Ok I can't resist .
Was Gauri holding the holy chunri over Kajr's head as she walked down the stairs like a princess ? I can understand common women doing it but Gauri ? The least Savitri and her daughters could do was to stay aloof from the ceremony .......Gauri was smiling lovingly as if Kajri was her bhabhi or something instead of standing with Niyati.
Savitri was gazing fondly at her .
And the parrot like crowd was of course there , with their phony , parrot expressionless comments . I must say , for being one of the wealthiest and most influential families in Rajpipla , The Garodias seem to invite pretty cheap roadsiders for functions in their familes who only comment as if they wer rehearsing .
Btw .....how come no one asked Kajri that Niyati was the one who brot her there in first place ? Kajri's ' hungama' honestly had no logic in it even a child cud understand it .
Niyati frankly deserved every bit of it . Serves her right for choosing to be a doormat , saint , and following in Devi Savitri's footsteps .

This family is either very dysfunctional or irreversibly stupid. They've driven each other crazy, not to mention viewers like me, you, and many others.

I'm so irritated by their senseless actions and beliefs, and their failure to learn lessons. For some reason, murder, death, deceit are not negative concepts. God, it's time Savitri meets a martyr's passing, and the family gets kicked in the a** time and time again.

These people are so stupid. Are the writers indicating in any way that to live by values, traditions, and family, you have to be like the Garodias? They need therapy and separation, not adulation.

To the point at hand, if I was Nyati (what a horrid, horrid fate), I'd put my thinking cap on and figure out that I'm getting framed. Duh???? Keep distance from Kajri, do not interact with her, and get some bit*hiness and anger already. Do not copy Savitri, pity the pathetic fool.

My cousin just visited me all the way from Australia. She has traveled the world for several months and only recently returned home, and she is due to have her baby in December. In the world of Indian serials, she would be damned if she even left her bed. The idea that pregnant women need to be pampered like goddesses is total bunk. On the other hand, exercise and a lot of fresh air do them good. They should put Kaj to work doing some gardening or something. She would give up the act before you could say "my water broke."

According to Garodia logic, switching children under immense familial and societal pressure and then raising one of them with love and total devotion is the most horrid crime a human being can commit...worse than murder (Rasik) and deceit (Kajri). According to Garodia logic, even the most foul woman imagineable can be redeemed by her fertility. I can understand them tolerating her until the baby is born, as it isn't her child's fault that its mother is a wretch. But coddling her and not even bothering to get some kind of confirmation that it is, indeed, Yuvraj's child, is obscene. And Niyati's docility is positively offensive. How does she go from twisting Kajri's arm behind her back and throwing her out of the room, and literally wrestling with her over her mangalsutra, to this pathetic WIMP? Did she just forget how this woman almost ruined her wedding day? That is the main problem with this show, and so many others: characters only remember certain details of the past at their own convenience, and we as the audience are just supposed to swallow this crap. In BMTD, Amar was having all kinds of flashbacks while they were still in Benaras. Now he doesn't remember having them at all. For ages it seemed like he forgot that Divya took a bullet for him, and then just a few days ago he mentioned it again.

What nonsense. I understand that serials are meant to be melodramatic and far-fetched, but I can't stomach these huge gaping leaps in logic. Someone ought to invite the Garodias for a special therapy session with Dr Phil (I don't know how many people will get that reference).

I agree with your post completely
Yup, Brainless Garodia's is the right way to put it! I cannot believe this family and their behaviour is mind-boggling 👎🏼 even I noticed the way Gauri was coming down the stairs, smiling happily. It was silly..... So was the reaction of the rest of the family. But Yuv surprised me the most. What kind of man is he? How could he just stand there and listen to those awful comments being said about his own wife? 😕 And those cheap guests, just goes to show what kind of social circle the Gorodia parivaar has 😆 The entire rassum turned into a circus!
And you're right about Niyati, she did deserve it because she didn't stand up for herself. I hate it when they show the female character turn into a helpless person but the end scene did make me feel very sorry for her....Yuv was talking to Kajri as if she was his wife, that too in front of Niyati. How cruel

