One second. While I totally respect the views of the members on this thread, I am not totally in agreement. I like reading the spoilers and don't really mind if they are explicit. At most they can give a rough skeletal outline of what happens in the episode. For me they don't really ruin the episode at all but make me more excited to watch it!

I don't check those facebook pages but like getting the updates here. Is it possible, instead of trashing them all together, to maybe make it a rule to indicate in the title that the post contains content from these FB pages so that people who don't want to read the spoilers can avoid them altogether? Or maybe you can make it a rule that they have to be posted exclusively on the dedicated thread? I have read this view from a few others as well, that is, that they like reading spoilers, and so it isn't exactly the general, unanimous consensus that they hurt the show and need to be obliterated.

Can we find some middle ground here?

Isn't there a specific thread in this forum that has a compilation of all the FB news? I think it's called the Geet FB Corner.

I could swear the topic maker had assured us that she has been given the permission by the Mods to open such a thread.

I agree with skg267 that there are a lot of people in this forum who love to read spoilers even if they are detailed. It creates excitement and doesn't necessarily kill our curiosity.

I think people on both sides of the issue should be catered to...Those who don't want to read the spoilers could keep away from such posts (they don't do that actually...they read them anyway and post comments!) The TM could post a disclaimer to warn those members who don't want their curiosity killed.

As for the rest of us, who don't mind the spoilers in whatever form they come in, can continue enjoying them.


PS: I just noticed that the Mod has asked for all FB news to be posted on the thread that I've mentioned above. I hope it means that all spoilers, if even if they are detailed like the one that has been closed are allowed to be posted there.😊

It is not a proven fact that they don't help the show and In my opinion, spoilers actually do help the show because they build up excitement for me to watch the episode and I know there are others like me. Some people don't like the tension and suspense, they like to know what happens in the end and then enjoy the journey there. I guess we have to agree to disagree as our opinions are different.

These tidbits are one of the many reasons I come to IF, because I can find discussion about every aspect of the show here. Why should we make FB and IF mutually exclusive if both provide material and discussion about the show? I have never seen any info about the actors from faceboon in the few months I have been on GF and what's wrong with talking about upcoming scenes? It provides topics for discussion, predictions, basically more posts and we want that right? I don't think it spoils the mood at all, in fact it is a big part of the mood of IF for me and why I started coming here as a silent reader.

If you see, on the post in question jyoti06 closed it but told the TM to post such updates only on the dedicated thread. I think this is a great compromise so both people who like the spoilers and those who don't can choose what they want to do about them.

@Skg267 and pippa: The FB Corner thread is already allowed and if spoilers r posted there ,then its fine but off late posts r made posting whole next episode summary from few FB pages which had earlier leaked the videos of next episode too ...I dont think its spoiler ..its more of episode leak which is against IF rules as well and so such topics cant b allowed 😊
