Features will be restored slowly... once the migration is complete
I doubt everything will be there. it is using a rich text editor which has limited features.
also, ideally the process should have been implement fully, keep backward compatibility, migrate data, test fully, and release for users..then bug fixing
but here it is - implement only basic skeleton in new technology mainly appearance part not the logic part, migrate data, release for users >> now remaining implementation that too if possible/feasible and testing is done by users.

Overview for Built -in Feature by IF
PRIVATE MESSAGE
From your Private Messenger you can send and receive Private Messages between yourself and other forum members, knowing that your messages won't be viewed by other forum members.
Inbox: This is where all incoming Private Messages are stored and from where you can view or delete any Private Messages you have received. It works very much like your email 'inbox'.
Outbox: This is where outgoing Private Messages are stored and from where you can view Private Messages that you have sent. Private Messages remain in your Outbox until the recipient deletes the message.
Buddy List: This is like an address book. You can add or delete forum members to your Buddy List for quick reference. You can also block those members you don't wish to receive Private Messages from.
New Private Message: This is where you can compose new Private Messages and send them to other forum members.
Bugs Fixed List:
Testing color codes and alignment
Bug - Color code lost (Reported)
do not want to sound pessimistic, but I have less hope left regarding this new format. A lot of features and usability aspects have been given away and there is not even a remote possibility of having these back.
I (and many others) have put a considerable amount of effort and time in testing or reporting the issues, but seems it is going in vain. It is better to leave it on its own to implement/test/correct the bugs and hope for the best.
Instead, I can use that time on reading :)
