Part 18
Kripa had finally found what she had been looking for all these years. She had found Angad Khanna; she had not herself realized when she had fallen in love with him. But she knew she had been in love with him for a very long time now. She had been denying it to herself, labeling it as lust, but last night had proved her wrong. That voice that had been stifled with the emotional abuses that she had once endured had been awakened. She had wanted some one after so many years to make love to her, and not simply sleep with her. Some might say that there is no difference between the two, but she knew better. He was what she wanted, but as a whole, with his body, soul and mind. And this time nothing was going to stop her.
Angad didn't understand what was wrong with him. Last night had been all wrong; he had never lost control before then why now. He wanted her so bad, even now that she wasn't near, and he was able to think clearly, the back of his mind was making plans of its own. He hated himself, if she hadn't stopped him last night… then what? He asked himself, what was the worst that could have happened, they were married and nothing would have mattered. To him maybe, but to Kripa it obviously mattered. She hated him. He hit his fist on the wall angrily. Life was so simple before she came along.
When Angad walked into the room early in morning. He found Kripa crouched on the floor, with her head on the love seat, fast asleep. She looked so beautiful early in the morning that he had to resist the temptation of giving her a kiss. He had to meet Sia, he reminded himself, over and over again. The hot and beautiful Sia, with deep sea green eyes, he said trying to convince his mind but was unable to stir any excitement. She was just another girl now. Damn it he wanted to talk to Kripa, he wasn't going to sneak in and out of here like a mouse!! He wanted to see if last night had affected her in a way that it had affected him; Unable to resist the temptation he slammed the door of the closet hard. Kripa woke up slightly confused, her light brown eyes meeting Angad's honey colored ones.
"Sorry" he said unapologetically. The sorry stirred Kripa's memory as last night came back in a rush.
"Oh" she said in surprise. And then they waited for something to happen, for someone to say something. After few seconds of waiting Kripa sighed and broke away from his gaze, making her way to the bathroom.
"Umm…Kripa" Angad said wanting to say so much.
"Yes?" She said waiting expectantly.
Angad opened his mouth to speak. Kripa I don't know what's happening to me…I think I am going crazy…I can't stay away from you…I want you…he thought, but instead he said, "Never mind"
Kripa nodded her head once and turned away. But before she could take another step towards the bathroom there was a knock on the door, she sighed in frustration and went to open the door while Angad searched her actions and reactions for some sign.
"Yes" She said to the butler outside her door. He handed her a card.
"We are inviting all the people currently residing in the hotel to a party held every year in the honor of the maker. The food here will be absolutely free. The dress code is strictly semi-formal. And we hope that you will come with your spouse and enjoy." The Butler looked up from the paper that he was reading gave her a small smile and then moved on.
"Sweet, a free party." Angad said hoping to lighten Kripa's mood but failed miserably, she simply put the card on the bed and went to take her shower, not even bothering to waste a look on him. This for some reason offended him; it was now clear that Kripa wasn't going to be the only one that would be playing a game in the party tonight.

Semiformal was a tricky word, it meant just the right blend of formal and casual. But despite the confusion Kripa and Angad had done an excellent job of dressing up. Angad had on a black coat with white shirt underneath (no tie keeping the "semi" part in mind). It was nothing too fancy, yet made him look more like a male model rather then a handsome 23 year old. Kripa was dressed more on the formal side rather then casual, she had on an exuberant black dress that brought out her curves; a bit of makeup that made her usually plain face too beautiful for casual, the only thing that indicating that she had abided by the "semi" rule was that she had on no jewelry.
So it was really no surprise to anyone when heads turned as they entered the lavishly decorated hall. There were many whispers of 'made for each other' but only the two knew the truth of their relationship. It was also a no surprise to anyone that within 5 minutes of their arrival they were on the dance floor. What was shocking was the fact that they weren't dancing with each other. Angad had been asked first. It wasn't that Kripa didn't look as beautiful, it was just that seeing her with Angad intimidated the suitors. Now with the husband out of the picture who could resist dancing with Kripa Khanna.
Their constantly changing dance partners enjoyed themselves a lot, wanting to keep the two to themselves. But Angad and Kripa were not enjoying themselves they were simply very jealous. It was a sort of competition when Kripa found a partner more handsome then the one before, Angad also quickly switched. After they were through with that and their partners could not possibly get better looking, they took on another race.
Angad had started it first by moving his hand from the girl's waist to her back. Seeing this Kripa had moved closer to her partner so now both his hands resided just over her hips. And now it was getting to be absolutely ridiculous. They were both so impossibly close to their partners that they were having a hard time even shuffling their feet. Kripa gave up first. When she saw Angad pull the girl to his chest encasing her with his hands around her back, she angrily pushed her partner away, and stomped away from the now crowded dance floor.
She had been so stupid; she thought to herself, she had actually thought that she could make Angad Khanna jealous!! She gulped the wine on her table in one gulp, the wine burned as it traveled down her throat. She grabbed her purse, and strode out of the party when an arm snared around her waist, as someone kissed her cheek.
"Hey babe" Kripa looked up to find Sahil smiling at her.
"Err…Hey" She said, he was the last person she had wanted to meet at this moment, but then her eyes caught on Angad, he was staring right at her. Perfect timing, she said in her mind to Sahil.
"You are leaving already? But the party just started." Sahil said disappointment clear in his voice.
"Yeah well… this party is a little too dull for me, I was actually wishing for something a bit more…exciting." Angad was still looking at her. If she left the party with Sahil she knew that it would burn him to cinders, "care to join me" She said with a wink.
Sahil smiled slyly; "of course" She put her arm around his waist and walked out the door with him. Angad was on their tail even before the door swung close behind them. It was clear by the way Angad had rushed behind them that Sahil was going to get a beating today.
