Who is Right and Who is Wrong...?

Since the start of the Holi MU track this has been a common topic of discussion on this forum. Several posts have been made on it and many have been criticising Geet for her rash action of leaving KM and MSK. Several times I have been tempted to write a post on this but always I hesitated to voice my opinion. The main reason for my hesitation is that I am no writer and when I read all the lovely poetic posts on this forum I get a feeling of inadequacy. Anyways today I self-thought that whatever the reaction I am going to write something on this much debated topic.

First we all have been told (by the CVs thru Geet of course) that Geet was most hurt by Maan's dialogue because she felt that he had doubted her integrity. His sentence..."what has Dev done that u have forgiven him" and the "begairat" dialogue had left her totally broken. Note that since the farmhouse fiasco where MSK had misunderstood her he had been totally aloof and withdrawn from her. She had noticed his attitude and had been hurt by it. Then when on Holi day he had uttered those words they were like the straw that broke the camel's back, and she preferred to walk out of the house. Here we must understand her state of mind that made her do this. She had lost the baby she had fought tooth and nail to protect. She was mentally and emotionally broken and at such a time such a taunt from the husband she loves desperately was the last thing she would have expected. That of course explains her decision.

Now coming to the question was she correct to take this step? Yes given her mental state at that time she was right.

Second question which has been commonly asked is why was she being so stubborn and did not go back when Maan met her in the market and asked her to go back with him? A simple answer to this question is if she had forgiven him at the drop of a hat (I mean as soon as he came and said sorry come back with me) where would have been her self-respect?. Here I would like to ask one question...had Geet gone back so soon would it not have made Maan feel that all he had to say was a sorry and because she loved him she would always forgive him. By not giving in to him so soon she may have been stubborn but at the same time she also made him realise the gravity of his statements and his anger. I personally feel that by doing so she has made him realise that a person can't always give in to his temper and say whatever he wants to say without hurting the other's feelings. I think that if she had forgiven him earlier he would have repeated his mistake again in the future. Every time she displeased him he could have used this against her... Pls note that i am saying this from experience. I have seen the case of an aunt of mine who had been married earlier and divorced. When she re-married her present hubby no doubt loved her a lot. But he too had a nasty temper and every time she tried to exert her will he would bring the past up and fight. Because of her love for him and also her feeling of being indebted to him for having married her and her kids of course she would keep quiet and let him have his way. He is not bad. He is very loving but because she always kept quiet (being a typical Hindustani wife) this kept happening. Now of course they are totally matured and these things don't happen any more. Why I thought of writing this is because she also loves the show and watches it religiously. When I recently met her after ages and we were discussing the show I mentioned these differences of opinions and she said only one thing to me which made me realise that Geet was right... she said.."I hope I would have had the guts to do the same thing initially then I would not have had to suffer the mental torment I have suffered for many years"...

I of course have always stood by the CVs and Geet's decision and after reading this I hope some of those who think Geet was wrong will try to understand a woman's POV also.

I have only written my thoughts in simple language . Sorry but I am one who deals with brass facts and have simply expressed my POV here. If I have hurt any-one's feelings I am sorry.

Hi .. I'm a silent reader of this forum...

I do not criticize Geet's actions for leaving MSK... it was quite a bit justfied... but what I feel is it was equally her fault in wat MSK spoke... as a wife she should have understood wat her husband feels... specially for Dev... n see as a character she never thinks of Maan... when they lost their baby she thought of her grief... what about Maan ?? He too had lost his baby and many other times..

When Dev's truth was out... she had very easily suspected Maan and insulted him left right n centre.. and as u said in that farmhouse incident also her actions forced Maan to do whatever he did.

Although it is not justified in any case to get down to petty actions for someone else's wrong actions...

She has forgotten what all Maan has done for her in the past.. if they would have shown a little more understanding b/w both of them during holi time in sense Geet understanding Maan's state of mind and Maan understanding her reasons...

And I also feel had it been the other way round , if Geet would have insulted Maan or done anything wrong he would have forgiven her very easily as he has done before always... He would have never let her suffer n get insulted in front of anyone else...

After all they both are characters and if such situations come in real life no person can be like these two. So at itmes it becomes very difficult to judge who is right and who's wrong..

P.S - Personally I just don understand how can the CV's show Geet forgiving Dev at any cost ... I just hated it and now Maan is also ok with it... I mean what has Dev suffered after such a wrong deed !!!!!!
