Chapter 54
"Rey, Where are we going?" Taani asked him, confusingly. They were on their way to his office where her so-called relatives & his lawyer was waiting for them.
"We are going at my office, to meet some people." Rey answered her with smile.
"But who? I don't want to meet anyone." Taani replied back, making him smile.
"Taani, I want to tell you something important." Rey started off, with seriousness in his voice. Taani nodded her head and waited for him to continue.
"Day before yesterday, a couple came to me and they claimed themselves to be your uncle & aunt. And we are going to meet them-" Rey told her, looking at her from corner of his eyes.
"But what do they want now?" Taani asked him, confusingly.
"You will know, lets meet them first." Rey said to her, he knew she will panic if he told her they are here for her, and he doesn't want that. It will be tough to handle her right now. Taani nodded in understanding. After some time, they reached his office.
Rey parked his car in parking area and went inside the office. Rey took her in the conference hall where anuj along with his wife & lawyer was waiting. When taani entered there, the couple moved toward her, they tried to take her in their embrace but taani moved back and hide herself behind Rey. Rey smirked at the couple, he held taani's hand and walked toward his lawyer, who greeted them with smile.
Rey made taani sit on his chair and he took the seat on the chair beside her.
"Mr. & Mrs. Shekhawat, lets proceed. I don't have all day to waste on you people." Rey said to them in sharp crisp tone. Anuj & his wife came and sat on their respective place.
"We would like a have a talk with taani, before she decide something." Anuj said to him, Rey was thoughtful, but having full trust in his love, he agreed.
"Sure, but it will happen in my & my lawyer's presence." Rey agreed, anuj was reluctant but agreed to his condition. He look at his wife, who nodded in assurance, they both turned to taani who was watching all this with curiosity.
Taani look at the couple with her brows knitted, the man sitting infront of her, was claimed to be her father's brother, but something about him she finds it off, she wasn't able to bring herself to trust him even a bit, even after knowing this man is related to her father.
"Beta, you know after your parents death, we searched so much for you, but that sumitra devi, she snatched you away from us. She kept you with herself, she took you away from her and now, her grand-son is doing same. He didn't let us meet you, he is keeping you away from us. It was your father's last wish, he wanted you to be with us. But these singhania's spoiled everything. They just want your property, beta. He doesn't love you, he is taking advantage of your innocence. Come with us, beta, this is what your father wanted" Anuj shekhawat spoke to her, trying to convince her with his sugar coated words. He was sure, after hearing about her late father's wish, she will leave Rey and come with them. After all, her late parents means world to her.
Only Rey knew how he was controlling himself from smashing anuj, for trying to manipulate his taani and also, for speaking ill about his late grandmother.
"I appreciate you put so much efforts for me, to try fulfilling my father's wish but i was & i'm with better people. And i don't believe what you said about dadi & Rey, you don't know them so please, don't judge them." Taani snapped at them, feeling angry over them for speaking wrong about her family.
"Even my dad would be so happy to see me from there, he would always wish for my happiness and it's with Rey. And i don't even know you both, then how can i believe you over the people i have live all my life. Dadi has given me a better life, treated me like her princess. My parents were dead but she never let me feel void of not having them in my life. And i am sure, she must have a valid reason to not to let you guys meet me, she had always done things for my benefits only. And I'll not tolerate a word against her." Taani voiced out with so many emotions in her voice, it had anger and love for dadi in her voice, Shocking everyone with the maturity she had showed while talking to anuj.
Anuj was tongue tied, feeling insulted the way taani had talked to him, but he controlled his anger and look at rey, who was smirking at him, at his victory.
"What are you saying, beta? Aren't you coming with us?" Anuj asked her, in soft tone.
"No! Why should i come with you? Even if you are my father's brother, but i don't know you and moreover, now i'm married. My home is where my husband lives." She replied confidently, this time, Rey was also shocked by her answer. Her purity, her touch for him touched his heart.
"Hope you got your answer, Mr. Shekhawat. Now you guys can leave, you have no right over her, she is adult and now, my wife." Rey told him, in sharp crisp tone. Anuj & his wife, were enraged but couldn't do anything, fate wasn't in their favors today. Taani & rey's relation was much more stronger than they thought it to be.
"And yeah, Don't even think of doing something stupid, you will regret all your life." Rey whispered in dangerous low tone. Anuj understood the direct threat, he & his wife, without creating a scene, left from there along with their lawyer.
"Sir, I'll take your leave now. Have a nice day, sir-ma'am." Mr. Shrivastav, his lawyer also left leaving the couple alone. Rey got up and scooped her in his arms, in bridal style. His happiness knew no bound today, she again proved how pure her love is.
"Kitten-Kitten! You have no idea what you have given me today! I'm so proud of you-" Rey voiced out, twirling her around. Her giggles echoed in the conference room.
"But i just said truth." Taani whispered in timid tone, Rey made her stand on her feet and pulled her in his embrace.
"You are so innocent, kitten, and thats what makes you so special." Rey muttered under his breath. He dropped a kiss on her head and hugged her more tightly.
"Lets go in your cabin, and please order food for me. I'm starving-" Taani said to him, breaking the hug. Rey nodded, holding her hand, they went in his cabin, taani sat comfortably on the couch while Rey ordered lunch from them and talked to swayum, informing her about what had happened with anuj & his wife.
"Rey-" Taani called out for him, Rey walked over her and sat beside her on the couch.
"Yes, sweetheart."
"Rey, I was thinking about this from so many days and I have decided that, as you wanted, I'll join college and study like normal people." Taani told him, looking at him with small smile yet he could see hesitation in her eyes. He held her hand and intertwined his fingers with hers.
"Thats Great! And don't worry, taani, I'll be with you on every step. We will do it together-" Rey assured her, he was happy that she decided something for herself on her own.
"So, can you arrange everything? From next month, I'll join college-"
"Off-course, sweetheart. I'll manage everything." Rey answered her before he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly.