gp00.....anyone can make out the diffrence between slipping and tripping , and Kajri who has cut Niyati's wedding sari to shreds is perfectly capable of exactly this kind of grossly cheap tactic ..........so i too say Duhh !!?? with u .😊
rainabow I once more request u not to make an opinion about Indian pregnant ladies by what utter nonsense they show in the serials ..as an Indian I make this request as the nonsense they show in serials in such a consistent way to project it as the Indian way baffles me . Just like Americans have a baby shower and r given slightly special care [ emotionally ] by their spouses or doctors during pregnancy .........and by special care i mean the human consideration that a pregnant woman justly desrves during that ordeal , in India there is the god bharaii.......the Indian baby shower in the seventh month , and the consideration for the woman .......thats it . My sister worked till the last day of her pregnancy in her office [ she changed two trains daily to get there ] and her water broke in the office itself . She was rushed by two men in the office working overtime that day to the hospital .....[ she had to tell them that her water broke.....a fact that acutely embarasses her even today 😊]..........and growing up in a joint family , i have seen practical experienced grandmothers and aunts rebuking their granddaughters and daughter in laws for sleeping in the afternoons instead of giving a hand in housework or odd jobs . So sharply wud my grandma rebuke if she found a pregnant woman lazing around unecessarily , and if i asked her why that attitude she wud shortly answer , her delivery will be quicker and easier if she works . Bedrest was given promptly to pregnant woman only when the doctor requested it as a medical consideration . One aunt of mine was bleeding all the months of her pregnancy , and was advised strict bedrest and the same grandmother had kept an eagle eye on her to see that she took it .
So u see , these women r so experienced , that their medical knowledge is really quite stunning . They sniff chicken pox before the docs confirm it and detect a pregnancy even before it is declared or the young girl goes to a doctor . Kajri with her golden butt lies on the bed , eats dryfruits , Niyati gives her medicenes in her hand [ I wonder if some one gives her a bath even] and people r cooking daily for her .........i often wonder , from my experience and the way i grew up , what my grandma wud have said if she had watched this serial . I tell u i know her reaction.....she wud have snorted .
The cravings of a woman in early pregancy r given attention to just as a pregnant American woman wud tell her hubby ' Honey i feel like a banana split icecream today , nothing else ' and he wud rush to get it for her .........an expression of love . In fact , American serials rather overdo the cravings part [ my private opinion ....please dont be offended]............just the way Indian serials overdo the entire pregnancy pampering part . I often watch American heroines like Debrah in Everybody loves Raymond or Helent hunt [ as Jamie] in Mad about u etc throwing tantrums about their cravings if their husbands bring the wrong flavour of their icecream or demanding it in the middle of the night and expecting their husbands to rush out ..........and i always found it as being rather deliberately spoilt , and expecting to be pampered as she is pregnant . [ U kno wat i mean.....the im pregnant my butt is golden thing].........In fact rainabow , i have seen this scene of cravings in almost all American serials and I always felt surely the woman can wait till the day starts instead of making her poor husband go out at three in the night ???
But i think that these r merely stereotype ways of projecting a pregnancy in both .....American and Indian serials .
Dr Phil btw wud become slightly unhinged himself by the time he finished interviewing all the Garodias .😊
Aaliya .....Niyati has literally pushed Yuvraj in Kajri's arms . Now whatever happens , she has to take it . Yuvraj was supporting her tremendously and didnt want Kajri in his life at all . I admit .....he too , doesnt show common sense nowand then , but right now i am more bugged with niyati for being so stupid and idiotic Savitri who keeps noticing Niyati suffering the same way she did and keeps mumbling yeh thik nai hai instead of doing something about it .

Yeah, you're very right. Niyati has pushed Yuvraj into Kajri's arms so really she has no one but herself to blame. I stil find Yuvraj's behaviour pathetic but it's true that Niyati has allowed all of this to happen. I can't believe she's becoming a doormat....it drives me insane! She should have seen it coming the moment Kajri's preganancy was announced. How foolish she was to bring Kajri back. And I agree about Savitri. She's always thinking, but no action! She is allowing Niyati to make exactly the same mistakes that she did with Menka. History is repeating itself.

Koolsadhu, my cousin is a pregnant Indian woman, so I know they don't really behave this way. That's why I used her as an example. I'm agreeing with you. I just wonder why they behave that way on television. At least in American shows it's done with a sense of humor and usually as part of a funny sequence, but in Indian shows not only is it serious but it's so self righteous and moralizing! As if a pregnant woman who works a little and gets off her golden butt for a few minutes a day is bad and careless. On the other hand, a woman who doesn't get any exercise and fresh air is being careless.

Dr Phil is already unhinged. The Garodias would just be the final nail in the coffin 😆

As for Niyati, this is entirely her own doing although I do find it a bit stupid of Yuvraj to suddenly be so emotionally attached to Kaj.

Ah so u find Dr Phil unhinged.😆 Me , I find he has an attitude . [ The type that comes with success and fame . The unconscious attitude . He needs a shrink himself to detect it .]
Yuvraj has become emotionally involved with the baby , not Kajri . But clever Kaj will get him via the baby [ which btw is surely not his just as Yuv wasnt Suryas.]
Niyati and Savitri r goofies and shud be put up in Indian Disneyland .
Yes i know they show it humorously but its not just the comic serials....its even in soaps like The bold and the beautiful or Santa barbara or Dynasty or Dallas . Inevitably when a pregnancy is announced theres an icecream scene , the demand at an odd hour and the hubbies rushing out to ' prove ' they r attentive and love their wives . And i always wondered ......how spoilt ! Had i been an American hubby and had my wife asked me ice cream in the middle of the night , i wud have told her , in the morning honey .😆
I feel , if Indian serials portray women like doormats American serials portray them as bossy . Private opinion of course , coz sum of the Americans i know r too good and understanding .

I can't stand Dr Phil! I feel he and the Garodias deserve each other. You might say the Garodias are only characters, but trust me, so is Dr Phil😛

I never watch American soaps and was too young for Dallas and Dynasty and all those types of shows, so I don't know about that. I think every culture has its own stupid superstitions and stereotypes regarding women...particularly pregnant women.

Actually it's funny you mention the craving thing as it just reminded me of a commercial that used to come on a few months ago. It was for Parampara foods. The pregnant woman wakes up in the middle of the night and wakes up her hubby and asks him to make her something...I don't remember what, but obviously a Parampara product. And he does so, because it's just that quick and easy 😛.
