Part 11

Lavanya pulled Khushi to her side with an angry look on her face.

" I thought you completed your revenge by playing with my feelings, Mr.Raizada. But maybe I was under a dangerously wrong misconception. YOUR PROBLEM WAS WITH ME! NOT MY SISTER! SO STOP GETTING HER INTO THIS BUSINESS OR ELSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I CAN DO!" Lavanya, being an overprotective sister couldn't even bear the thought of Arnav using her dear sister for taking revenge from her.

" Lavanya, it is not what you are thinking. I am not using her for any revenge." Arnav tried to explain in calm and composed manner but it didn't match the heat of the arguments which would be placed in front of him.

" And you think I am foolish enough to believe you, Mr.Raizada. I have taken betrayal from you once and this time I will not even trust you with even a minor thing. Because YOU just don't deserve the trust of ANY DAMN PERSON." An already hurt Lavanya knew her sister. She knew that Khushi loathed Arnav for what he did with her dear sister and hated him for using a girl's feelings for his revenge, when there was absolutely no fault of hers.

Khushi was still numb in shock. She didn't know what to say or how to react. Fury for losing her control in front of him descended down the heavens to her mind, which clouded it and made it even more difficult. Empathy for her sister and Pain of realization that Arnav Singh Raizada was nothing but a player made her go weak in her knees as she felt the earth snatching every power from her.

Arnav knew what he had to do, and he always listened to his mind rather his heart which continuously warned him of him committing a mistake by doing what he intended to.

" So you know what I am. Great then, Lavanya. It makes it easier for me. Well I have a proposition for you both, in fact for Guptas as a whole." Arnav controlled his instincts which were demanding him to stop and pamper his Khushi, whose eyes were clouded with pain and her body had gone numb. But he had to do this, didn't he? He wanted to have her beside him forever and he couldn't afford to have losses for his company, which he built from a scratch.

" We are not interested in it." Lavanya remarked even before listening to his proposition because according to her, whatever Arnav Singh Raizada did just caused pain to her and her family, and her instincts warned her that this time it would be no different.

" Khushi will have to marry me or else the news of NK and Lavanya being in a relationship will be all over the national news and newspapers by tomorrow. And your father, Mr.Gupta, who assumes that his daughters are saints will see your real face of being nothing but people who don't realize love. Once this news is spread, slowly your business will start deteriorating due to lack of investors. Loss of your father's trust on you and your capabilities will further deteriorate. Will you want this?" Arnav, who was a shrewd business man didn't find it very hard to come up with consequences as scary as them but somewhere it pulled the strings of his heart for hurting Khushi and her sister.

" Khushi, don't say yes to him. I am sure Papa will understand us and your happiness matters to us more than anything else, baby." Lavanya was trying hard to persuade Khushi to not accept Arnav's threats but Khushi who had stumbled back listening to Arnav's words had gone even more numb to her surroundings. It was just her mind working and not her heart which was warning her against the possible consequences.

" I will marry you, Mr.Raizada. Not because I am scared of you but because I love my sister and father too much to risk their happiness for myself. And I am not selfish like you are neither am I a person who thinks love is a game like you." Khushi was back with a bang. She wanted Arnav himself to stop this wedding and Khushi Gupta being the top businesswoman, had found her way.

Didn't something just break? Maybe it was his heart, which broke by hearing hatred-filled words from the words he was genuinely in love with, but the destiny chose a hard path for them and their love.

Or maybe it was his soul which broke to see its soulmate going so far away from itself that the distance seems to be tenfold more than the proximity. Will it ever change or will it only increase?

" Are you sure, Khushi?" Arnav questioned to confirm that he was not hallucinating. Maybe he was just dreaming of her hating him so much and soon the dream will break with Khushi running into his arms.

" Khushi, No..." Lavanya pleaded but it was of no avail.

" We, Guptas are genuine, Mr.Raizada. Unlike some people who don't even know the word called 'genuine'. I wonder if your dear brother ever realized the difference in between love and friendship or even understood the meaning of love. Because if he had, you wouldn't be here standing in my office, making a proposition as painful and as cruel as this." Khushi's hatred and anger reached all new heights when Arnav had blackmailed her and her sister on revealing the news of NK and Lavanya to the entire world, that world which thought that Lavanya was Arnav's beau.

Arnav was ready to take every insult hurled at him, every pain given by her if it gives her happiness, because that meant to him more than anything. But one decision of his had changed three lives forever beyond a repair or a correction

" LEAVE, Mr.Raizada. Before I call my security to throw you out of my office because even your mere sight disgusts me and the feeling that I am standing on the same ground as you are kills me from inside." Khushi looked away from him, while her eyes were full of tears flooding in them and a very little strength was remaining in her which was the reason she wanted him to leave right then. Because she couldn't show her weakness to him.

Arnav stood there rooted to the spot without paying a heed to her warning as he eyed at her weak, petite form which was trembling in pain, anger and disgust. Every cell of his was shouting with redemption and every part of his soul suddenly felt tainted. Why?

Because seeing your love in pain is much more difficult than to bear the pain yourself.

" Didn't you hear what my sister said Raizada? LEAVE!" Lavanya shouted as tears flowed down her cheeks and her face turned red in raw fury.

Khushi picked up the intercom there to call the security to show that she was serious to call the security. Arnav jerked to the present and blinked back the tears which were accompanied by a burning sensation in his eyes. It didn't burn as much as his heart did, did it?

Arnav started moving towards the door, when suddenly everything started blurring out to Khushi whose strength was almost completely exhausted in acting strong when she was completely destroyed from inside.

" It was just an act for him." Every cell of hers shouted that to her and soon her vision had faded to an extent where she couldn't distinguish anything and her knees gave away. She collapsed on the floor, making Lavanya and Arnav rush to her with concern written all over their faces and shouting her name.

" L..e..ave, Mr.Raizada. Please." Khushi begged even in an almost unconscious state, making Arnav's heart wrench and bleed in pain.

Will these distances and pain reduce? Or will they increase to an extent where love would fade out?
