The whole issue with Geet's characterization in this track is that we have no insight into her thoughts. People are not able to understand the extent of damage those 2 lines from MSK has done on her. People who think that those 2 lines were not that grave are hating Geet at present. People who think that those lines were extremely hurtful and Geet going in depression is obvious after that, were able to understand Geet till Saturday. They are failing to understand Geet since yesterday. And there are people who think those 2 lines destroyed Geet's life completely and so they still feel connected to her character. The point is, people are seeing the hurt Geet is feeling from those 2 lines the way they want to and this is because cvs have failed to make us feel Geet's pain and hurt through her self-talks or with her talks with MSK or anyone else, specially after MSK entered as Ballu. if Geet's POV is not told to us, audience will obviously start seeing Geet's pain from their own POV. First she was depressed, so we did not expect any self-talks from her. But ever since she saw MSK as Ballu, she has clearly been out of depression, so why have we still not seen a self-talk from Geet on why she is still not able to get over the hurt caused by MSK after seeing how much MSK is doing to have her back. On Saturday we saw that she did realize he did not mean those words to her. So on Monday, instead of continuing her realization process (she finding out somehow about MSK walking on burning coal), they took her character back to square one, hence majority of us felt disconnected with her character.
Her realization process which had begun since she saw MSK as Ballu abruptly came to end yesterday and it continues to be so even today. Now suddenly she will realize when Ballu gets hurt and will forgive him. Instead of this, they should have shown Geet's gradual realization process, where she learn with each passing episode, one fact after another about MSK's pain and repentance. Like yesterday she could have learnt about MSK's repentance in dargah (walking on buring coal), today from Dev she could have learnt how MSK was suffering since baby's death (out here Dev would shed light only about MSK's pain, not really comment on their relationship). And then as she would decide in her mind that its time she forgave her husband, the akhaada fight would take place, leading her to finally unite with MSK and clear all the issued between them. The akhaada fight should not have been the only reason she forgave him (as seen as of today), the process should have been gradual. Her gradual realization was going fine till Saturday......all leading to the climax, but since 2 episodes they messed it up totally, bringing everything to square one with Geet continuously repeating those infamous lines.
In these 2 episodes, they could also show us Geet's self-talk about how deeply she has been hurt due to MSK's words and why she is not able to get over it even when she wants to. We did see some talks from her before MSK entered as Ballu, but at that time she was not healed. Till Saturday I thought she was in her healing process, so her self-talks were important at this stage too.
It is intolerable to us that she is not standing up for MSK, but why she is not doing this we dont know. It is so unlike her. Again her self-talk is missing her. Yes we can sit here and analyze and analyze, but why should be analyze, should cvs not tell us the reason behind why certain character is behaving in a certain manner.
The whole problem lies in execution of Geet's character and I do not blame the audience for loosing patience at the moment. This time it is only cvs to be blamed. Even if their idea was good, their execution got messed up, as usual.
Let me remind you'll of Geet's realization process after IP fiasco. As much as I hated IP episodes, her realization process was brilliantly executed. Starting with Diwali night when for the first time she got some insight into MSK's pain. Then after slap fiasco, she realized that she did not want to go away from MSK when MSK left her for her sake. Then when she saw NT in office, she did not doubt MSK (showing she did not go back to square one), but instead was hurt as to why MSk is not telling her the whole story. Then when she heard MSK-NT convo, she realized her mistake and next day asked for forgiveness. Now it was MSK's turn to speak his heart out for her to have an insight into his thinking process. Geet realizing the whole thing by now, cleared his doubts and both united. This is how a gradual realization should be shown. Not once did Geet go back to square one, in fact she learnt 1 fact after another with each passing episode to enable her to better understand where she erred. It would have been great had cvs done the same for this track.......Geet slowly learning 1 fact after another leading to the climax. MSK's realization we saw, we were in the process of seeing Geet's realization, but it was abruptly stopped yesterday....to be continued tomorrow or on Thursday I guess. Thats why for these 2 days I lost connection with Geet because cvs lost connection with her realization process.
