I know I am late, but could not finish it on time... so here is a belated Valentine's OS!
Please excuse the mistakes since it is not proofread.
To add more to his anger he saw someone coming to their table with a bunch of red roses.
He had to find this person who had decide to make them aware of his sorry existence this day. Just as he was about to shower a couple of more cuss words he heard her gushing, " Whoever he is, has a great taste. I wish I could know him"
He had the wild urge to throw everything on the table away or maybe put it on fire, for it was filled with different types of gifts ranging from stuffed toys, chocolates, flowers and all of them were her favorites. Someone was stalking her badly and she was going gaga over this maniac instead of panicking.
While Geet, Meera and Yash were trying to guess Geet's secret admirer, Maan was in his own hell. He had been in love with her since they were in high school but never gathered enough courage to express his feelings fearing it would jeopardize their friendship and now some baffoon was trying to sweep her away. He had to do something and quick.
Once the day was over and they started for home, Geet and Maan made their way to his car as he would always pick up and drop her, them being neighbors. Geet had asked for his help in carrying her gifts which he had bluntly refused. Seeing her sullen face he had decided to do her bidding and now the fresh roses were badly crushed and withered with the force he applied on them.
On reaching her bedroom, he had half a mind of throwing outside the window, but again she would be upset so he threw them on the bed instead. She frowned as she turned to look at him.
"Just what is your problem. I am seeing since morning you are edgy and saying bad things about this guy"
"What do you expect, ha?" He asked with his hands on his hips
"Do you want me to applaud him for knowing you so well despite never talking to you?"
"Or maybe you could be a good best friend and help me in finding him and getting to know him better" she smiled cheekily
"I would rather break his bones than let you near him" he fumed
"What do you have against him when you don't even know him?"
"Well, to begin with he is a stalker. And how dare he come close to Maan Singh Khurana's best friend"
"Just coz I am your best friend does not mean I can't have a boy friend"
"Fine. Get lost" with that he slammed the door to her room and left while Geet smirked and happily started going through her gifts
At night, they were chatting on their WhatsApp group when Meera asked if Geet got any clue about the secret admirer to which Geet sent a sad emo with a no. They kept discussing how could they identify him. While Maan did not respond they knew he was reading all their messages owing to the blue tick. It was then that Yash came up with the brilliant idea that they could put up a message on the college bulletin board asking him to reveal his identity. Maan's eyes popped out when Geet actually thought of going ahead with this. What has gotten into her! Although a part of him doubted she would do this but then he had also not expected her to accept those gifts from a stranger in the first place so now he could not really put this past her, especially with Yash and Meera being her allies. Why could they not focus on their own relationship trying to set up HIS girl with a random nobody, he seethed.
After thinking a lot, he slept off. Next morning he was still contemplating his course of action when Geet came to sit in his car. She barely acknowledged his presence and that set him off.
Instead of driving them off to college he took them to their favorite hangout which was an hours drive from the main city. Surprisingly even Geet did not question him. He had thought she would fight and he was prepared for that. Strange!
All through the drive she was looking outside the window enjoying the view and if he was not mistaken there was a small smile gracing her lips. What was she thinking?
"Er.. Geet?"
"What?" She barked
"Why the hell are you shouting?"
"I was day-dreaming and you just interrupted it. Can you drive quietly"
She must be thinking of that loser, he mused furiously
Once they reached, he stopped and got out waiting for her to follow. She did. But instead of going to him, she found herself a nice spot and went to stand there to admire the view.
He kept looking at her for sometime, thinking and re-thinking. After gathering all his courage he went to her and tapped her shoulder.
She turned to find a very sombre looking Maan.
He looked like he wanted to say something but no words came out. He opened and closed his mouth a couple of times and when he could not still utter a word, turned away from her running a hand through his hair frustratingly, all the while she looked on curiously.
"Are you not going to ask me why I brought you here instead of college?"
"You are behaving weird since yesterday so thought maybe you want to tell me the reason and apologize"
"Apologize?!" he asked flabbergasted
"Yep, for calling the guy names. What did he ever do to you for you to go after him?"
That did it!
"He is trying to take away what is mine!"
"Excuse me!"
"I... I did not want it to come out like this but I have been meaning to tell you this for quite long, precisely since the first year of college..."
She waited patiently
"I thought of telling many a times but feared you would get upset and angry and I would lose you forever..."
"So were you even planning on telling me ever?"
"I suppose... someday I would have"
She was smiling when he looked up and realized shocked that she probably knew what he had in his mind
" Do you... by any chance do you know?"
"I don't know... you tell me" she shrugged
In that moment he knew for he pulled her closer by her waist and holding her tight he confessed
"I love you, Geet Handa! I love you so much"
She grinned and replied " me too"
He hugged her and she reciprocated by wounding her arms around his neck.
Suddenly he pulled away confused
"What about that guy? All that yesterday? Was it a ploy to get me jealous?"
She laughed, "Yup Khurana, you got fooled for there is no guy. It was all planned by Meer, Yash and me to get you to confess or else I would have had a few grey hairs waiting for you"
"And those gifts..."
"Yup, I sent them to myself!" She declared happily
"But next year onwards it should be you doing all that and better"
He simply leaned down and took her lips in for a kiss and she got her answer.
