I agree with Maan, if Geet continues to stay with his family she will be unnecessarily bounded by their rules and expectations

Maan took the right decision of making Geet stay in her parents house as there she will have the freedom to study without daadi's fear. Also Geet is growing and at this time Maan needs to make something of himself too.
