Biking & Life Paths

He dropped his things off, and showered and headed out... as he dressed himself he turned to look at her side of the closet, two? three outfits hung there
he wandered to the kitchen, took a picture of the birds and texted her...
He scrolled his appointments for today there were meetings from 7 AM until 8 PM
Hit a bar afterwards and head home...

It felt strange not to have her around... he could hear Tamil tunes faintly in his head

The ipad lay where he had put it last time... he went to YT and to her most recently played files... hit one with half a smile
Let it play in the kitchen as he worked on readying himself for the office

Looked up train times again on the transit system
It was a comforting feeling
Let himself out... walked over to the station and headed to work, as the Tamil playlist went on an infinte loop through the day

Noonish? 10 ish... she called about the financial health appointment.. sparring with her energized him,
he went to look at the file the Relationship Mgr shared last time

he wondered if she was doing more to bring heserlf on track. she couldnt go on like this indefinitely

He walked in and out of meetings drank a lot of bad coffee... listened to the same play list for two hours as he ran numbers
Looked at the end of the 1st month of Q4 numbers... didnt look too bad
Looked at a couple pending proposals, collated the print job that didnt get done...
Had a late lunch meeting with Sukrit

Logged on to his hiking/trekking/mountain biking group and smiled
A mountain bike trip for Chamonix-Mont Blanc was being planned for the weekend, leave Thursday night return to Paris Monday.

He signed up with an affirmative.. looked at SNCF lines and times (the train system)... and leaned back... walked over to the window
He could already smell the Mon Blanc mountain air... he had lost count of the number of times he had biked the slopes
Take the Balcon Sud in the direction of Les Houches then cross town to the Bellevue lift station.
Take the lift to the top and then wind down to the Col de Voza; from there
descend into the Bionnassay valley and zig-zag the hairpins down into the Contamines valley.
Once u arrive, continue southwards to the Col du Bonhomme.

Alex knocked... "Sont u manque Inde?" (are u missing India?) he chuckled

R&B half smiled turning from the window

"ou devrais-je dire sont u manque une beaut indienne ?"
(Or should I say are u missing an Indian beauty?)

"Avez-u dire ma femme ?" (Did u mean my wife?) R&B chuckled

"Avez- u vit avec plus d'une beaut?"
(Have u been living with more than one Indian beauty?)


"Non, elle wont lui permettre" (Nope, she wont allow it for some reason") R&B winked

He picked his laptop up and walked out

"U semble jamais quitt" (Seems like u never left) Alex said warmly... glad to have his partner back

R&B nodded...

She took her coffee up Ritu bought her brownie. No more curious questions, II scrolled her texts hoping to hear from Ranjan

"Have u lived in Delhi long?" Ii asked

"No I sat on a plane at Boston and got here three weeks ago" Ritu said

"Reverse migration?" Ii asked

"somewhat like that"

"U have family here?" Ii asked

"Oh ya... Madaan? (chuckling) all over Delhi.. and North" Ritu said

II was nosy she wanted to know if there was a lover boy she trailed to Delhi

But did not open her motor mouth to ask

"U have family here?" Ritu asked

"Ya Dad works for Ministry of Finance South Block... Mom's a Eco
teacher at KV sister lives in Munirka" Ii said "She teaches Eco at Delhi College of Comm & Eco"

Ritu smiled nodding

"U didnt want to teach Eco?" Ritu asked amused

"Umm... IKR... no... I loved Accounting too much thats why I turned into a SW deployment Mgr" II laughed self deprecatingly

"Did u like Amherst?" Ii asked softly

"Its great... US is fabulous" Ritu said cheerily

"U didnt want to live there?" Ii asked

"Umm.. no... not at this time" Ritu said


"Lets meet for the 3 PM?" Ritu signed off politely

"Ya and u have the daily reports at ur desk" Ii said

"Its the 3rd time uve talked abt it" Ritu smiled

"I dont know... I think I messed up" Ii said candidly

Ritu smiled and walked away


Her phone beeped after her 3 PM with her boss ended at 6 ish

A Mont Blanc picture.. "leave Thursday return early Monday"

He was back where he loved being, doing what he loved doing... at work and outside of it

She was angry and jealous for some reason... though she was where she loved to be... and was doing what she loved doing

"Have a fabuluous trip" she said unemotionally

"thanks" he said not reading between the lines... texts can be unemotional that way... and he was by nature that way
