CHAPTER 4: PARTY

A guy can change anything. His face, his home, his family, his girlfriend, his religion, his God. But there's one thing he can't change. He can't change his passion...

Maan was getting ready for the party, when his phone buzzed unceremoniously as he was engrossed in his thoughts, that was broken by the loud ringing of his phone. One look at the caller id, he knew it is not to be attended but disconnected. It was from Sameera, Geet's cousin, whom he was dating till last week, but now things had changed. And after tonight everything will change, people's perspective about him will change, thanks to his boss Mr. Handa.

Sameera, happened to be Geet's cousin, she was a supermodel, married to a business magnet, yup married, yet it didn't stop her from having flings with guys and she was infamous in the society as the Casanova Heiress. THE HANDA'S were proud of their lineage and the family they hailed from and hence they gave a lot of importance to their culture, their heritage and they believed in imparting their kids with the best of knowledge and inculcate in them a sense of pride for their culture and heritage and learn to respect them. Sameera had turned out to be a rebel, she had defied all the rules and failed to show respect for the family.

Sameera was the daughter of Mr. Amarnath Handa, elder brother of Mr. Handa. After the death of her parents in car crash, Mohinder Handa adopted her, but she never was able to accept her uncle and her daughter. She hated both Mr Handa and Geet. During her growing years, her late night outs, her boyfriends, her drinking habit, her lifestyle was always despised off by Mr Handa, until, the day, when Ayushmaan walked in to her life. Ayushmaan Singh Kanwar, Sameera's husband. They had first met through one of her boyfriends, and from the very first time sameera knew that she's gonna marry him, not for the man he is but for his wealth, her eyes glistened in greed nad very soon she Ayush swooning over her madly in love. Soon the newspapers were full of reports of their romance and next there came a formal proposal from Ayush's daadi to Mr. Mohinder Handa asking for Sameera's hand for her grandson. Their wedding was the talk of the town, all the high and mighty were invited for the grand wedding of the year as it was mentioned on the press. But soon the fairytale came crushing, crumbling down, when Ayush got a whiff of the 'real' nature of his wife. But by then it was already too late, Sameera was pregnant with his child, hence they remain tied till date for their son Abhigyaan.

Sameera smirked at the memory, and picked her phone up once again to call Maan, her latest muse! "But he was not picking her call, why?"

Maan disconnected Sameera's call for the fourth time, 'Gosh why is it so difficult for her to understand that he doesn't want to talk to her' he checked himself in the mirror, rather regarded himself in the mirror, from what he saw he seemed impressed, he stood there tall at 6'ft in an All black Armani, with the front buttons of his shirt open, smelling of Gucci with an expensive Rolex tied on his wrist. He mentally smirked, when he thought the effect he would have on geet once they are face to face. "Oh god he couldn't wait any long" With that he dashed out of his room, flitted across his magnanimous hall, through the front door and in no time was in the garage revving up his 'RED BEAUTY' that's how he loved to call it, his Porsche and zoomed off to Handa Mansion, "here I come, my drug!!"

The party was in full swing, the DJ played some of Geet's favourite numbers, And the guests, the who's who of the society had all arrived and there was clamor, laughter and hustle bustle all along but his eyes searched for that one figure, Geet. Mr Handa waved at him and in a jiffy he was by his side, he said something in his ears, but he failed to understand, as by then he had spotted the most exquisite figure in the party standing at the foot of the stairs, slowly descending like a fairy in WHITE!

Geet, he couldn't help but gasp at what he saw, she looked , well no word, no adjective could describe how she looked, the word 'stunning' would be an understatement, she walked with grace and her head held high and in no time was standing next to him, the only hindrance being, Mr Handa, in between, for the first time ever he couldn't stop staring and then like a flash of lightening he was brought out of his reverie by the heavy voice of Mr Handa, who was now addressing the guests, " ladies and gentlemen as you all know, every great leader has his tenure and the tenure has to end, likewise its now my turn to bid adieu to you all and hand over the reins of this gigantic Handa Empire to the one who deserves and hence I would like to introduce to you all the new CEO of HANDA EMPIRE, Geet Handa!" with that announcement the sudden silence, was broken by the sudden clamour nad discussions of the guests but Mr Handa was not finished yet, " ladies and gentlemen, please maintain the decorum, I have some more to add, now that I have introduced you all to the next owner of Handa Empire, let me introduce you to another important man associated with the empire, MAAN as you all know has always been the most trusted and most efficient and like you all fondly call him, My Knight, my confidante, well he too gets a promotion, from now on Maan will hold 50% stakes of the company and with that I announce the engagement of Maan with my darling princess Geet."
