Geet: Bara shauk hai na app ko mujhe problem mai dalna...

Geet: Mujhe app say baat nahi karni

And Geet shut the phone off.

Geet (selfthought): Abhi raat ko hi to baat hoi thi, mainey bola bhi tha mai theek ho ab..liken nahi order dena to Maan Singh Khurana ka janam dik adikar hai. Aur to aur separately Baba ko phone kar key sab kuch bata diya and now he is forcing me to go to the hospital...

After muttering to herself Geet got ready and went to the hospital to get an x-ray done.

Geet: Excuse me doctor, Can I talk to you for a second

Doctor: Yes

Geet turned towards her Baba and said

Geet: Baba you go I am just coming.

Mohinder turned towards the exit

Geet took her cell phone out and dialled the first number on her call log

Geet: Can you tell my very worried fianc that I am perfectly alright and that the x-ray is fine as well.

Doctor nodded and smiled at that

Geet: Agar aap ko meray upper bharosa nahi hai to app doctor say hi baat kariye.

Doctor: Yes, Mr Maan. She is perfectly alright. Her x-ray is fine as well. She just needs a bit of rest.

Doctor said while gigling

And Geet smacked her head.

Geet(selfthought): Over efficient doctor, rest ka blonay ko nahi kaha tha, abh har do ghantay phone ayega un ka, kia kar rahi ho, kyun kar rahi ho... Babaji, mai London chali gayi to phir kya hoga... mama baba alag hai jo un ka naam bhi list mai daal diya...

Doctor: Ma'am

Geet smiled and said sugar coatedly

Geet: Thank you so much doctor

And then ended the call.

Maan on the other hand while working on a file stopped thinking about her

Maan (selfthougt): Geet, kya haal kardia hai tum ne Maan Singh Khuranna ka. Even if I don't want to think about you you just come in my mind in a whirlwind.

He smiled while thinking

Maan(selfthough): agar mai Mohinder uncle ko na batata to is ne hospital jana nahi tha... just to be sure I called him last night and told him. And I am sure Geet nay phir koi drama kia hoga, and Mohinder uncle may not have listened to her naunsence and then she called me to get her frustration out... He chuckled at that point. And she must have asked the doctor to tell me about her well being...

Maan smiled unconsciously and then proceeded with the file.

After a month

Maan and Geet's relationship started growing and they started to come close to eachother. Geet had got another best friend in the form of Maan.

One day Geet started jumping on the bed and started calling Rano and Mohinder loudly..

While doing that she called another person

Rano: Kya hoa Geet

Mohinder: Geet beta

Geet: Papa I got accepted for the scholarship. I got a full scholarship from London School of Economics for Finance

Geet: Maan I got accepted

Mohinder: Kyun heart attack deti ho beta. I thought something happened to you...

Geet jumped on the bed and hugged him. While Rano also hugged her and they had a family hug.

Maan was listening and ended the call

Maan(self-thought): I am so happy for you Geet. You definitely deserved this. Her laughter was still ringing in his ears. This reminds me, it calls for a celebration

While continuing to work, the smile lingered and then he was reminded

Maan (selfthought): Abh Madam ki call kuch alag andaz mai ayegi and laughed whole heartedly.

He was doing his work while waiting for her call. He was sure for now she was happy, in mere moments panic would set in and the first person she would call is him

Geet called Meera as well and gave her the good news.

After an hour when her excitement got down, Geet realised that there were too many things to do. She had to be there in two weeks because the classes would start and she had to her visa, shopping etc.

And here Maan was just staring at his cell.

Geet just shut the door of her room and rang him up

Geet: Maan aab mai kia karoon, I have to be there by two weeks... Itni shopping... And visa wo sab kaisay hoga... Maan mai kaisay karungi?? Maan mai pass to ho jaungi na...
Pata nahi kaise they gave me a scholarship... mai to itni intelligent bhi nahi ho... Maan... Maan ... app sun rahe hai?

Maan: Geet thora dheere bolo, train ki speed se bol rahi ho. Itmanan rakho.. kyun itni tension lay rahi ho... Acha forward me the email and I will see it. And Visa, just send me a few details and I will ask Adi the needful and then you can submit them... And rahi baat scholarship ki... to agar tum paas na hi hoi to dusra option to hai na...

Geet got confused as what was the second option he is talking about

Maan: Aray yaar shadi ka...

