My dear dear friends,

Sorry for falling off the virtual face of the Earth. It really could not be helped. As you very well understand, India-forums is an addictive place. There is no middle ground when we use this site. I knew that visiting this website on and off meant staying online, which was the exact opposite of what the doctor prescribed, which was to cut down drastically on my tech and comp time for sometime. Hence, I did the only thing I had to to get better. I signed out and stayed away.

I was touched deeply by your concern for my health and I'm sorry for not keeping you updated about my progress. I'm blessed to have friends like you who constantly checked up on me. Thank you ... 🤗 Hope each and every one of you is doing well and thriving in your personal and professional fronts. Group hug to all my HoT girls 😃

Anyway, coming to the present ... I am feeling much better but am not completely there (Physiotherapy continues). Therefore, typing for long hours is not yet recommended.

When I began writing The Hands of Time, nothing major was happening in my life; the very reason for my decision to start a new story. However, it turned out to be a poor choice for soon I was inundated with various problems. And there has generally been no reprieve over the last few months from something or the other taking over my life.

Today, I am here to tell you that no matter what happens, I'll complete this story. I'm not a quitter. In fact, I am very stubborn about finishing what I begin. I am obsessively compulsive about reaching my goals however big or minute they are; a trait that is annoying to people around me in AD but one that helps me to accomplish what I set out to do in the first place.

However, I'll need sometime (Unfortunately I cannot give you a timeline right now) before I begin my regular updates, as my life continues to spin like crazy even now. I did plan to start writing this month but that plan went awry due to the recent news.

Friends, you have all heard about how man proposes and God disposes. I proposed to write but God (or should I say my husband's boss, the CEO) disposed that plan for the time being.

Yes, I'm going to be busy over the next couple of months because we (my family) are relocating to a new country. We are leaving China and moving to yet another country where the culture, geography, ethnography, language and lifestyle will be nothing like my current place of residence. It is that time when I need to pick up the book on Culture Shock all over again.

For an expat, relocation time is turbulent to say the least. It is that time when we dismantle our home, say goodbye to closest friends and leave behind everything that holds dear to our heart... to say hello to the unknown.

You see expat life is interesting, intriguing, nomadic and culturally liberating too. It excites us and we embrace it. However, the move itself can be exhausting and consuming. To put it mildly, my energies need to be entirely focussed on our relocation for the next two months.

None of the above are excuses for me to not write. I genuinely do not have the kind of time needed to write (to think, plot, write and edit needs some peace of mind and time as well). It is the reality and I am hoping for your patience and understanding.

Thank you very much Sandhya for updating your situation.I trust you , I mean I know that you will not quit before completing the story and I can perfectly understand the circumstances which resulted in the delay. We will be waiting for the updates ( not so patiently though ) .

no probs sandhya...glad to hear you are fine and recovering...we HOT readers will wait...we know you will come back for sure...but yes, personal life is more important and health should be the priority...take care of yourself...and concentrate on your relocation first...get settleted and then come back
