dad, what's guarantee that they can't harm her while she's at Nagpur?
Again, I am talking from Usha Maushi's perspective. Not to forget that she has always ben in Gadchiroli and there, people do believe that a woman needs a man's support.
If you ask me, I am more disappointed with Virat. He is educated and he knows how the world is moving forward, but yet, he decided to marry her. Why? Just to protect her? Take care of her or take her responsibility? Just because he decided, should Sai marry him?
I can't comment much on this unless we know why both of them agreed to marry each other. I will post my views based on that.
So, in answer to your question, no, it's not justified.
For me, this also highlights the ideology that a woman always need to be under the protection of a man. This ideology has been perpetuated by BW for years (In KKKG, Rahul keeps his hand on Anjali's head as a sign that he'll protect her when her father dies and marries her soon after, in Mujhse Dosti Karoge, the character of Hrithik agrees to marry that of Kareena when her father dies). This idea, that woman is in constant need of a man to survive, is in full display here....
True! Most of the ITV shows, it's always shown that a woman need to be under the protection of man. As if, without him, there is no existence of her. If you see, Bhavani said something in the same line to Pakhi. Even Shivani, who looks like a modern woman, said the same. I don't think we can expect anything beyond this in ITV. Atleaset here, Sai saved herself from Jagtap and ran away, without Virat's help or without waiting for Virat or her aaba to come rescue her. So that's something positive I got to see.
This ideology has always been there in Bollywood and ITV shows too(maybe because most of them are written/directed by Male directors). Okay, let's not deviate, all I am saying is, this situation is shown in a small town of India, where people actually think like that.
Enough with rant, but I was never convinced with the reason for SaiRat's marriage. But since this is the end game, I know ki yeh toh hona hi hai. So I have prepared myself for this
