i dunno watz the hullabulloo surrounding this epi (30th aug) except that we got overdose of devini which is nothing new...after a fab last week honestly i was not expecting much from this week...

i just read lots of views going around regarding geet's OTT attitude towards mumbai trip...frankly i fail to see where geet went overboard...

she has always been like this...bubbly, full of fun, masti loving and always eager to hv that extra fun only to see a subdued maan as response to her enthusiasms...and this i am talking wen maan was normal...

i want to put forward some of my POV's regarding this entire ML stuff...

Maan...he has forgotten geet, his marriage to her, the entire love saga and he has even forgotten the deep love that he holds for her...maan we know always stresses upon honest feeling rather than outward attractions...and this is the reason y though maan is getting attracted towards geet because of her beauty and innocence...he refuses to take even a single step towards her until and unless he starts developing feelings for her...
geet is like some stranger slowly turning into a close somebody...i call it somebody because maan still finds it difficult to acknowledge the fact that she is his wife..."wife" is not a loose term for maan unlike dev...he doesnt remember the wedding...the ceremonies, the vows that he took with her...for him geet just came into his life a few days back about whom he knows absolutely nothing except that she has good-for-nothing bro, sis and mamaji...
the constant jabberings by dev and dadima that geet is his lawfully wedded wife...seems to hv hammered into his brain that he is married and he cannot deny that...although he understands geet is profoundly in love with him and his family is very happy with her...still he feels a vacancy in him wenever he is with her...
he tries to respond to her feelings...he tries to understand her expectations but fails to gv anything in return because he doesnt feel that urge in him because in his conscious mind she holds no place in his heart...

today wen maan has got this mumbai wedding invitation...geet as expected is very excited about the trip...let me be honest...in spite of maan being an extremely loving, caring and doting husband life with him can get boring for a bubbly and fun loving girll like geet...before ML maan used to fulfill all her desires...used to smile with her...this is because for him only thing mattered was that geet is happy and that was enuf to make him enjoy werever they r...

but now no such feelings exist in maan's mind...that geet desires to go to mumbai, wants to enjoy the wedding means nothing to maan...yes, he promised himself that he will keep geet happy...by that he meant that he will not be rude with her...will acknowledge all that she does for her and will not hurt her feelings...but to expect that maan will hv that extra understanding for geet is just not rite...for maan this invitation is as unimportant as it is for an unsocial person like him...it is not even final whether he himself will go because he is not one to leave work to attend a wedding in another city...
geet's excitement fails to reach him...because at present his mind doesnt allow her to affect him like early days...whereas geet is waiting eagerly for maan to say something about the trip...on the other hand maan is absolutely unaware of geet's desire...for him the trip is of little value and his mind cannot fathom that this same trip can mean a lot for geet...
wen geet herself has no hold over maan's emotions at present...it is no surprise that her dreams and desires fail to arouse his sensibilities...

Geet...for her maan is her world...like she said on maan's bday party day that maan ls the only person with whom she can make expectations...and so the child in her looks at him with eagerness in her eyes and like dreamlike trance she roams around him with full trust that maan will of course take her along with him...
here is the problem that is hapening with geet...although she knows that maan has forgotten everything and so he is totally changed and is back to his reserved self...still geet cannot fathom the extent to which maan has changed...like earlier days geet expects maan to read her feelings...to jump up and say that he is going nowhere widout her...
although geet knows that at present maan doesnt love her...the fact is that she cannot fathom that he has "absolutely" no feelings for her...
for me geet was not OTT...just that she needs some reality check that as far as geet goes maan's life is like a clean slate...and she needs to write her name on it first before expecting anything from him...

i dunno how much i hv been able to explain...but this is the most i can do...

bottomline is that maan doesnt remember her and so although he is being civil with her because of her goodness...but that is just a gentlemanly attitude of maan towards geet and nothing else...he has not yet developed any marital obligations towards her...

Must say, interesting post :)
You have come up with some valid points which I agree with. Indeed there is nothing OTT about Geet's behaviour towards the Mumbai trip. As you rightly mentioned, this is exactly how she has always been and it is very much keeping in line with her bubbly and lively nature. But yes, she does need to remember that Maan has not yet recovered. He has decided to give Geet the status of a wife but he has yet to remember their relationship and how he was truly madly and deeply in love with her.

Clearly Maan feels guilty for the way he treated Geet and that's why he is trying to make an effort. His intentions are genuine but they are not filled with love...at least not yet. But poor Geet is unlcear about this and as you said, needs a reality check. Recent developments have led to Geet becoming over excited and she has become caught up in the idea that Maan is changing. Yes he has softened and he is mesmerized by her beauty and there is that attraction. But the Maan Singh Khurana that loved Geet unconditionally has yet to show up. Obviously it is not Maan's fault. He cannot help the fact that he has lost part of his memory- a very important part which he himself does not deny. On the other hand, Geet is not to be blamed either. The man of her dreams, her soulmate and companion is right in front of her. How could she not want things to be how they always were.

as for the post, i agree with everything you said...the only thing why i felt that she was OTT was because Geet herself had said that she will maintain distance from him...will let him be...give him space, and yet she is once again following him around...calling him when he is in meetings...and for that i felt it didn't make sense! Otherwise, it was fine...BUT i still wanted her to be mature...being bubbly is fine, we all know Geet defines bubbliness...but i wished that she just went with her word...and gave him space...

but then again i kinda think she did, but she didn't...u know what i mean?? If this was the old geet, she would have most likely spilled the beans and said take me to mumbai...BUT since she knows maan doesn't remember her...there isn't any same feeling from him as she has...and so she is kinda hoping that he would invite her...so in a way i guess it COULD MAKE SENSE...😛

Rafaholic...as u ritely said maan who loved geet unconditionally is yet to show up...i feel it is very necessary for this show to make maan remember everything...otherwise this maaneet love story will never be the same...the current maan although is trying to bridge some of the gap between him and geet and also by the current promo it is clear he is ready to marry her for the second time so that he can start normal life with her widout any hesitation...but the fact will remain that maan's love will never be unconditional and reason-less like before...
for me...where there is reason there is no love...and this is the case here...maan will love geet because he has been told that geet is his wife...that magic will never return unless maan gets back his memory...

shibu...teacherji...wat wud i do widout u...u know i rarely open threads...but this time i felt i had to gv my POV...yes geet promised maan that she wud gv him space...but some things r easily said than done and here we can easily excuse geet...it is not easy to stop herself from getting carried away with a husband who is know as the most doting and patnivrata hubby...although she knows he is not the same anymore...but his civil manner with her is breaking her resolve and makes her forget that he needs space...i wudnt blame her...i promise many things too but under situations i too get carried away and then i go by the saying "promises r made to be broken" LOL...

👏 👏....Wow wonderful post dear. U have analysed and explained Maan and Geet's nature and behaviour so correctly and in such a simple way that it is so very easy to fathom out what is going about in their minds and its impact on the happenings in their lives.

Particularly Maan's behaviour after ML is totally in line with his character before he fell in love with Geet. For him to revert to being Geet's Maan he will have to develop feelings for her.He is not a person to commit himself to a relationship without having any feelings for the opposite person.So all we can do is to wait for him to fall for Geet and then only will he accept her as his wife in every meaning of the word.

I can only say one thing...Awesome Analysis and thanx for the wonderful post.

mehek...thanx a lot for reading...and yes i guess it is for us to wait and watch for maan to fall for geet again...but all said and done i want maan to get back his memory...because the old love was unconditional and unreasoned...and this time he has a reason as geet is his wife...
