Chapter 9

Almost three hours had passed and the party was still very vibrant. I sat by the beach and watched the couples enjoying themselves in a slow dance and then suddenly my eyes caught a glance of him, sitting at the bar. His eyes were on me too. I smiled as I tucked my hair behind my ear and he nodded his head at me.

At this point I wished that he would walk over to me and sit here right beside me. That would be the best gift he could give me at this point. But I guess it wasnt that easy. I had asked him to stay away from me but at the same time wanted him to stay closer.

When I got out of my trance, I saw a glass in front of me. I immediately looked up, thinking it was Sam. But I was surprised. "Angad?" I smiled as I looked at him. He held his hand in front of me. "Dance?" I looked at him almost not believing his words. Before I could respond, he took my hands in his and pulled me up. I couldnt take my eyes away from his.

He dragged me to the dance floor and placed his hand on my waist. He took my hands in his and smiled. I felt myself closer to him than I had ever been. and it was a good feeling. I closed my eyes and felt the music around me.

When I opened my eyes, I realized my head had been resting on his shoulders and his lips were on my neck. This was the best feeling, ever. I smiled and moved so I could see his eyes and there it was. That look in his eyes that made my heart beat like it never had. That was the night I realized that this was the closest I had reached to falling in love. Whatever I had ever felt before this, even with another man, it wasnt the same. All that was child play. This was real. Angad was real. I smiled at my revelation and moved my lips to kiss his cheek. "Thanks Angad." I whispered in his ears.

"For what?" His warm breath calmed my body and made me feel like I was on 7th Heaven. "For making me feel this way."

He suddenly turned me around and pulled me closer again so now my back was resting against his chest. "Yeah? What way?" I felt like electricity was running through my body when his arms wrapped around my waist. I took his arms into mine, turned around and kissed his lips. When I let go, I looked at him again. "This way."

I felt my heart beat faster as fingers lingered over my arm and made me feel a little colder. I took a deep breath and hugged him. I didnt want to be away from his for another moment. But suddenly I felt this guilt take over me. I was going to leave in a few days and it would be wrong for me to complicate things with him. It would just make things harder for both of us.

I let go of him and decided to walk away. He didnt stop me. I guess he was too surprised to say anything. When I got a little further, I stood there by myself and let the music behind me fade away. I felt a little bad about leaving him like this but what else could I have done? I had to leave one day and it was best for both of us to not complicate anything between us.

I sat down on the sand and stared at the full moon as it moved behind the heavy clouds. "you never had that drink I offered you." I heard his voice again and turned around. He held two glasses of champagne in his hand. One for me and one for him. I took a deep breath and stood up. "why are you doing this to me angad?"

"Doing what?" I brought my hands to my face and stood there for a second. "I dont know!! you make me...fall for you!" He smiled at my honesty. I couldnt believe I had just said that. After making him promise that he wouldnt fall in love with me. After all that, all I could say was you make me fall for me. Thats all I could say? UGH!! I felt sick.

"Are you really?" I heard his voice when I snapped back to reality. He took a step forward and looked deep into my eyes. "Angad I.."

"Shh." He placed his finger on my lips and then looked at them as he continued talking to me. "you know kripa. As much as I dont want to...you make me feel the same." That felt so good, I had to admit.

But now, it got harder. In front of me was this gorgeous hunk who admitted that he was falling for you but you know he shouldnt because you couldnt. This was confusing. But that was life. Right?

"Kripa..." I looked at him again. I smiled and then took the drink from his hand. "So...when I leave..it wouldnt be all that hard right?"

"Right. Because...I mean come on. Its not like we love each other. Its just....harmless attraction." He looked at me, hoping that I would buy it. And I did. I had no other choice. "Yes. Harmless attraction." I leaned forward to kiss him and the pulled back. "wait. you remember your promise right?"

"Yes. Kripa. I will not, under any circumstances, fall in love with you. I promise." I smiled feeling a little relieved and then finally kissed him like I had never kissed anyone. His hand reached for the back of my neck and then slid down to my lower back and then stopped. He let go of me and smiled. "Do you promise the same?"

I nodded my head, no matter how hard it was. "I promise." I smiled as I looked at his frowning eyes. That same frown lay in my heart. Yet, I didnt show it. I exhaled and then hugged him again with my arms around his neck and then when I looked behind him, I saw Sim standing there with those tears in her eyes. I didnt feel bad though. But then, why did she cry?

i dont even have a lill sympathy for sim 🤢 😆 awesum part tho! i love how kripa and angads relationship is developing 😆 😆
