Karan never brought his family in till the last moment and Laxmi suffered horribly . Still , the idiotic Garodias marry Jhanvi off without making proper enquiries about his family . Also , if he is such a famous industrialist these enquiries could be made from outside . But even that option isn't explored . Wasn't the fiasco of one daughter .........Laxmi , enough for the Garodias o take a stand that no way , without meeting the family , this shaadi cannot proceed ? Surpisingly , even Laxmi doesnt open her mouth even once to voice this caution !
Saraswati stayed put in an abusive marraige for months , hugging the age old concept that marraige is for life , even if it is bad it is my destiny . Inspite of seeing that and participating in burning BHavishya , Gauri tells Yuvraj this bad two days old marraige with Akash is her destiny ! Forget telling the goofy Garodias of her predicament , why doesn't it strike Gauri to tell this whole thing to her mother in law who is fully on her side and who will bring down the whiplash that Akash understands the most.........cutting off his financial strings which will not only push gals like Tina away in a jiffy but make Akash ready for working seriously on this marraige ? Telling Devyani is a must as it was she who coaxed Gauri to marry her son ...........any daughter in law wud have asked , since u gave his guarantee , now what responsibiliy are you taking ?
The answer to that wud be Devyani removing Akash's name from her inheritance and putting Gauri's name there as a compensation that Gauri shud have grabbed .
Uptill Saras and Laxmi's marraige viewers swallowed the my kismat thing as really gals do stay put in abusive marraiges like this . But after watching two sisters why wud Jhanvi and Gauri not know their options ? No logic in this except that the script staff has run out of ideas , run out of flicking too , and is recycling incredible garbage !

One would think that these silly girls would learn from each other's mistakes...even if they were desperate to marry Gauri off, they still should have thought it through, same goes for Jhanvi...I've never seen such bewakoofi in my entire life!
Thanks for a great post didi!

Do not expect wisdom or sanity from the serial writer. If any serial will be aired years after years, this will happen.

I am convinced that the writers and the entire concept of this show is developed by, and geared towards, some Taliban-like group. Their idea of "woman power" is a woman who is able to endure all the crap life throws at her. A woman who suffers in silence. That is their idea of a strong woman. Their philosophy is that a weak woman would not be able to handle the kind of injustice and abuse she suffers. She would not have the "strength" to tolerate the kind of out and out nonsense that the betiyaan endure.

They are trying to disguise all of these hideous beliefs and practices as a feminist cause, as if women are so stupid that they will lap it all up and not know the difference. Clearly they are wrong! There are angry and offended voices on this forum every day.

I have finally figured this out after a long time. This show is about the strength and power of women as viewed through the lens of some chauvinistic and fundamentalist men.

OK you are right Thats what the show is about the strength of women and how much they can endure, but the show should not show In Law as monsters cause this gives people who are watching this show wrong ideas.
Also the writers need to come up with new things. When all this was happening to Saras and Laxmi the show was not that good and the rating were low. so Hope that doesn't happened.

I totally agree with rainabow. My mom says the same things to me, that woman power is how much they can endure. "Hindustani Naris" are supposed to do anything to keep their marriage together - even suffer abuse and act stupid but never ask for help or use their brains.

U r right . This thought comes in my head every time i watch this serial .................that the strength of women as seen from a chauvinist viewpoint is how much she can endure and how long she can endure . ALso , a woman's feminity is preserved in this serial by not showing her to be particularly brainy [ from the mcp viewpoint of course ] but gullible [ or stupid ???] in just the right degree [ hence the swallowing of the same kind of lies and doing the same mistakes like a moron again and again .].
If there is an award for the scripts written totally by a male chauvinist pig mentality , it shud go to this serial .Although I do believe one of the writers is a woman , so I don't know how she can accept that award . Also , I often wonder how inspite of being a woman , when so many saleable gimmicks r there , she agrees to these infruiating , stale portrayals of women . My son who watches this serial off and on while doing his homework often remarks that maybe the other two mcps on the script team hypnotised her !😆

I saw agree why do they never bother to inquire the back ground of their supposedly son in laws. yuv even try to help and gauri knew the way akash and tina worked so why did she kept quiet.
It is all gauri's fault she jumped in well with her eyes open and Now whatever she suffers will be her fault alone as she still wants to keep quiet about akash and his abuses from dev and her family.
I agree madhu the best option for akash will be let gauri be the owner of all including the company and make akash work under her.
That formula will definately do the wonders. Dev can be advisor and let gauri learn.
