Part: 13

Recap:

Misthy came to Angad's house to visit him and understood that he missed Kripa a lot and worried if she returned from Kanpur. Misthy consoled him.
Angad and Misthy went back to those days when they tried hard to get back to Kripa


Flashback:

As soon as Angad dropped Kripa at home he went to Misthy's house. Misthy went to meet Prithvi and Harshini. Misthy's mom Damini received him, gave coffee and refreshments and enquired about his dadi. He talked with her for an hour while waited for Misthy. Misthy came with Anita.

"Hi Angad! How r u? When did you come?" enquired Misthy. Anita greeted him too.

"Kuch nahin bus aise hi aya hoon tumse milne", answered Angad.

Misthy knew Angad never come so suddenly and understood he was feeling little discomfort with Anita's presence. She talked with Anita for a few minutes and sent her home with some excuse. Angad thanked Misthy.

"Abb bolo kya baath hai? All of sudden u flew here?" Misthy asked him.

"Misthy! Kripa yahan se Kanpur move ho rahi hai", sadly informed Angad.

"Kya?" surprised Misthy and added "kabb hua yeh? kaise? How do you know?"

Angad told about their date the day before and came to know through Kripa.

Misthy was disappointed. "She is such a nice girl. Never bothers anyone and more over entertains all of us. Very innocent and pretty girl. We will miss her a lot" Misthy praised Kripa's qualities.

Angad expressed that he also would miss Kripa a lot. Misthy looked into his eyes suspiciously. Angad tried to escape her looks but confessed lately that he loved her and wanted her in his life forever. He confessed their relationship too.

Misthy was shocked and dumb found. After few seconds she recovered herself and asked how it had happened.. Angad explained how they both dated each other and their feelings about each other.

Misthy started scolding him,"Dimaak karab hogay kya? Do u know her age? She's minor and u did this? If her parents came to know they kill both of you. Did Kripa confessed her love anytime? Even though she does you cannot marry her before 18. I hope you know that very well".

Angad was silent and could not reply to her since he respected her as his well wisher.

Misthy felt sympathetic to him and held his hands. "Angad! I thought you were just passing your time with her and I dint expect this closeness between you both. Now what if anything happens to her? Did you ever think about it?"
Angad nodded his head and got tears. "Sorry Misthy! I couldn't control myself" he repented himself.

Misthy was more concerned about them now. "Angad! Abb hum kuch kar nahin sakthe. She has to speak up. And be sure if you want to go for marriage with her. And this might be possible only when she becomes major." She thought about her next action.

Angad requested her help to find out Kripa's feelings and contact details at Kanpur. Misthy promised him to help him.

Angad went home hoping everything gets clear soon. Misthy called all her friends and told about Kripa's relocation. All of them decided to visit her next day.

Misthy, Prithvi, Harshini, Anita, Siddarth, Karan went to meet Kripa around 8 in the morning. They found Kripa's house was locked and they went to Nishant's house as he's her neighbor to enquire about her. Nishant's dad and bua told that they knew only about their relocation but not many details as Naina never opened up with them. They all disappointed and informed Angad. Angad rushed to Misthy's house and felt sad for kripa's sudden disappearance.

He left Misthy's house and went to Kripa's house with some hope. For his luck he met the watchman and got the contact details. He felt happy and went home deciding to call Kripa next day as soon as she reached home.

The night Angad had disturbed sleep getting up frequently to check if it was morning. He started calling Kripa at 6 but had no response. He tried the whole day but no response. He informed Misthy about the details and his trials. Misthy also took the number and started calling every other minute. They both tried for two days but got no response. Third day they got connection but that number was changed. Angad was distressed and started missing Kripa.

Misthy gone on vacation for 15days with her parents and Angad became alone. He didn't know what to do. Once he decided to go to Kanpur alone and contact her in person. But again he hesitated thinking if Kripa has no feelings for him. He wondered why Kripa dint contact him so far. Days were passing heavily.

