Do all love stories have to start with a fight?

This Gauri & Akash track is the same old recycled story packaged in a new box. Laxmi & Karan's love started with her hating him. Jhanvi & Nikhil - they both fought initially. Durga thought Ranbir was Bhavishya so fought with him initially. I don't know about Saras & Ktj. Gauri & Akash's story has also started with him hating her...
I don't want Gauri to be Akash's love...I want something different, like her falling in love with a guy she works with, someone who supports her, helps her, understands her & finds her attractive just the way she is. Someone who is her equal.
I also don't want Gauri to have a drastic makeover, yes change her salwar suits to something better, change her spectacles to something more stylish but that is it. Show us that ordinary girls too can attract the attention of guys.

They never show a love story started with simple companionship pleasure slowly evolving into a deeper emotion called love . Like routine walks to a bus stop , meeting in a library and sharing passion for books , participating in a marathon walk to protect environment , or simply buying bhaaji from the same bhaajiwallah ! Or even loving a friend's brother or the guy who sits next to u in office or is in the same office building and meets u every morning in the elevator !
Jhanvi's makeover was swift ...........from corny whorish outfits to salwar khameezes with the earlier spark missing in her nature and she adapting the robot mentality of the sisters saying yes to Saras .
Hope Gauri's makeover doesnt take away her simplicity and eager to please innocence that is endearing . Frankly i fail to understand why a guy wudnt look twice at a simple , normal gal wearing glasses but having an okay figure and a smooth complexion and uncomplicated features . Gauri is all that and more as some gals have pimples or acne , or sallow complexions or such thin waists that it is as good as embracing a stick ..........they totally lack sex appeal inspite of baring themselves or wearing tight jeans . Guys r not stupid and it is perfectly possible to fall for such a girl after keen observation ..........in Akash's case he observes Gauri on a daily basis . Also , simplicity in a gal can be a turn on in chaalu guys .........as chaalu as they r , they r humans , and not immune to the beauty of simplicity . Also they r attracted to what they lack .........or what majority of gals around them lack . It is a myth that chaalu guys ' love ' chaalu gals .' . They befriend them for faster sex , bas . Respect and love r totally diffrent emotions that these guys take good care to invest before settling down . I know a guy who was a playboy and had ten girlfirends [ literally ] and finally chose a simple slim gal for a wife and really was nice to her as all along he had never really respected those gals and in his words was just doing ' timepass ' !

I agree with everything that is said here - I really do wish there would be a nice simple middle class guy for Gauri, everyone except Saras married rich brats!
Another unrelated comment I wanted to add here is regarding Tina - isn't she just a receptionist? What right does she have to bark at everyone that came for the interview? Surely people in the Indian corporate world don't behave like this?

You're absolutely right! I too am sick of the poor girl rich guy angle. Why shouldn't Gauri fall for someone who actually treats her nice? What does it say about her that she daydreams about a guy who is a jerk to her? I would love to also see Jatin in a different kind of character too. We know he is really great as the snobbish businessman kind of type, but I like the soft roles he has done too, like after he falls in love with Shalini's character in KGGK.

Which brings me to my second point. That's what I like about Shalini Chandran (who made the jodi with Jatin in KGGK). She is not like the typical overdressed, extremely skinny and fake contact lens kind of tamasha. She is beautiful, but in a slightly understated way. And her character was always simple, dressed simply and so on.

I really don't want Gauri to have a drastic makeover. That would just be a further blow to the self respect of her character!

Arti - you are absolutely right - why in heaven's name would Gauri dream about someone who treats her like rubbish? She deserves someone who respects her, loves her for who she is. I am suspecting that they will give her a drastic make over - the message they will be sending out is only drop dead gorgeous girls can snag the dishy guys!

No they don't . Corporate world has its own professional ethics and way of functioning . If Tina behaves like this even for one day in the corporate world in real life , she will be fired by evening .
What they r crudely trying to show is an ambitious bitchy kinda gal trying to move up by patofying the owner's son . I dont deny that such gals do exist , but these things r done more subtly , not this crudely .....as such gals fear being found out .
One more thing . Tina looks really very ordinary . If sex is being used as a weapon here , neither is she voluptous or extremely sexy , nor particularly striking . She looks just like a nondsecript receptionist thats all .
Btw receptionists really dont have access to boardrooms , boss's cabins , conference rooms etc etc . If they r spotted they will surely be questioned as to what exactly they r doing there . Personal secretaries yes , their designation includes this access .

In most Indian serials, they portray the corporate world to be a really horrible place to work where the boss is barking at you, literally everyone is mean - a typical example of this is Jassi, she at least had a group of friends that loved her for who she was, everyone else was so mean to her!
I haven't had the opportunity to work in India at all so I was just wondering, thanks for clearing this up for me didi!
