Do I hear praise for Barry and all his splendour? Count me in!
I think I am in love with the man. 😳 He does such beautiful things with such simple words. His writing can be breathtaking or tragic or funny or secretly snarky or, well everything all in one! And his story-writing is wonderful as well. he writes like he means it, like he is invested in the characters as much as we are. Ahem, he is single, right? I might have to get on that! 😆 I will be sure to use Faria's helfpful tips from page 1. 😉
And what can I say about Sundeep? All I can think of is THANK YOU! The way he shows those little caresses, those gestures, those placements of the hands, it just makes so much of a difference to the Maaneet scenes, when they are out of context like this. If we think about it, this is pretty much the same context as the Amritsar track. Geet and Maan sneaking around, while solving everybody and their wives' problems, with Mamaji almost finding them everywhere. 🤢
BUT the scenes are so much more meaningful and well, HOT!!! Showing Maan's arms grab Geet in the mirror reflection was just brilliant because we had the double whammy of the hands and the expressions. And then in the last scene he focused on Maan's hand slide from Geet's waist to her hair...I nearly fainted, enough said. It doesn't take anything extra from the actors side but Sundeep knows how to optimise whatever the hands can do and wherever they can go...
And finally, Gurti! Wow, I am just in awe of these two magical unicorns of hope and delight! 😆
Z, this is the response I wrote to your post in the MF in which I gush about this last member of the make GHSP worth watching trifecta:
Today's Maaneet, especially that last scene was incredibly sweet!
I love that it started off with serious talk about the jokers and then moved on to Maan's flirting, oh that madat line just KILLED me! And I loved Geet wrapping her arms around his broad shoulders and I loved her chin sort of digging into his shoulder and then it went from flirty and fun to the stuff of eternal love and Geet's dialogue was like the one Maan said to her just after KBM. I love how for a second Geet seemed a little surprised at how much Maan missed her and how freely he expressed it and it just melted her heart, I mean how could it NOT???
And then she got a little flirty in her turn and playfully mentioned how much noise his heart was making and he said it was because she was close to it!!! I mean, EEE!!!! Right?
And thus they transitioned seamlessly from fun and flirty to intensely romantic in seconds and then back again! Genius, I tell you, genius!!!
These two make magic! ☺️