It's a month for Kripa moved to Kanpur. Angad decided to go to Kanpur. Misthy agreed to accompany him. They both told their family that they were going to a concert. They told their friends they were going to Delhi for a friend's wedding. They don't want to reveal anything until they get Kripa.

Angad and Misthy came into presence with Diya's call. She stood outside the room and asked permission if she could join them. Misthy smiled and took her down asking Angad to follow them. Angad locked his room and joined them. They spent time with dadi and Misthy took leave after dinner assuring Angad that Kripa would come back soon.

Kripa woke up in the morning and called Angad immediately. She couldn't get him on line but left a message that she was fine and missing him very much.

Everyone was busy in Saxena house with Reena's 'vidai' to in-laws house. Gouri and Nishant were busy in arranging things for the ritual. Kripa had coffee and went back into the room to call Angad again. Angad became so emotional and scolded Kripa for not calling him as soon as she reached Kanpur. He scolded her for not giving the contact details to him.

Kripa liked his affectionate scolds and got tears. Angad expressed his fears about Kripa and requested to come back soon. After the call Kripa decided to go back the same day to him. She told herself that she loved Angad and would not be able to stay away from him. She decided firmly that she would accept Diya as her daughter for Angad's love and Angad as he was even though he was married before.. The only fear she should make sure that Angad's wife won't come back to him. She should never become 'second woman' in his life. She remembered Angad's fears about her return to him and got tears. "Angad! Tum nahin jaanthi ho main kitna koshish kiya tumhe contact karne ki" I dint have any proper postal addresses of any of you. I lost all numbers in relocation. Mom misplaced all of them." Kripa cried for a while.

Kripa finished her lunch and took leave from all and thanked for their hospitality and went back to hotel. She informed Nishant that she wanted to go back to Mumbai the same day. Gouri informed that she would drop her the next day early morning to Lucknow so that she can catch the 10 O'clock flight to Mumbai. It takes 3hrs to reach lucknow. Kripa agreed to be ready by 6 in the morning and Gouri promised to pick her in time.

As soon as Kripa reached the hotel she informed Angad about her return on next day. Kripa packed everything and gone to bed early so she could get up early. Kripa was very excited to go back to Angad. She missed him a lot in these 4 days separation.

Angad was also equally excited and informed dadi and Misthy. Misthy teased him for his excitement as if he was receiving a Prime Minister. Angad told Kripa was more important than that. Misthy admired his love on Kripa.

At 5 Kripa woke up to get ready fast. She called Angad again informing she was ready to leave. Angad was also in the same enthusiasm to receive her calls. Gouri came at 6 to pick Kripa. They had breakfast and coffee at hotel and left for Lucknow.

On the way they stopped at Saxena House and Kripa bid goodbye to everyone. They told they would miss her. Nishant joined them. When they were half the way to reach Airport Kripa felt uneasiness with her stomach pain as it grew intolerable. Kripa took her usual pain- killer and Gouri asked how long she had the pain. Kripa told that it was bothering her for almost 10 years. Gouri checked Kripa's medicines and asked why was she using those medicines. Kripa told her doctor prescribed them.Gouri suspected something and couldn't force much because she was Nishant's friend. Nishant looked into Gouri's eyes and warned not to force her. Kripa closed her eyes bearing the pain since it took time for pain-killer to work on suppressing the pain.

They reached the airport. Kripa went to get tickets and collapsed at counter. Gouri checked her pulse and hurried her to nearby hospital.

Gouri went into the room along with Kripa and the other lady doctor in the hospital. Gouri explained the Lady Doctor about Kripa's pain and her medicines. She checked Kripa and realized she collapsed coz of the pain-killer. It's a sleep and nothing serious. Gouri relaxed. The Lady Doctor asked Gouri if Kripa had babies. Gouri said she didn't know about her much but she's unmarried. The Lady Doctor laughed and commented "Aaj kal bachon pe kya bharosa". Gouri offended. The Lady Doctor wondered to notice a scar on Kripa's abdomen. The Lady Doctor suspected the scar was alarming something since Kripa lived in US and might be having some boyfriends. They discussed for few minutes and decided to stop Kripa to use such drugs. Gouri decided unless she got reliable information from Kripa she should not jump into any conclusions.

