It was the photograph of Manik and Nandini.

Naksh stared at Manik and Nandini while they looked at him emotionally.

Naksh:What kind of a joke is this?

Manik:It is true.We are your parents.

Nandini:Yes,we only gave birth to you Naksh.

Naksh:It's a lie.I heard with my ears that I am not your son.

Manik:Did you hear us saying your name?

Naksh:No.But you were saying that ...

Nandini:We said that we have to tell him that he is not our real son.But it's not you,but Rudra.

Nandini's father Shekar was against Manik-Nandini's relationship.

Manik arranged a surprise for Nandini by decorating the area with lights.Nandini arrived their wearing a red gown.Manik was mesmerized by her beauty.

Manik held her hand.

Suddenly Nandini burst into tears.Manik was shocked.

Manik:What happened Nandini?

Nandini:Manik,my dad is not accepting our relationship.He is threatening that he will kill you.If so,I will kill myself.

Manik got angry.

Manik:How dare you say that you will commit suicide?Is our love that weak?

Nandini:Then what will we do Manik?Dad will kill you.

Manik:Your dad can't do anything to us.We will elope and marry.We will hide from him by staying away from him.He won't be able to trace us.

Nandini was stunned.

Nandini:Is it practical ?

Manik:Yes..it is.So be calm and enjoy.

He wiped her tears and led her to the table.He fed her dinner and she felt peaceful.

Nandini:Thank you for changing my mood Manik.

He smiled.

Manik-Nandini eloped to Manali and got shelter in Arjun-Pooja's home.Manik-Nandini got married in the presence of Arjun-Pooja.

Nandini gave birth to Naksh.All were very happy.After a year,Arjun-Pooja gave birth to Rudra.But the storm came as Nandini's father Shekar came to know about their whereabouts.Pooja informed the police as Shekar came there with the weapons.

He stared at Manik angrily:You are going to get finished.You deserve death for snatching my daughter from me.

Seeing him taking weapons, Nandini fainted due to fear.

Before manik could go near her,Shekar tried to stab Manik.But Arjun came in between and he got stabbed.

All were shocked.

Pooja held him tight.Arjun-Pooja stared at each other emotionally.

Pooja's lips shivered:Arjun!

Arjun:Protect Manik and Nandini...look after our son.

Pooja could'nt talk anything.Manik ran held Arjun.

Manik:No Arjun...nothing will happen to you.

Arjun's tears rolled down his cheeks.

Arjun:Please look after my Rudra like your son.I am sure that you will be a good father to him.

Manik wept.

He fell down dead.

Pooja screamed:Arjunnnnnnnnnnnnnn!

Pooja stared at Shekar and shouted:You killed my Arjun.I will kill you.

She took a bat to hit his head.Suddenly he stabbed her too.

Manik cried:Noooooooooooooo

But to the shock Pooja took one of his weapons and hit his head.Shekar fell down dead.

Manik held Pooja:Pooja..nothing will happen to you.Don't go.

Pooja:Manik...be practical.Promise me Manik that you will never let Rudra know pain like us.

Manik:I promise...

She closed her eyes taking her last breath.Manik wept silently.

Nandini opened her eyes regaining consciousness.She was horrified seeing the scenario and cried loudly.Manik embraced her.Both cried.

Present...

Manik:To save us Arjun and Pooja sacrificed their lives.

Nandini:They both had a painful death because of us.That guilt will never go from us..So we decided that we will not give any pain to Rudra.That's why we always asked you to sacrifice for Rudra.Please forgive us Naksh..not because we don't love you.

Naksh wept silently.

Manik:When Rudra had the psychiatric problem of hurting himself when he was in pain we were more guilty.We were scared whether because of us,Arjun Pooja's son will also have a painful death.Though according to the doctor, Rudra is cured,we are still scared.We feel that hurting Rudra is still risky.We are scared whether he will hurt himself again.

Nandini:As a mother I felt guilty of hurting you.That's why I told Manik that we will tell Rudra the truth.

Naksh:Don't tell him the truth.Rudra may not be able to bear the truth.

Nandini:Then Sitara?

Naksh:Let Sitara take the decision.Only she knows who she wants or whether she loves either one of us or someone else.

Nandini:Naksh is right Manik.What if Sitara does'nt love Manik?We can't force her.Right?Rudra has to accept it.

Manik nodded painfully.

Rudra is their adopted son not Naksh. Maybe they are overcompensating for Rudra.

Pooja was quite judgemental about Nandini and Manik. She did need that first kiss to loosen her up.

Nandini and Manik had to run away and get married, but her father found them still.

Nandini and Manik always tried to keep Rudra away from pain. But some pain is part of life.
