Chapter 1
"I will be fine, mom, dad." I said, for the last time I hoped
"Really Kripa, you don't have to go, you could stay here and study. There are lots of good universitites here as well," my mom pleaded with me for the thousandth time.
"Mom, I really wanna go, please. All my friends are going there as well. And I will visit you when ever I can," I quickly hugged her and my dad, and started towards the door before she could say anything else. My dad tried to explain to my mom but she just wouldn't listen. It's been my childhood dream to go to University of Alaska for some reason. I've always been dependent on my parents and brothers and now I wanna learn how to be independent. My dad understood and he agrees with me but then again when doesn't he? Being the only girl in the family with two violent brothers i might add, has its advantages.
My brother Jacob, who had been silently watching this whole "drama" walked behind me and muttered, "Oh so you're finally ready?"
"Shut up, Jake," I snapped at him.
"Honestly, I don't understand why mom is so sad, if i were her, i would be soooo happy," he said happily, his eyes twinkinling.
"Jerk," I muttered.
I finally reached the air port and Jake said grinning like an idiot, "Gosh, today is the happiest day of my life. You're finally going away. Thank you god."
"Oh shut up, you have no idea how happy I am that I don't get to see that ugly face of yours anymore," I said glaring at him.
He smacked me on my arm and hard. I'm pretty sure I'll have bruise.
"You're so lame. Every time you don't have a good come back you just hit me," before running, I quickly said "bye" knowing he would hit me again.
I already started to miss my parents as the plane took off. I really hope I survive these two years without them. I tried not to think about them knowing it would only make me miss them more. So here I am, moving from New York to Alaska to study( i know, only an idiot would do that), I've always wanted to live in Alaska, pretty weird isn't it? Anyways I was hoping I would have my own apartment and stuff, but my mom always worried about my safety, had said, "You can't live all by yourself in a country you hardly know espicially if you're a girl. An old friend of mine lives there and I've talked to them, and you're gonna live with them. End of discussion" I was very frustrated with my mom for a while, sure my brothers can live all by them selves, and do whatever they want, but I can't. But thankfully I got over it. So I am going to live with a family I hardly know for two whole years. I must admit I am very nervous. I hope they are nice.
I finally reached my destination and found the family whom I am going to stay, with waiting for me . There were three people, two women, and a man.
One of the women, who looked in her thirties, but I am pretty sure she wasn't, smiled warmly at me. She was very pretty. She was wearing a business suit and she light light brown eyes with dark brown wavy hair which was tied in a ponytail.
"Hi," she said, "I'm Samya Khanna"
I returned her smile, "Hello, I'm Kripa"
The man, who just like the woman also looked in his thirties, he had dark black hair, and dark green eyes. He was super tall and well built, smiled at me and introduced himself, "And I'm Arish Khanna. You can call us by our names if you want, we won't force you to call us Uncle or Aunty if you dont want to" My mouth dropped open in shock. I've never heard that one before.
"Uh, I.. No.. I mean I'm fine with calling you uncle and aunty," It'd be pretty rude to call some one by their names when they are like your parents age.
The other girl who looked in her late teens looked at me and smiled, "hi I'm Sanjana, but I prefer Sanju." Sanju, just like her mom and dad was damn good looking. She was around 5'8" and she was a brunette with dark green eyes just like her dad.
Damn. What is with these people and there good looks???
Sanju was very enthusiastic. She was very friendly and I could tell we were going to get along.
We entered a house, which looked more like a mansion. It was hugeeee. I thought only my family had a house like that. It had a huge garden and "stuff" in it, which I couldn't name since everything was covered in snow. There was a swimming pool, which was frozen. Why would anyone have a swimming pool outside their house in a country with weather this cold? Anyways, the inside of the houseI pretty similar to our house. The main difference was that, their house was soo damn clean, and... organized. There were two huge living rooms, which were across from each other seperated by a huge yet gorgeous staircase.
"So, you're the only child in the family?" I asked Sanju casually.
"No, I have two more siblings," she frowned, "an older sister, and an older brother. Speak of the devil and the devil shall appear." She looked straight ahead, I followed her gaze, and... OH. MY. GOD!!! At the bottom of the stair case, stood a man, who looked more like an angel and damn he was beautiful. Beyond Beautiful. He was gorgeous. He had dark brown hair, that was untidy yet sexy. His eyes, dark green, just like Sanju and their dad, were gorgeous and big. His nose, infact all his features were straight, perfect and angular. And oh my god, his lips... Those lips. Damn. They looked soo..... I couldn't find the right word. I wondered how they would feel. I suddenly had an overwhelming urge to crush my lips on his to... Holy crap. What is wrong with me????
He looked a serious weight lifter. His T-shirt was fitted so you could see how muscular his chest was.
His deep voice yet a sexy one interupted my thoughts, "Sanju" he sounded bored, "go make me some lasagna"
Sanju looked irritated, "You have your own hands and your own feet which unfortunately work. You can do it yourself." Wow. So I wasn't the only one whoe has brothers like that.
I giggled. That gorgeous guy suddenly turned to look at me as if he just realized that I was there and damn, what did i do? He was glaring at me.
"What's so funny?" he snapped.
Okay, I guess I know, I giggled.
"Oh..um..I..uh.. nothing," I finally managed.
He kept glaring at me like that, and the saying "If looks could kill" played in my head.
"Why is he glaring at me like that?" I muttered to Sanju.
"I guess you could say he has some "GLARING" problems," Sanju laughed.
Glaring problems???
"Anyways, this is kripa, and kripa this is Angad my dumb, gay brother." Sanju introduced us.
Did she just say gay?
"He's gay?" I asked shcocked. He certainly didn't look gay. I suddenly felt very embarrased by my thoughts earlier. "He looks pretty straight to me" I mumbled like an idiot.
Sanju burst out laughing.
Angad rolled his eyes, and told me irritated, "No, I'm not gay. Apparently, gay is the only word, Sanju seems to know."
"Oh.... my.... Kripa... you're...so funny... I.. din't .. mean.. it that way," Sanju said in between hysterics.
Oh. I see. People just call each other gay, when they are irritated and stuff. There are different types of discriptions for gay. Awww why am I sooo stupiddd??
"Oh, I get it," I said stupidly turning red, "sorry."
Angad muttered something that sounded like, "stupid people in my house" and gave me one last glare- again if looks could kill, and he headed off to the kitchen.
I could tell we weren't going to get along at all. If he continues to glare at me like that, I will definitely snap and say or do something that I might regret.
I am not the type of person who choses to get "bullied" and not say anything.
Ok, so how was it? This was the first chapter. I hope you guys liked it, pleaseee leave commentssss, and give mee some feedback.