Geet: Maan... App nai phir mujhe tease kar rahe hai?

Maan: My dear, tumhe na tease karo to kia parosi ki larki ko karo

Geet: Haaw Maan, Ankh utha ka bhi dekha na to..

Maan: To kia kar logi, jo bolna chahti ho wo to bol nahi pa rahi...

Geet at that point just shut her mouth.

Maan realised that and to divert her mind

Maan: Geet acha na... Why are you getting tensed. I have full trust that u will graduate with flying colours.

Geet smiled

Geet: I will not let ur trust broken.

This was a mere statement but held a lot of meaning for both of them.

The next day Maan called Mohinder and asked his permission to take Geet with him.

Geet got ready in a fawn coloured dress with light work on the waist, which was making her hazel eyes shine more, with her usual flat sandals and minimal makeup.

Maan rang the bell and escorted her outside only after greeting her parents.

Geet was just falling for him more by his manners. He gave her parents respect, which she herself sometimes lacked.

Maan took her to a seaside arranged date.

One table with two chairs were arranged, yellow candles giving ample light to make the scene more serene and the moon being there and slight breeze was adding to the perfect ambiance of first date.

Geet:It's beautiful. Maan, what was the need of this..

Maan: Arey yaar, itni achi khabar tumne di, and I don't even celebrate my dear's success.

Maan moved ahead and dragged the seat for her to sit, like a perfect gentle man.

Geet downcasted her head, so that Maan could not see her blushed face.

Maan: Acha chalo, forget all the things. Just enjoy..

Geet lifted her face and smiled at him.

They had a gala time with eachother, teasing eachother, talking here and there and eating.

After eating Maan wiped his face and stood up. Geet got confused as what was up with him now.

Maan put forward his hand

Maan: May I have the pleasure to dance with you, since on our engagement it felt a bit off.

Geet smiled and clasped his hand...

Slow music started...

Raaton ke jaage subah miley hai

Resham ke dhaage yeh silsile hai

Laazmi si lagne lagi hai

Do dilon ki ab nazdeekiyan

Maan positioned his hands on her waist and and Geet caged her hands around his neck. Maan started swaying on the light music, constantly gazing her.

Dikhti nahi par ho rahi hain nazdeekiyan

Do dil hi jaane lagti hain kitni mehfooz nazdeekiyan

Zariya hain ye aankhein zariya

Chhalakta hai jinse ek armaano ka dariya

Aadate hain inki purani

Ankahi si keh de kahani

Parchaaiyan do judne lagi hai

Dekho hawa mein udne lagi hai

Pankh jaisi lagne lagi hain

Do dilon ki ab nazdeekiyan

After the song needed Maan kissed her on her forehead.

Maan: Geet, this is the last date before you go. I don't know how will I survive without looking at your face. But I want to say one thing. Though I know we are already engaged but I wanted to do it.

Maan sat on one knee still having her hand in his both hands.

Maan: Geet, I am in love with you, I don't from when, whether it was our first meeting or during shopping or after the other incidents. But I want to say, that I love you from the bottom of my heart and this heart would not be able to see anyother as my better half.

Geet was overwhelmed by his confession. She didn't know whether to say anything. It was like words were there but her tongue couldn't move.

Maan: Geet, I know what you want to say. It's just that you need a bit more time. And I guess, hopefully after an year I will be lucky to hear your confession.

Geet: Maan...mai..

Maan stood up and put his finger on her lips.

Maan: Nahi Geet, abhi nahi. If you told me right now then I will not be able to remain patient and would force you to get married. Which I don't want to. So Geet I am giving you 1 year. After that your whole life will be mine.

Maan kissed her both cheeks. While Geet hugged him.

Geet: Thank you so much Maan for understanding me. I know you want to hear that, and I was just about to say those three words, but looks like I will have to wait for the perfect occasion just like you did. Maan I am so happy to have been bestowed with a life partner like you.

Geet unclasped her hands from around his back and tip toed so she could reach his height.

Maan closed his eyes, when her trembling lips came on his forehead, her breath fanning his forehead, finally she pressed her lips on his forehead. Her lips lingered for sometime and then she came back to her original standing position.

Maan opened his eyes and smiled at her and hugged her.

After sometime, talking more about their future and obivously not without teasing eachother both were off back to home.
