I am too numbed by what has been dished out in the past months to either feel joy or sorrow at the prospect of the show's ending. For me Maaneet's intensity has been missing for months now, even the stalker track did not work for me. Gurti are fabulous no doubt (GC is especially looking extra yummy these days) but of late I've been feeling that they were acting as Maaneet and not living as the characters themselves (as they used to in the past). Maybe this is my own illusion,maybe it is not but the show has been meandering along with no proper direction for long. The show which had so much meat in it when it started had lost all the meat after a certain someone came on board and it was only a question of time before we stare at the inevitable. While I love Maan's dialogues of late (Barry is doing a fab job), too many such lines in quick succession somehow robs the intensity. I'd like to wish the cast and crew of the show all the very best for their respective careers. This was indeed a landmark show and will always remain close to my heart for Maan and Geet will remain the icons of all lovers/couples.

@Opti: Beautiful post. I completely agree with every word you have said. While it's been some time since I watched Geet because they story was really good (the last time being the brief BR track) it has become a huge part of my day to day life. That is what I will feel most robbed of when it ends.

In addition I feel a lot of anger at the people who didn't care enough to hire someone better than MP, or conversely, fire him when he was doing such a horrendous job. A show that had such a strong, emotionally driven story, strong characters and a fabulous cast could have been taken in so many directions. I hope they come out with a justification for all the nonsense they put us through and it better be good.

Maaneet will always be icons of love for me and came at a perfect time when I was grappling with the definition of love, myself. I can't thank the makers enough for their definition of love.

Since they have confirmed the news of the last day of telecast, I want them to show us a grand honeymoon, a short leap and maybe a baby Khurana just to give us a glimpse of how Maaneet's baby will look like.
