"Suhasini..." Whisper left his trembling lips as he stared at the fuming form of his first wife.

"Yes. You certainly did not expect to get away with all your crimes, did you?" she questioned, ignoring the crowd which gathered around her. Khushi, her husband and Sumitra came forward to see for themselves that what they had seen earlier was not a hallucination and be a spectator for the confrontation which was due.

"You..you shot your husband? How could you?" asked Sudhakar, his eyes tearing as his his heart as the feeling of betrayal clenched his heart. There could be no pain which could match to that of betrayal and the fate decided to bestow the same onto the sinned one.

"How could I? When a father can decide to kill his own children for the sake of power and ego, when a husband can forget that his wife is a human being, death is the punishment. You failed in every walk of life to earn power, fame and money. And now, none of those can save you. No one would cry for your death," she said, her voice ringing with disgust for the man whom she once worshiped. The moments of solitude and helplessness made her recollect every injustice she faced, made Khushi face and saw Sumitra face.

She had the foreknowledge that Sudhakar would get away with every crime of his and had been a witness to his corrupt behavior. The moment she realized that her whole tenure of motherhood had been full of follies, she decided to commit one folly as a wife and correct at least a fraction of them.

Her family stood astounded. The fragile and docile Suhasini had taken her stand and how! The sight of Sudhakar's body, dropped to the ground, dripping of blood seemed to give a sadistic pleasure to Khushi, who seemed to unapologetic of the same. Only the god knew the count of how many lives he had ruined and it was just destiny ensuring the best payback.

"I, Suhasini Gupta, wife of this b*stard, testify in support of each and every claim against him. He has not just..violated Sumitra but even me, several times. He was going to kill our daughter and son-in-law after getting freed from the bribes which Manohar paid on his behalf to the judiciary. The clip testifying the same is circulating in the media at the moment.

Officers, if you have ever known the meaning of justice, declare the scumbag who was supposed to be my husband as a culprit and imprison me for life for staying beside him and now for killing him coldblood. Don't think that I regret killing him, because I don't. He killed many for his benefit and it is his own karma which spoke today," said Suhasini, eying her husband's writhing body. The ambulance was called but she knew that it would not be able to make it in time.

She also knew that it was mental torture in which Sudhakar was writhing more than in physical anguish. What could be a worser punishment than having the person who was blindly devoted to him murder him and declare every crime of his?

The unapologetic look on Suhasini's face, disgust in Khushi's eyes and composure of Sumitra stole the last breath of Sudhakar. Three women whom he had the responsibility to protect, and the three women whom he ruined, blinded by ego and arrogance and the three women whose vision would remain to be his last.

Seeing Sudhakar's body give up made Suhasini lose her anger. Her fury drained away like energy from a body. She had killed the man whom she had loved and had devoted the better part of her life; her husband and the father of her daughter, a daughter whom they turned a blind eye to.

The police stood stuck to their ground, unable to act on Suhasini's words. They had all earned illegal money through the bribes of Sudhakar and were loyal to his family. Arresting his wife seemed like a wrong action after abandoning the path of justice.

Suhasini moved towards Khushi and an unfazed Sumitra. The way Arnav's fingers were intertwined with her daughter's exponentially increased the guilt in her heart. That was the support, the love they wanted to snatch. Neither were they ready to love, nor were they ready to let her receive her share of love from someone else.

"I will not apologize to the two of you, because I neither have a right to seek forgiveness nor is it fair for me to gain it. I will just say that I have realized how wrong I was, how sinned I was. I just want to request the two of you that if you remember me, let those memories be free of hatred. I don't want to live on in the hearts of you with hatred. May god bless both of you with my share of happiness," said Suhasini, her eyes red with emotions which she could not express and emotions she would not want to express.

She received no reaction from the ladies to whom it was addressed. She could see Arnav squeezing his wife's hand in an ardent request to calm down and that made her heart wonder; what if her husband had loved her the same way? She would never have the misfortune to see a day where she would stand as a culprit to her own family.

"Arnav Beta, take care of my Khushi. Shower her the love which I could not. Make sure she experiences every happiness of the life, the happiness which we tried snatching from you," she requested, with a sad smile on her lips as she moved away from her family towards the police to surrender, carrying a heavy heart that her family did not want to exchange a word with her, but she knew that it was all her doing and she deserved it for following a saying blindly and being blind in an emotion.

She had turned out to be the exact opposite of her name; good smile and she hoped that her daughter lives up to her name every second of her life.

-------------------------------------
Hotel,

Sumitra had asked the hotel management to book the best honeymoon suite of the hotel they were staying during the court proceedings to compensate for the lost romance of their life. After all, the money which snatched their happiness at a point of time could be used to earn it back too.

The suite was lit up with aromatic candles and was filled with petals of the most aromatic flowers. The marital bed was decorated with the petals of red roses which were the favorite of the couple. The moonlight seared through the sheer curtains and filled up the room in the most exquisite way possible.

A smile played on Khushi's lips as she eyed the beauty of the room and relished in the romantic atmosphere it exuded while her insides churned in nervousness at the thought of the proceedings of the night. Her husband, standing right beside her just as he had vowed, found something to awe at more than his surroundings. Decked up in a modest Georgette sari and a mangal sutra he had made her wear after getting married in the registrar office, Khushi looked like the most surreal and ethereal sight for him.

The red vermilion in her partition screamed his devotion for her, her adoration for him and their love for each other and it was a sign that they had united to never separate. Five years back, he had seen the same sight and had fallen for her and five years later, he found himself falling for her all over again, waiting for the love to consume them and unite them.

Loved it

Loved to see, If Sudhakar would have been alive and serving his punishment. But was glad to see his end came from the person whom he thought will not do anything against his wish and made him see the three women he was supposed to protect and their hatred in their eyes for him.
Waiting for the epilogue
