first episode is not the first watched episode for me.
first let me tell my journey in to IPK world. I am from Andhra. I have a biggg problem with hindi since my childhood. I have to spend extra time with my third language to get decent marks. I am a dentist (I am currently doing final year of masters in dentistry). back then in 2011, I have completed my final year BDS, and started my internship. and all of a sudden we got good leisure time and we used to stay in hostel. so my friends suggested that we should start watching hindi serials to improve our hindi. so we started watching balika vadhu. there are many reasons for us to select that one. it airs in good time, its dubbed version is being aired in telugu, so easy to catch up. some said that it is super hit with good trp. 😆
but after watching 2 months or so, one of our friends suggested that we should start watching IPK (one of her cousins advised her). and trust me, some of us protested that, and I am one of those (now I feel like banging my head to a wall🤢) actually my point was that, bv is being dubbed into telugu, yet it is difficult to understand hindi (how can I understand, interest is basic thing for learning, which I lagged totally) so how can I understand an all new show? but IPK won the war, because all are young girls and obviously people will vote for IPK. so officially I left the 'learn hindi' mission, and thought that my friends have commitment issues.
after that, till the end of IPK my friends, cousins suggested me to watch it. I was like what the hell, people are going gaga over an indian soap. but during last weeks of November 2012, (by this time I went home completing my BDS, and started preparing for MDS entrance exam 2013) one of my friend asked me to come to dinner (she is a good friend, and she was worried seeing my tension for the entrance) and then I watched my first episode of IPK, that is during mrs. india track, where khushi falls on the ramp in front of arnav. barun's voice and his looks killed me.
and with in one week, I heard about its closure. all my friends literally started crying. I thought stupid phangirls.😆 but I saw many posts in face book, youtube, and one of my cousin stopped having food for 2 days. that's when I thought I was actually missing some thing. so I gave it a try in telugu since December 2012, and story is at the point of arnav and lavanya's break up. I was so much touched with that scene. I asked my friend the whole story and continued watching in telugu.
I gave my entrance exam in march 2013, after which I watched all the episodes in hindi in youtube.
since IPK came in my life, many things changed for good. I coped up with the tension of my entrance exam, because of which I bagged a good rank and good seat in MDS. its with me through the tensions of my PG. its my strength, friend, companion and every thing. ppl feel I m stupid, but I know what IPK is to me.
and finally my mission got successful. now I can understand hindi completely, and can speak (though with some minor grammatical errors. 😃
uff! its a long post. but I felt like sharing my journey.
