PART FIVE

"Maan... Maan... Ise kya hua?" Khushi tried calling Maan but he was quick enough to vanish from there. Khushi glanced at Arnav to ensure if he had some idea about Maan's sudden disappearance from there.

Arnav nodded negatively signalling he knew nothing about what was wrong with Maan. He stated, "I don't know... abhi tak to thik tha... don't know what's wrong."

"Guys, I have to issue one book from library. I will meet you later" Geet declared while putting her half - finished tiffin back in her bag and left canteen without even caring to listen Arnav and Khushi's reply.

Arnav and Khushi was just looking at each other's faces in confusion witnessing the weird behaviour of Maan and Geet. They were in dilemma whether to think over Maan's behaviour or over Geet's.

Arnav said while putting his hand over Khushi's, "Khushi don't you think hame Geet ko sab bata dena chahiye?" Khushi's face turned pale. She disagreed, "No Arnav... If she gets to know from anywhere else then its ok lekin agar hamne Geet ko kuch bhi bataya... Maan will get very angry and besides that he will lose his trust on us... and then you very well know what will happen... but yeah Geet should know... but only from Maan... she will have to make him trust her"

Geet was walking in the college corridor muttering to her, "What happened to Maan? Wo ese canteen se kyu chala gaya? I have to find him". She was quite tensed about Maan's behaviour. She sensed it in canteen itself when her eyes caught tears in his eyes which he didn't let fall down and most probably he left to hide those tears. She hurriedly entered inside the library, hoping that she would find him there. She searched all over in the library, but he wasn't there. "Kaha jaa sakta hai?" she was thinking in her mind of all possible places he could be found. She searched in whole college for him but to her surprise he was nowhere.

"Dev, have you seen Maan anywhere" Geet asked Dev as she saw him roaming in the college. She raised her hope that Dev might could tell anything about Maan.

Dev stopped listening Geet. He thought for a while and answered, "I saw him making his way towards terrace" and he left from there.

"Terrace? " Geet thought in her mind and rushed towards terrace without wasting time.

With Maan:

Maan was sitting on the ground taking the back support of the wall behind him. He was sitting by folding his knees covering his face placing it on his knees. His eyes were filled of tears but he was too firm to let them come out. But he was dying from inside.

Geet came running to the terrace and stopped at the entrance. She felt terribly bad seeing Maan's condition. She could easily see how broken he was from inside. She could feel his pain though she had no idea about anything related to him but it was like some invisible connection in between them which was conveying Maan's pain, feelings and emotions to Geet.

She slowly took her steps towards him and sat down in front of him on her knees keeping her bag aside on the ground. She hesitantly put her hand on his shoulder causing him to startle a bit as he felt sudden weight on his shoulder.

She instantly took her hand back from him as she felt his movements. Pulling himself back, he looked there to know who the person was. Maan was shocked to see Geet there. He hadn't expected her to be there. In fact, he hadn't expected anyone to be there. It was quite surprising for him that she left her lunch for him and came all the way to terrace searching.

Maan was feeling emotionally too weak to handle himself at that time. Before Geet could ask or understand anything, Maan wrapped his arms around her neck hugging her by hiding his face inn crook of her neck. Geet was way beyond stunned to respond anything. She slowly hugged him back putting her hands around his back rubbing it frequently to soothe him.

He was feeling relaxed in her embrace and she could feel that he was calming down mentally. Her touch worked like some magic for him.

She wanted to ask him so much but now his relaxation was more important for her. She preferred remaining quiet letting him to be somewhat stable.

"Is she caring for me? And if she is... then why? I am not even her friend and I had insulted her so much... I have been only and only rude to her from our very first meet... but she... why didn't she snap back at me even once? Isko dekhkar to lagta nahi that she is the one who will take her insults without saying anything? Then why the hell she is bothering about me?????" Maan was questioning himself in his mind being in the hug.

Soon realising their position, Maan pulled himself back from the hug staring at her. She felt little bit uncomfortable in his gaze.

She softly called for him bringing him back to reality, "Maan... Are you okay? Wo tum canteen se ese kyu chale gaye and what are you doing here?" She badly wanted to know what was wrong with him but not because she was curious to know about his personal life but because she was worried for him. Her face was reflecting concern more than curiosity.

"I am not answerable to you... and listen keep you this fake concern and care to yourself... because I very well know everyone is selfish in this world..." he said getting up from ground.

"And you..." Maan stopped in middle as he stared at her innocent face but soon turned his gaze from her. Avoiding eye contact with Geet, he continued what he left, "And you are no different"

He glanced at her once again to see the effect of his words on her. Though it wasn't like he was insulting her for the first time, it wasn't like he hadn't been rude to her earlier, but this time she looked quite hurt... umm not quite she looked terribly hurt.

Even his face showed somewhat regret and He left the terrace in just few moments before Geet could realise that he actually left.

"Maan... Maan listen" she tried stopping him but he was already left. She sat there unable to understand what she should do. There she was... doing every possible thing to understand his pain so that she could reduce it... and he... calling her selfish and not ready to share his anything with her. She banged her hand hard on the wall in frustration while getting up

.

"Ahhh" the nail on the wall pierce directly into her hand causing it to bleed and make her to shriek in pain. She instantly took her hand back holding it by other hand.
