@Medha:There u go ..promos show promise but the episodes disappoint ...why ? because promos r shot by channel promo team which Geet admin on FB wall hv confirmed it many times while episodes r shot by PH ...

thats the reason our anger is on PH and not channel ...because the original ideas by channel which reflects in the promos which they make r not executed properly by the CV team of the PH in the episodes which we see ...

@Opti:Gul khan of 4lions herself confessed it was her idea to show Dev forgiveness ...u can read the whole TT interview of Gul khan .so why assume here and blame the channel ?? PH knew it all about Dev forgiveness because their main spherehead Gul khan herself said this in the interview ,...or else till a piont even we thought its channel ka decision and kept bashing the channel but TT interview opened our eyes and from then on we lost faith in any member of this 4Lions PH

Went thru the last few pages and see pretty good discussion going on.

Medha, Usha, Opti, I agree with you completely. I too watched the show for the character sketches and the interaction of the characters - opposite ends of the spectrum influencing each other. Mere 'Mahi' tends to get boring pretty soon... I remember in the earlier days of the show too there were lots of complaints about the 'chillaying atmas'

Jyoti, I agree with you that some people who are forced to grow up ahead of time do tend to relax and let go when they have the opportunity to do so in a safe and secure environment - that would be Geet.

The other end of the spectrum is true too - some other people who are forced to grow up ahead of time turn into very serious minded folks who cannot relax, take things too seriously, need to be in control all the time - that would be Maan.

About the discussion on "do the basic traits of a person change with time and circumstances?"

My opinion is YES - for the simple reason that the basic traits of a person are formed due to the circumstances and experiences in life. We all tend to see life through the filters of our prejudices, ideas, beliefs - all due to the life we are exposed to. We tuck away the lessons learnt from the various events into the recesses of our minds. Any new incident or event is seen mainly in relation to those experiences.

If events happen that question one's beliefs I would think most of us would take a pause and reflect on it and change our stance thus adjusting our beliefs to accommodate the change. This I think is a natural part of growing.

HI devils, everyone- Opti, Medha, Usha, Jyoti, Faria, Pixie-Dust, Shreya and anyone else I may have missed
This is a great discussion going on here which I would love to join in seeing as you are all talking my thoughts about the epi and the show so well.

Work, however, has taken over my life right now, so I am grabbing these few spare moments I have to say thank you for this wonderful discussion- whatever the show may or may not have achieved, it has brought out some really good intelligent debate and more important bonded us together!

The last 2 epis have been a great demonstration of what I have felt about this show for ages- the cvs have never had a story to tell, this has been a major problem as I never know what the show was about. It was never clear to me whether this story was about a girl rising above her circumstances and problems or whether it was about finding love and then finding a way to keep that love in the face of reality. And because the cvs haven't throught it through, though they managed to give us the fantastic M and G in the first few months of the show, they have relentless butchered these 2 characters since January, which is such a pity as there was so much potential both in the characters and in the actors who are playing them.

It was always clear the cvs have never thought beyond 2 days. Which is why we have a show where the only story seems to be the 2 lead characters constantly having to rescue themsleves and their relationship which keeps running aground like a storm-tossed ship. Why cannot they be shown to be a steady relationship and DO something? I don't know!

And then to top it, there is this tremendous, uprecedented chemistry between the 2 lead actors which the viewers can't get enough of and the cvs don't know how to handle or manage. Which is why the show lurches from the sublime to the ridiculous like it has done in these 2 weeks amd also in the past, which is why M and G swing between being the real people with integrity and strength of charachter that we so love on and the caricature versions whom we cannot relate to and who annoy us beyond tolerance like G did yesterday.

@Opti I loved your post reflecting on your own circumstances and seeing your own behaviour reflected in G's behaviour yesterday. I too felt as you did- I did not like it and nothing justifies her irresponsibility as regards the file, but I could understand her desire to have the chance to let go - after all she's had nothing but endless troubles to deal with and she's never had chance to let go. And she is young and so in love.
But the cvs could have shown us this in a much better way instead we got an irritatingly behenji G, who is obviously the creation of some brainless MCP among the Cvs. Hope his wife has a big belan ready for him tonight or I'll send her one.

But basically I blame the cvs for not having a story to tell and not having the vision or the courage to use the acting skills of these terrifc actors to good use. Worse they have respected neither the appreciation nor the intelligence that the viewers brought with them to the show.

Seems to me, the cvs stumbled upon these wonderful characters and the two actors who could play them so well and then had no idea what to do with them. Even Swati, the person who created the characters, had probably no real story to tell beyond the first few evetns and incidents that brought M and G together. I am being harsh, but I think, all of us viewrs have been treated very badly by the Cvs, the PH, and the channel. No business can run for long on a profit only basis and have little regard for its customers. That is what the channel has been doing.

I also blame some of the viewers for their incessant demand for romance and maahiis. Maahii has stopped touching me for a whole while now- there is only so much chocolate and ice cream one can have, a point comes when you want a proper balanced meal! Life post marriage is very different, even the best of romances and love have to stand up to the test of reality and life.

I cannot understand why we cannot have a real story with people, which, while, making us feel good also makes us reflect on ourselves, our relationships and the values by which we live. One can entertain without descending into farce and fiasco. Unfortunately the cvs seem to think otherwise.

I can sense something fishy in this TC article it came yesterday & we got devini episode back to back it came specially on a day when SO office is closed for two days & we are getting episodes full of devini does the PH has a hand in it so that nobody calls the channel tomorrw to request them for not ending the show & this show is not transfered to another PH house by the channel & the PH can close the show my request is that please don't fall in their trap & do call SO offices in huge numbers mail them so that they do not change their decision of giving geet an extention in october I have decided to tell the channel people the main reason behind low trps I will tell them how much HATE the amritsar circus & more than that how inefficient this thing called MP is but I will also tell them that we want more of maneet & that I want the original team back to do so if they want to change the PH then they should do it all I want is the same maan&geet with a strong story

Murlal, Hi! Exactly - I don't get it either. And, one can entertain without turning the stories into documentaries either - which seems to be a concern to people in portraying realistic stories.

Life provides so many interesting day to day incidents - some that seem all absorbing/over whelming at the moment but can be laughed at when looking back, some serious ones that are learning moments, some fun-filled moments, some life altering moments etc. They can be woven into interesting tracks, isn't it?
