Hey Sonia,

Was on vacation so just got a chance to read your message and I am was thinking what should I say to this girl. I am definitely older than you so I hope you will take this as an older sister's advice and not be mad at me. I am guessing that you are unhappy about the number of likes being less on your FF. Am I right? So here's what I have to say,

Why would you judge yourself with the amount of likes or dislikes you get. Why get excited and depressed depending on the increase and decrease of the likes or comments. To hell with that. That will drive you crazy. How about writing for yourself. How about loving what you write. How about setting a goal for yourself to improve a little bit everyday. Improvement based on your own judgement and not by the likes and dislikes you get. I know of course that getting a whole bunch of likes is very exciting but let not that be the only criteria by which you judge yourself.

Did you not start writing initially just out of sheer excitement. Was it not not because you had so many words and stories inside you that you just couldn't wait to write them down. Were you not not excited when you got the first like on your first FF, the first comment. How about going back to that excitement.

How about just appreciating the people who love what you write and comment on your FF's and encourage you. Forget the people who have forgotten you. For if you feel that they have discarded you why drag their burden around. Write for the one person who loves you. You mentioned a Kiran Di in your message. How about writing for her.

How about wriring it for new readers like me who adored Mannat, a character created by you and only you.

Write in the language you feel comfortable in becasue that is the the way you will have the most emotional connection to your story.

I am writing my first FF and it's got 3 languages in it. Hindi English and Marathi. Talk about confusing. I have a few loyal readers who love it. I love hearing from them. I love responding back to them. In a way if I get too many readers I will lose the personal touch I have with each reader and I love that personal connection to each reader. I am writing what I love and am happy with whatever response I get.I am writing the FF for that one person who loves it. I am writing it because it's a sheer pleasure to imagine stuff up and write it down.

So finally all I'll say is love what you write, have a whole bunch of fun while writing it. Laugh with your stories cry with them connect to them emotionally and there will be people who will love what you have written. Go ahead and write it for them.
