Part 17

"Mujhe ...bo...hot ...Khussa ...aata hai...?" Arnav lifted his uncertain eyes at Kusi.

Khushi giggled.

"Stop giggling and tell me if I read it right?"

Khushi shook her head.

"No?"

"No." she giggled again. "It's gussa, not Khussa"

"Oh..." he looked down at the paper in his hand. It's been 3 weeks he is learning hindi. And now he knows all the hindi alphabets and how to use it, too. Daily he takes out 2 hours from his duties for his hindi lessons, where he and Kusi sit in the garden, and she teaches him Hindi. The lesson always starts with her teaching him Hindi, and ends with him teaching her how to perfect a kiss. He smiled. He really enjoys the 2 hours he spends with her.

"It's g, not kh ...Oh I am so sorry ..." he frowned and looked at Kusi. "But what does the sentence means?" He surely knows the hindi alphabets and few words in Hindi, but still not enough to form a sentence or understand it.

Khushi giggled again before replying. "It means, you are a very good man.." she nodded her head to confirm it.

Arnav smiled. "Really?"

Khushi nodded her head again. "Yes. A very good man"

Keeping the paper aside, he pulled her on his lap. "You think I am good man?" Arnav asked as he tucked a loose tendril behind her ear.

Khushi nodded her head. "Yes. You are a good man. You always take care of your people. You always do justice-- not too soft, not too harsh. And you love me. You have also promised to never leave me alone. You are a very good man." Lifting her face, she placed her lips against his, wanting to confirm her words by her action. She rubbed her lips lightly against his.

Arnav chuckled at her innocent attempt to kiss. But soon he felt her tongue caressing his lips, and the thoughts that clouded his mind were anything but innocent. Coiling his arms around her tiny waist, he kept his urges in check and allowed her to do whatever she wants to.

"Open your mouth.." she asked, frustrated. He always makes her open her mouth somehow, then why can't she?

Arnav chuckled. "Make me .." He sealed his lips again.

Khushi pursed her lips. "You are not a good man.." saying that , she again kept her lips on his, stroking, licking, coaxing him to open his mouth, but he didn't budge.

"I don't like you .." she glared at him, little out of breath.

Arnav laughed, throwing his head back.

"What are you both doing?"

Khushi heard the voice and lifted her head to see her Aakash Bhaiya coming towards them. She got off her husband's lap and sat beside him.

She looked up at her brother-in-law and smiled. "I am teaching hindi." She said proudly.

"Oh .." Akash sat in front of them. "What are you teaching our Duke?" Akash looked at the paper in his brother's hand. "Let me see.."

"No!" Khushi cried.

Both the man lifted their eyebrow at her sudden outburst.

"Why?" Akash asked as he held the paper out of her reach. "What's so secret you have written here? Let me see..." Akash straightened the paper and looked down to read it. And soon he burst out laughing.

"Why are you laughing?" Arnav frowned at his brother.

Khushi's cheeks colored and she buried her face in her palm.

Akash simpered and looked at his brother. "Do you know what she has written?" he asked.

"Yes" Arnav replied.

"Yes?" Akash again laughed.

"Yes..It reads I am a very good man.."

"You what?" he bit his lips to stop the laughter at seeing his brother's irritated face. "She is fooling you, bhai... Mujhe bohot gussa aata hai, means I often get angry, not- you are a very good man.." Akash chuckled.

"What?"Arnav looked at his wife , who had buried her face in her palm. "You.." he caught her arms and pulled her on his lap.

Khushi kept her eyes closed, too embarrassed at being caught.

"You were jesting , uhh?" He lifted her chin.

Khushi opened her eyes to look at her husband, trying to stretch her lips into a smile.

"I ..You are really good man...I was just ...jesting .." she confessed in a small voice. Khushi expected him to get angry, but his eyes were soft as they stared in her. And then he smiled and Khushi felt her heartbeat stop. His smile was the most beautiful smile she had ever seen.

"Bhai, soldiers are waiting for you. They wish to have a word with you" Akash said the reason why he came here looking for his brother.

Arnav nodded his head, still looking down at his wife. "I had a good time with you, Kusi. Thank you." He dipped his head and gave her a gentle kiss. "Bye.." Making her sit on the grass, he stood up and left.

Akash saw his brother walk away, a small content smile was playing on his lips. He too smiled, his brother was happy. He frowned immediately. Something was slamming against his shoulder. He looked down and chuckled. Khushi was hitting his shoulder with her tiny fist.

"Why did you tell him the meaning? Tell me! You are bad. So bad!"

Akash caught her hand and made her sit in front of him. "You brat. You were fooling my brother and then expect me to join you."

"I was not fooling ..I was just ..."

"Jesting ..I know..." he stood up, pulling Khushi along with him. "Thank you so much, Khushi.." he said, his voice full of gratitude.

Khushi looked up at him, confused. "For what?"

"For making my brother happy. For making him smile. I have never seen him this happy.."

Khushi blinked at him. "Was he smiling because of me?" She asked softly.

Akash nodded his head. "Yes. You make him happy. You make him smile. He loves you.."

Khushi smile widely. "I made him smile..." she whispered to herself, so happy to know that. "He also said he loves me."

Akash froze. He looked down at her. "What? He said that?"

Khushi nodded her head and stood in front of him. "He said, he loves me"

Akash grinned, too elated to hear that."Oh Khushi, I love you.." he cupped her face and pecked her lips. "You are our angel. Mamma has sent us an angel. I never thought he would ever love someone.. He...he is just too afraid you know. He fears losing people. But then you overshadowed all his fears. I am so so happy.."

Khushi just stared at him, her hand lifted to her lips. "You kissed me..?"

Akash chuckled at her dazed form and took her hand to place on his arm. "Yes, I did. Brothers and Sisters kiss you know. A small peck. I guess along with you teaching Bhai hindi, you should also learn things about here. You are always so confused and nave about things here."

Khushi nodded her head. "I should"

"By the way, there's good news for you." he grinned down at her. "I and Maria have decided to get married by the end of this month."

"Really?" she gave a big smile. "I am so happy! I can attend na?" she asked, too excited.

Akash laughed. "Of-course, my lady. You are my family. Without you how the wedding will take place? Besides, Maria wants you to be her matron of honor. Only if you don't mind. You are our Duchess, so we will understand if you don't want to be Matron of honor to Maria."

"What is Matron of honor, Akash Bhaiya? Will I not get to attend your wedding if I be Matron of honor?"

Akash smiled and shook his head. "Matron of honor is the one who helps the bride in wedding preparation and also assists her to the church, where the marriage takes place."

"Really?" she tightened her hold on his arm. "I want to be Matrin of Honor then! Please Bhaiya" she clung to his arms like a child.

Akash laughed. And here he thought , she being the Duchess would not appreciate being Matron of honor to Maria. "Its Matron of honor, darling, not matrin.." he corrected her. "And yes, only you will be Maria's Matron of honor, happy?"

"Very happy!"