They kept Kripa in the hospital till she woke up and Nishant informed Angad and his in-laws about her. Nishant told Angad that Kripa would stay one more day since he's there. Angad was happy to know that Kripa went to Nishant's sister-in-laws wedding only.

Kripa woke up in the evening. Nishant told her how they worried about her and Kripa apologised for the inconvinience caused to them. They took Kripa home.

Everyone in Saxena house asked why she got so frequent pain and advised to go for proper check-up. Kripa apologized once again for the inconvenience and took rest in the night. Gouri and Nishant didn't force her much and left her alone.

The next morning at breakfast everyone gathered.

"Bhaiyya! Main chali jaoongi. I'm alright now. It has became a part in my life, nothing to worry much about it", requested Kripa.

" No! Kripa! I don't allow you to go alone. We'll take you tomorrow with us. Till then you are staying with us. This is my order" gave his authoritative decision. "And one more thing you are not going back to US also unless you go for full check-up" Ordered Nishant.

Kripa smiled and agreed with no alternative. Gouri just watched them silently and thought how to get an opportunity to ask Kripa about her condition. She didn't mention to Nishant whatever happened in the hospital between her and the Lady Doctor.

Nishant told that he informed Angad but not about her health. Kripa thanked him and went inside to call Angad. Gouri didn't get any chance to ask Kripa for more details.

The next day all of the three headed to Mumbai and reached around noon. Kripa excited to see Angad after 5 days gap. Nishant told Angad that he would drop Kripa home so he need not come to the airport. Flight reached Mumbai around noon.

Gouri and Nishant surprised when they saw Angad at airport. Nishant teased Kripa for Angad's impatience. Gouri silently watched the couple. Kripa blushed and headed home in Angad's car.

Nishant was silently driving and Gouri was in passenger seat seriously in deep thoughts. Nishant checked her in between his drive but didn't disturb her. She became very moody especially when she came out from her mom's house. They reached home. After dinner Nishant checked some emergency files and Gouri relaxed on bed. Nishant came to her and asked what was bothering her.

"Nishant! How long you know Angad?", Gouri asked to get some shape to her thoughts.

Nishant surprised and told that he knew him since childhood.

"How was the relationship between Angad and Kripa?" Gouri questioned again.

"They used to go out together. They became close because of rehearsals and year ending celebrations", casually told Nishant. "Yeh sab kyon poonch rahi ho"

"Kuch nahin. Itni saalon ke baad wo dono phir se ek ho gaye badi kushi ki baath hai"

"Ha Gouri! Kripa is very lucky. Angad loved her to his heart." Nishant showed his gladness.

Gouri was still thinking and didn't seem to be impressed with the information she got from Nishant.

She thought to gather some more information about Kripa's past 10years life or at least about her scar. She decided to talk to Kripa once and take help from the hospital where Kripa undergone the surgery.

Through out the drive Kripa explained about her stay at Kanpur. Angad silently listened to her since he longed to see her and hear her voice. He directly took her to his farmhouse. Kripa was surprised and excited to go there and blushed with past memories.

Angad parked the car and lifted her into the house. Kripa got down and ran to the lounge and checked all the surroundings if anything changed. All the plants and bushes changed their places and grown big. Some new pots replaced there. The furniture changed but swing was still there. She went to the edge of parapet wall and looked around the yard and took deep breathe to sense the old fragrance in the air. The whole yard changed and looked more organized.

Angad came upstairs with wine and meals for both while Kripa enjoyed the place. Kripa turned back and ran to him and hugged him tightly. Angad kissed her cheek warmly and both silently relaxed in each others hands "kuch yaadein hai uss raat ki?" she nodded without opening her eyes and hugged his neck.

"Angad! I missed you a lot. I love you!" Kripa continuously chanted and kissed Angad emotionally.

"I love you too, Kripa! I missed you too a lot. Never go away without informing me. I spent 10years in waiting for you. I don't want to loose you any more at any cost", Angad also poured his heart.

