Geet Hui Sabse Parayi ' More than just a show!
The word has been around that with the advent of Star Desh, shows have been axed and fans of Geet Hui Sabse Parayi have been anxious, fearful and downright paranoid about their favorite show being axed. The makers 4 Lions Films also said on their Facebook wall that it is in the hands of Channel and one should approach them to appeal for the continual existence of a show that has been like a religion to over 2.5 lac fans on the Worldwide Web. Not just evident from the fan base on the Facebook page of Geet by the producers but it has set the tone for the actors who have become a rage with the fans. The best Jodi, The best Director, the best DOP in short the best Team is what the fans and even awards have given them the titles.
We at Telly Tadka have been fans of the show and also have seen lot happen with the show whether there are ups and downs, the TRP playing havoc with storyline or storyline playing havoc with the TRPs, the show has definitely elicited lot of involvement all around.
Recently, we all saw a change in the track, a stalker has entered the lives of Maan and Geet to disrupt their lives. We saw the entry in the usual Geet Hui Sabse Parayi trademark style; a song sequence to make an impact. Has it? Well the fans have mixed reviews. Some loved it, while others called it a jumping around session. Some called it a waste and not part of the characterization. Love it or Hate it but one cannot ignore anything happening on the show. One also saw bytes from the actors Gurmeet Choudhary and Vikas Sethi (both spoke to Telly Tadka about this sequence), the director of photography talk about the sequence. You all heard and saw the picture, but yes picture was not complete.
I happened to be on the set when the sequence was being shot and here is what I saw. Utter professionalism from the actors, sheer tenacity and dedication from the technicians i.e. Director Sundeep Sharma, DOP Hrishikesh Gandhi, Abhishek ' who was coordinating the passing, Raju the lighting, the setting dada, Manish the production manager. All were working in tandem, why because they love what they do.
The sequence was to have Vikas Sethi aka Vikram sing the song and terrorise Geet played by Dhrashti Dhami and Maan played by Gurmeet Choudhary who wants to protect his love from every trouble. Helping along is the supporting cast, Praneet Bhatt playing Adi, Sameer Sharma playing Dev, Melanie Peis playing Nandini, Ranjeev Verma playing Mamaji, Ahwaan playing Lucky and Khushboo playing Preeto. The sequence was choreographed by Kenil and he and his assistant were rehearsing the steps minutes before they were to show them to the actors. The actors were shown the steps minutes before the shots were taken. And it took three takes to finalize the song. Why because the actors felt they could give a better shot when the Director and DOP felt it was OK. Dhrashti Dhami insisted on giving another shot. Now that is professionalism. Learning the steps on the fly and performing in minutes is another feather on the caps of these actors who when they gave bytes did not talk about the difficulties they faced but talked about how they enjoy working and how the final product is important. Whether it was Gurmeet, Dhrashti, Sameer or other ensemble cast who devised their steps themselves and worked as a team.
