Ok. Richa , Did you go through my analysis and some of the discussions here? You can find your answer here. Anyway, I'll try to explain your dilemma here.

Your Q. is Maan should have used some other method to make Geet jealous right????

Here is why Maan did that. In my opinion, I can list down some points why he did that?

1. All of a sudden Maan realizes that Geet agrees to find the bride for him....putting him in an ambiguous situation.
2. Maan is unaware of the fact that Dadima also wants Geet to be his bride.
3. Maan is in a situation of fear that if he doesn't make Geet realize about her feelings then he can't show her to Dadima in 5 days. And then he has to marry the girl Dadima wants....
4.Maan is in a belief that Geet will leave her sometime as she always talk about leaving him and he is scared big time.
5. The only thing that is revolving in Maan's mind is he needs to buy time from Dadima and Geet in case he can't make Geet confide in him in 5 days then everything goes in for a toss.
6. Hence, the contract engagement is the back up plan for him.

So, these were the above reasons why Maan is going for a contract...as in case he can't get any confirmation from Geet in 5 days then he would still have more time to get that done. As far as contract thing goes he knows in that way Dadima's wish will be fulfilled and when time comes, I mean when Geet will confide in him, he can get rid of the contract easily to be tied up with Geet.

The basic catalyst in the contract is that Maan is unaware of Dadima's choice of bride. If he would have known that she also wants Geet to be his bride then he might not have taken the contract route and rather some other route.

As far as your another Q. goes, he already wanted Geet to list down the characteristics and preferences of his perfect bride.
