Before, after and in between the two events there are always tell tales ...The angry kitten's clawing... the nature of relationship from zero intimacy to intimate bickering, wrangling and lip servicing is always with an element of drama...there can be no transition happening without that push and pull.

I think he's not thinking logically. That's what she meant. He has temporarily forgotten about his revenge plan.

From the time he said he doesn't expect to be sexually interested in her to telling his mother that he has no plans to consummate to today where he walks away not promising to not kiss...there's lot that has happened.
Time to pull back and take stock I guess now ???

No Ashu , that he's not thinking straight is meant in a way where his actions defies his own plot of keeping the arrangement asexual. He's going with the currents smugly satisfied that he has been able to get her to see him in a way that she's seeing him now. His problem is not that he is plotting to bed her , rather its him not having the same burn to stay true to his revenge plot. He's falling badly to maintain the hatred.
