His mother entered his room, a line of worry crossed her features when she found her son sitting on bed like a lifeless soul, lost in his own thoughts. He had been like this since the day taani had left but she couldn't even blame her, his son was getting what he deserve.
"Rey, What are you doing here alone? Come downstairs, everyone is looking for you."
His mother's voice brought him back into reality, a cruel reality. He looked up at his mother, who was sad seeing her son in this condition but she couldn't do anything. Its all her son's doing he is facing now. Its his fault that he didn't realized his wife's importance when she was here with him and now shedding tears when she had left will not do anything.
"Mom, please, leave me alone. I'm not in mood to celebrate holi" Rey grumbled, he didn't wanted to leave the room where he could feel her. Her enchanting smell was still lingered in air giving him little peace. Its been 2 months she had left but He could feel her around him in this room and that was keeping him saint. He wanted to go and search very corner of world to find her but he couldn't. How will he face her after all the pain he had given her, what will he say to her? From which right he will ask her to come back to him?
"You know, On every festival she used to wait for you. Hoping you would come and celebrate the festival with her but you never give her this happiness also. You were always busy with your work. Do you even know you haven't celebrated a single festival with her after your marriage . I hope now you realize, what it is like to be in a crowd yet so lonely."
His mother said with disappointed look. She gave him dejected look and left the room. Rey knew along with her he had hurt his family too. He couldn't moved on from his past and for that every person dear to him had suffered. And when he did moved on he couldn't voice out his emotions that pushed her far away from him where he couldn't reached for her.
Rey stood up from his place, he had already let down so many people in his life but not anymore, if not her but at least he can give little happiness to his family by celebrating this festival with them. He knew if she was here she would have wanted the same. Changing his clothes in to white kurta pajma. He went downstairs in garden where holi party was going on. Nobody wanted to keep this party as all where missing her but it was first holi of their second daughter-in-law sharon they wanted her first holi to be special so singhania's throw a small party with close friends and relatives.
"Happy holi, Rey" Swayum applied color on his face and hugged him, Rey look at the happy faces of his family seeing him joining the celebration, he felt little happy that he was able to bring smile on their faces. One by one everyone wished him and applied color on him. Rey gave them small smile but from inside he was dying, dying in remorse. How he wished he could go in past and undo his deeds but What is done is done, he cannot do anything. Now he could just wait, wait for her wounds to heal.
When she is not around, he felt like a big part of him is missing.
He is incomplete without her.