They experienced how much they had missed each other. Kripa looked into his eyes without moving from him and said with tears in her eyes "kabhi nahin door jaaongi. Promise"

Angad kissed her nose, lifted her and swirled around.

Angad slowly released her and took to the swing.

"Yeh pyar kahan chupayi thi in saalon mein", caressed her head.

Kripa nodded her head 'patha nahin' and again cuddled him. She cried out of tension release. He patted her back for few seconds till she came to normal.
They talked about their childhood memories for a long time. They both decided in their minds that they should tell their truth to each other as soon as possible.

Angad and Kripa finished their moonlight dinner and had nice intimate time.

Angad and Kripa got ready by 9 in the morning and went home to meet dadi. Diya already left for school and dadi was about to leave for office. She warmly received Kripa and enquired about her trip. Dadi asked Kripa to inform Kripa's parents about the marriage and requested them to come as soon as possible. Kripa agreed and promised she will inform the same day.
Dadi left after lunch.

Angad took Kripa to his room. Kripa saw all her pictures hung in the room and felt happy in finding out Angad's love on her. Angad showed all his gifts gathered over past 10years for Kripa thinking she might come back one day. Kripa emotionally moved and promised once again she would be with him for life. Kripa asked for Diya's pictures at the time of birth since she couldn't able to see them last time in her visit to his house. Angad showed 2days old and onwards pictures of Diya but without her mother. She noticed another family with them in those pictures. Angad explained as his family friends but Kripa hesitated to ask about Diya's mother.

Angad told many things about what he did past 10years. Kripa finally asked about Diya's mother. Angad smiled and told she's in the same city only and he would show her one day. Kripa disappointed to hear that and couldn't ask if they were divorced or just living separately.

Diya came from school around 4 and felt happy to see Kripa. They both spent a nice time till dinner. Kripa helped Diya in her homework and enquired about her studies. Angad was impressed for Kripa's interest in Diya. Kripa gave the gifts she bought for Diya from Kanpur.

Angad drove her home after dinner. Kripa silently watched outside the window throughout the drive.
"Kripa! Since you are insisting I'm dropping you home. Otherwise I want you to stay with me only" Angad expressed his unwillingness in staying away from her.

Kripa smiled and continued watching outside.
"kya soch rahi hai? Tum kush ho na iss shadi se?" Angad asked curiously.

Kripa smiled and nodded her head and said she was also not happy in staying away but wanted to be alone till her parents come. Angad and Kripa spent some time together and Angad went away taking promise from her for meeting everyday.

Kripa is about to sleep and she got call from Gouri requesting her if she could meet her the next day anytime. Kripa took an appointment and gone to bed.

Gouri called Kripa thinking to talk about her health. Kripa took an appointment around noon and went to meet Gouri at her hospital though she wondered for Gouri's call.

Gouri was busy with some lady in her room so Kripa was asked to wait outside for few minutes.

Gouri was busy with Sheetal Kapoor, the well-doing gynecologist and her batch mate..

"Sheetal! I have a 25 year old patient. She is unmarried and is suffering from abdominal pain for 10years. She's using some pain-killers." Gouri explained about Kripa without mentioning her name and what she saw at hospital in Lucknow. Gouri was an internal medicine practitioner and she took Sheetal's help for Kripa.

"I'm worried coz she's Nishu's friend and. Nishu usko behen maantha hai. I wanna help her" continued Gouri.

Sheetal wanted to check her before came to any conclusions. Gouri took Kripa inside. Gouri introduced Sheetal to her.

"Kripa! I talked to sheetal regarding your pain" explained Gouri the reason behind her call.

Sheetal took her inside and checked her completely. Kripa was asked to wait outside for a moment.

"Gouri! I don't see an abnormality in Kripa but better find out if she had undergone any surgery and bring her to me when she was in pain next time. I didn't ask any details of her personal life as you requested".

"Confronting a female patient with abdominal pain, as a board-certified OB-GYN, I sometimes don't have a clue as to what the problem is. All I can say is "this patient is sick with something." Laughed Sheetal with easy go.

