She went down to the portico upon Shyam's urging to see him off. She leaned on the gleaming marble pillar arms crossed across her chest. The family said their goodbyes inside and snuck out of sight

"Chandu ka gift rakha hamari bag mein? he asked checking his wallet, and his phone

"Nahi... who hum laayenge she said glumly

He looked up

"Aapke khaana khaane taq ruk jaayen? he offered gently, smiling

"Kyon? he asked trying to not get all choked up

"So I can observe which one u like the most between sem, palak and koftas he chuckled

"Ma ko hum keh diye hain kal Chandu ka school start ho jaayega, but Harshal bhayya ne baat kar lee hai, they will let him show up on Tuesday

He nodded hands tucked in his black joggers.

"Aaj ke kapde to sookhe nahi terrace mein she mumbled

"Yeh to mushkil ho jaayega he mumbled in shock

"Umm... aapne kaha nahi u wanted to take of early tone

He grinned mischievously

He struggled to hold himself back

He smiled and got in the front

The car pulled away

She went back inside, Meeta ambled in "casually

"He is a talker isn't he?

"Unko apni kapdon ki chinta hai Teeku said blandly

Meeta laughed hysterically

"Did he kiss you? she whispered

Neither called, and so 12 hours went by from 8:15 PM Sunday night, to 9 AM Sunday morning, and then Noon happened, and then 6 PM. Vibhu was going to drive her. Himani was so overcome with guilt and compassion she told Shyam her daughter should be home until Tuesday evening. Lakshmi Vaidya had a cow in Bareilly. The new DIL was missing Monday evening, and no new news of her arrival either

She called Harit five times in two hours Monday afternoonish to ask him if there was any phone call from Guptas

He denied, declined and went back to offering his shoulder to the septuagenarian Rama Pandey over her property dispute

"Ek aur din rukne ka keh rahin hain Avantika Lakshmi waited downstairs in the official chambers to ambush her husband as soon as his white pilot Toyota pulled over

Then she repeated it again, when the JV sahib's car pulled up

"Hum utarein pehle gaadi se? Sita Ram laughed

"Vaqeel se kabhi salah nahi leni chahiye she went up dejected

JV sahib called Shyam Gupta

"Kaisin hain hamari amaanat?

"Jee udaas hain... yaad aa rahi hai shaayad unko aapke ladle ki Shyam laughed

"Hamari missus to bahutahee chintit hain Sita Ram guffawed

"Arey rey

"Unko rehne dein aap... hamey yeh batayen ki bhej kab rahe hain apni Teeku yaani hamari Avantika ko Sita Ram yawned, as Lakshmi reappeared with chai

She made a face when she saw her husband laughing

"Hamari missus ko kya kahen? Sita Ram loudly quizzed

"Hamari marzi kisi ne nahi poochhi hai, aap hamari wajah se unko tang na karen she said prissily

"Pehle DShruv chhod rahe the unko phir Vibhu, abhi lagta hai driver gaadi lekar hum aayen shaayad

"Bahut badhiya... bahut badhiya... aapko ghar ki Malaiyo khilayen

"Hum wahin ruk jaayenge aisi sambhavna hai Gupta roared

"Jee beshaq..

"kabhi aayengi? Lakshmi whispered eager and excited

"Kall Sita Ram nodded... Shyam told him he will bring her after returning from the factory on Tuesday evening... hanging up

"Chalo theek hai, budh ko shubh hai

"wahi kahe Guptajee... who log bhi pooja path waale dikhte hain Sita Ram nodded

Lakshmi sprinted upstairs delighted

She told her son when he returned late at night

"Aapko who bata deen hongi phone par Lakshmi giggled like a teen

Harit chuckled and sighed not saying anything

"To phir kal ka Cantt ka match cancel? Harshu made a face

"Kaun sa match? Lakshmi asked

"Who Lawyers vs fauji match tha 20 over ka Bareilly celebration ground mein, Harit khel rahe hain

"Nahi nahi... bahu aane waalin hain Lakshmi waved a finger

Harit: "Ma who shaam ke 7 baje to nahi aa rahin?

Lakshmi: beshaq nahi par aap naha dhoka tayyar ho

Harit: Ma aap shaayad bhool gayin, hamari shaadi ho chuki hai

The boys laughed at their Mom, Lakshmi smacked them all soundly

And so on Tuesday, Harit went off to play after work and returned at 1 AM with his brothers.

His wife's Dad's Porsche Cayenne was parked outside the gate

He went up, showered, there was no sign of his Ma either

He peeked into Avantika's room Chandu slept like a log, His arms and legs spread like a star fish

No sign of Avantika😳

"Yahan hamare kamre mein kya kaam hai aapko? she questioned coming up from behind him ...furious, trying not to cry. Dressed in orange striped salwar and a skinny pink? Tee? The room was dark with only moonlight coming through the old fashioned wood slat windows.

He walked over and bend down as he grabbed her by her waist. She flailed her arms and legs like a trapped bird.

He didn't care. He pressed his lips on hers pushing her against the wall. They both groaned releasing pent up anger and arousal

👏 Go Teeku!! She stayed angry, stayed an extra day. She's a tough cookie.
