Read both the parts and its emotional and at the same time mirrors society I simply read it as a social issue and did not imagine maneet in the two people who became victims in the hands of social injustice. So for me its a typical girl from the 1950s era getting married to a common man (not maan) and the rest is history. what you wrote actually happens specially in joint families where the man has no say in matters related to his wife. so yup a nice social issue that depicts pain of a meek woman taught only to love and respect her husband and his family.