Gouri didn't reciprocate as was seriously thinking.

"Sometimes these patients get well before I can figure out the diagnosis. Sometimes these patients get worse and I end up performing surgery and find PID, or endometriosis, or an ovarian cyst or almost any other gynecologic problem. Sometimes I do laparoscopy and find nothing abnormal, but the pain goes away."
"If the patient has pelvic/abdominal pain or tenderness, placing her on bed rest for a few days will usually help and is never the wrong thing to do" Sheetal gave general opinion about such patients.

"For many of my patients, the pain will simply resolve although I don't know why. If there is no fever, but she complains of chronic pelvic pain, a course of oral doxycycline is wise" Sheetal advised Gouri.

"Most patients complaining of intermittent, chronic pelvic pain will benefit from oral contraceptive pills. OCPs reduce or eliminate most dysmenorrhea and have a favorable influence on other gynecologic problems such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, and adenomyosis. I can diagnose and give treatment next time when she is suffering from pain" Sheetal told her opinion and took leave from Gouri.

As soon as Sheetal left, Gouri brought Kripa inside and started explaining the situation. Nishant's call had interrupted the conversation. Gouri told Nishant that Kripa was with her and Nishant asked Kripa to join them for lunch.

Kripa, Gouri and Nishant relaxed at beech side restaurant and watched the waves from the window silently. Gouri went to the restroom to fresh up and asked Nishant to order the food.

Nishant asked, "Kripa! Tum India Angad se milne aayi thi?'

Kripa looked into Nishant's eyes for a moment and replied, "Haan bhaiyya! We decided to get married". She explained how she remembered Angad as "Prince" and couldn't recognize till few days ago. She explained her love on Prince and the way how she found out Angad as her Prince.

"Do you know about Diya?" Nishant asked curiously.

Kripa nodded her head 'yes'. "Magar Bhaiyya patha nahin kyon darr lagraha hai ki uske pehle biwi wapas aagayi tho".

Nishant nodded as if he understood her fears. "Main bhi itna nahin jaantha hoon uski barren mein. Kabhi kabhi parties mein milthe they magar kabhi personal life mein jaag kar nahin dekha. But I never saw his wife. Kabhi mili nahin. Misthy se touch mein hoon magar tumko maloom haina main aisi baathon pe nazar kum rakhtha hoon", smiled Nihant.

Kripa smiled too.
Gouri came and the three enjoyed food as watched silent waves. After lunch Nishant left for his work after dropping Gouri and Kripa at Gouri's hospital. Kripa took leave from Gouri and went to pick her car. Gouri asked Kripa to drop her home on the way.

Gouri started conversation while Kripa was driving, "Kripa! Theek se bathao yeh pain kab se aarahi hai?"

Kripa surprised for her sudden question and hesitated to reply.
"Kripa! Main yek doctor hoon. Don't hide anything from me. I want to help you. How it happened?" Gouri convinced her.

"Main Kanpur mein thi tub se I'm getting this pain" Kripa gave a pale answer.
"Then what's that scar?" asked Gouri thinking her suspicion might be correct.
Kripa still hesitated and pretended concentrating on driving..

"Sheetal said your pain is related to that", Gouri wanted her to open up.
Kripa gathered her guts and told "I've undergone an abortion".

Gouri was happy for Kripa opening her heart,"when?"

"When we moved to Kanpur….after a month….. I found it and …"Kripa paused when her voice became heavy.

Gouri pressed her palms friendly. Gouri nodded her head as if she understood everything and said in her mind "this is new to me…Abortion only?"… "And the scar?""

Gouri asked, "Kripa! tum…. Kabhi…. kissi …koyi…. boy friends…. or .any more pregnancies." hesitantly paused.

Gouri wanted to know if Kripa had any more pregnancies to find out more information about the scar as abortion won't leave any scars on abdomen.

Kripa nodded her head "no". "Nahin Gouri! Us abortion ke baad kabhi kissi boys ko kareeb nahin aane diya" said Kripa with shy voice.

