i have not written in soooo long!!! But even then here it goes....
Today the main concept of the episode was to say those three special words that bring joy and love into a relationship of any kind.
I know us girls were going nuts when geet did not want to say "i love you" to maan, hell even i was going insane because she wasn't saying it. I was especially getting upset when she said that maan is a guy and that he should say it first!!
We are in the 21st century, now a girl can propose to a guy and it would be totally normal. Yes we normally see the guy propose...and feel that it is appropriate for the guy to propose because that is the kind of world we are living in. I will be honest here to, yes girls can propose, and there is nothing wrong in it...but because we are soo desensitized in seeing on TV always the guy proposing..doing sweet things for their lady love....we have this whole dream in our minds...that the guy we love will do the same! So even i would find it weird for a girl to propose....but sayin "i love you" is not weird....that i feel anyone can say it.
However, now that i think logically and i open up my world of pyschology....thinking about the background geet is from, what she is doing....feeling is completely justified. Geet has come from a family in which she was loved by her parents....but she also had her darji and brother who created a harsh environment for her. Many times maybe her parents were not able to show their love for her....and it is true.....because even when Geet was going through hardtimes...her parents not once stood up for their daughter. So Geet pretty much has lived a "toughed" life. Usually who lived in a harsh household have a hard time in expressing the word "i love you verbally"
Also because it is possible that geet is "confused".....this is also normal.....her parents showed her love....but her grandfather and brother always showed violence...hatred.....which in terms can create a confusion in young teen or even a child. Often times because of that, the three words are no longer essential to them...nor does it hold any meaning!
In geet's case she is not confused....she knows that she loves maan, but she is scared that if she loves him, will he disappear?? Deep down in her heart she knows that maan would never hurt her...but still mentally she needs some convincing!! She needs to know that before she says those words to maan, if he is her "going to be life partner"....if he is her soul mate....which is why she wishes for him to say them first.
If you notice the expressions on geet's face when she accidently blurts out that she wants him to say them....was her insecurity speaking.....
then she tried to cover it up by sayin that he is a man, and that he should say it first! that was just an excuse on her part!!!
What maan is doing according to him is correct, but if he understood geet well enough, he should realize that those words are no joke to geet!! That he should not force her to say them....instead just give her time!!! In time when she knows it is the time to, she will say it herself.....
in time, she will know that he is hers....that he will not disappear like everyone else in her family did.....that he is there forever for her.....until she does not realize this....will she not say them!!!
To make it easier, Maan should just say it......this will assure Geet that maan loves her....and she has heard it verbally....which will then also make her say them as well!!
All in all, nothing can happen if it is forced.....Maan should not force geet to say those words....as it is not easy for a girl like geet to verbally express those words.....so if maan wants to...as assurance he can start it and express his feelings to her....and in return he will get the same!!
**Notice, that everything is not associated with age...and also....even though many kids grow up in harsh families....some are not effect negatively**