Gouri surprised for kripa's reply and asked,"why? darr gayi?"

Kripa again nodded her head,"Shayad main Angad ki jagah kissi ko nahin dena chahti thi".

Gouri surprised more "Woh Angad ka bacha tha"?

Kripa said "haan".

Kripa further confirmed that she never told her mom or Angad about the pregnancy, abortion and pain. "Jabb pehle baar pain aya tha main ussi doctor ke paas gayi thi jisne meri abortion karvayi thi. She gave me some medicines. I continued those whenever I got pain till I left for US. And in US one of my friends helped me. I even now go to her aunt only."

"Haven't your doctor told about this to your parents?" showed her curiosity.

"I was 19 when I went to US. And I managed." Kripa laughed.

Gouri was surprised for her braveness.

Gouri got some clue and thought to connect all the information with presence."Tho Kripa ki abortion nahin hua?" "how come she didn't know about this?" Gouri was confused about 'only abortion' and the scar which indicated she had undergone a caesarian.

She couldn't ask many questions as they reached Gouri's apartments. Kripa bade goodbye and left for home.

Kripa took shower to get ready for date with Angad. She thought about Gouri's words and lightly touched her scar on abdomen and remembered past.

"Kripa!" Naina's scream disturbed Kripa's sleep. She checked the time and it was 6AM. She was annoyed at her mom's shouting her name early morning and came down. She saw the whole house decorated with balloons and banners saying "Happy Sweet 16".

Kripa realized today was her birthday and ran into the bathroom to get ready. Naina gave a big party on Kripa's 16th birthday. Kripa told her mom last night to wake her up early so she could go to the temple. Actually Kripa lied to her mom about temple but she made a plan with her so called best friend Tanya at 8AM.

Kripa wore a light yellow frock with frills and laces and small mirror work. It had big puffs on sleeves, broad boat neck with white frilled lace. She wore gold ear rings and left hair loose. She came to her mom and gave a hug. Naina was happy for Kripa getting up early and was planning to go to temple. Though Naina had no time to follow customs she respected her culture. She blessed Kripa and put her necklace around her neck promising she would get her real gift in the evening. Kripa gave hug to Dilip also and he blessed her as gave a gold bracelet with her name engraved on it. Kripa loved the gifts and ran out saying time to go to temple. Naina and Dilip proudly stared at the way she went and involved later in their preparations for evening party.

"Tanya! Jaldi chalo we are late already" Kripa hurried Tanya, her class mate, best friend so far in 11th grade.

Kripa and Tanya came to a place on Tanya's bicycle and went inside. It's a general hospital where Tanya's older cousin works. She was 13years older than Tanya and worked as a gynecologist. She examined Kripa and confirmed that she was pregnant. Kripa was shocked. "Congratulations! Happy 16th birthday gift"Tanya teased her.

Kripa was angry on her "shut up Tanya. I'm worrying how to handle it and you are teasing me?"

"Hmm, kyon pehle akal kahan gaya tha" Tanya grinned. Kripa put sad face and said that she never thought about it. She was seriously and silently thought the ways to get rid of the problem now.

"Abb kya karey" Tanya thought loudly .

Tanya's cousin came to them and asked how could they handle the situation. Tanya already told her how strict Naina was.

"woh tho hongi. Koyi maa apni bachi ko bina byah mom banne ki permission nahin deti" cousin gave her opinion. Kripa asked her help to get rid of it.

Cousin stunned and understood her situation and told abortion was the best idea if she didn't want to give birth to child.

"Birth"? stunned Kripa "NO Never" she told her decision. Cousin thought for a moment and asked her to come back after four days. "four days!!!" Kripa screamed and asked if she could remove it immediately.

Cousin laughed at her and told it was not that easy and she has to be in the hospital for few hours and since she had a birthday party today its better do later. Kripa agreed with no alter and went back home with Tanya. She went to temple on the way to get proof for Naina and came home. The whole time she was busy in thinking how to get rid of the problem secretly.
