Part 8

The family bid aduie to Arnav and Khushi happily for their honeymoon. Anjali circled the thali before Khushi and Arnav once which she considered to be auspicious for a new beginning. Arnav seemed tensed by his sister's behaviour sometimes. Was she happy that he was going with Khushi for this honeymoon? When everyone else were giving their wishes to Khushi, teasing her, Arnav was trying to avoid all this and standing far away from them. Anjali came there.

Anjali: Chotte. Is everything okay? WHy are you so dull? You should be happy you are going to spend time with her.

Arnav: Di? Khushi is just my wife , for name sake. Who better than you know that? And you still think taking her for a honeymoon, me or her can be happy?

Anjali: But Lavanya is along. And

Arnav: Di please. Even though we are together, I dont think its going to work out anyway. I . I feel like I am being crushed by both sides. I cant give Khushi any rights as her husband because I dont love her. And the person whom I love is unable to trust my behaviour towards her.

Anjali: Did she say anything because you getting Khushi along for the trip?

Arnav: No she didnt. But I know her. She is unhappy and I just hope she tries to understand what made me take this step.

Anjali: I know Chotte. Lavanya has to understand if she truly loves you. Sometimes I feel, why cant Lavanya think like Khushi? Khushi is no one to us yet she understands our needs, our requirements from her so well. And Lavanya, whom we know from past so many years, we still cant rely on her completely to adjust in our family environment. Huhh. Thats fate after all. But you dont think about all of this. Just go and spend some good time.

The point which his Di raised today had already created the same doubts in his mind too. But for now, he only had to ignore them and move ahead in life. He hoped as the time passes, Lavanya will understand things for better.

Lavanya met them in the Airport while collecting the boarding passes. None of them had informed Nani that she too was travelling with them. Khushi was very uncomfortable especially when Lavanya was holding Arnav's arm and trying to show her how much close they were. Khushi always kept a distance from them because she did not wanted to disturb their privacy. They were sitting at the gates waiting for the baording to start. Arnav got some coffee for her. Lavanya seemed to be on some important call.

Arnav: You feeling okay?

Khushi took the coffee from him and smiled.

Arnav: You seem to be nervous. Is this the first time you going to sit in a flight?

Khushi: Yes.

Arnav: Dont be scared. You wont realise anything once it takes off.

Khushi: Arnavji. Are you still sure to take me to Singapore? I dont want to come there and.

She was unable to describe why she didnt like accompanying them. Arnav was too smart to understand that. She was just avoiding being a third person.

Khushi: Its still not too late to change the decision. I will stay back here. With my father.

Arnav: And what will you tell him ?

Khushi: I will tell him you are out for some work and so I came to stay with him.

Arnav: And what if somehow Nani comes to know ? If not now at least later at some point what if she comes to know that only I had been to Singapore and you stayed back?

Khushi: Arnavji. Some day or the other, this matter will be known to her. I will try my best not to come out of the house or pick any calls that my father gets.

Arnav saw how her hands shivered. She was very nervous. He placed his hand on hers , holding her palms tight. There was a wave of current that crossed in her body within seconds and the shivering stopped.

Arnav: You dont need to think so much. If nothing else, at least you will get to see a new country.Think it that way and come with us.

Lavanya finished her call as she heard the ground staff making an announcement of boarding. She saw Arnav holding Khushi's hand. Her blood boiled in anger. She caught Arnav's arm and faking a smile told him they should be leaving now. She snatched Khushi's boarding pass and gave her ticket to her.

Lavanya: Me and ASR will sit together. You take my seat behind.

Khushi didnt mind but Arnav was not happy because this was pure selfishness Lavanya was showing today.

Arnav: Lavanya, Khushi is scared. She cannot sit alone

Lavanya: There is always a first time for everyone ASR. And she will find her company.

Arnav wanted to defend but Khushi interrupted.

Khushi: Its fine Lavanyaji. I will be comfortable . Thanks

Without waiting for Arnav and Lavanya, she joined the queue for getting in the plane.

Arnav: Lavanya this is not right.

Lavanaya: What is not right ASR? She took the place in your house which belonged to me. Cant I get some place beside you at least in this journey?

Arnav: It was you who gave her that place on purpose.

Lavanya: Yes I did that. But if I know how to give something which is mine temporarily ASR, I know how to take it back from them forever. I am not doing any injustice to her. She knows she doesnt have any right on you. So why are you reacting this way?

Arnav: I am being human Lavanya. But may be I am expecting too much from you.

He left to join the queue. Lavanya could see how easily he was getting seperated from her. It had been almost 3 weeks for their marriage and this was her condition. How can she survive seeing them together for the next 5 months and 7 days?

After a very messy journey, the three managed to reach Singapore. They checked in the hotel. Coincidently the manager of the Hotel was Nani's old friend. She was in the hotel business since years and knew the Raizada family very well. Lavanya was not known to this fact when she had booked the hotel. But when Arnav realised what might happen if Nani comes to know that Lavanya had accompanied them too, he asked Lavanya to pretend not being with them and check in seperately. Lavanya was again restless when Arnav collected their room keys and took Khushi along. Why was fate always favouring Khushi and not her?

Khushi helped Arnav unpack the bags, she was being a good wife even though she knew Arnav never wanted her to act like his wife at least when they were not been watched by their family. But she was not acting here. Whatever she did for him was genuine, understanding how much pressure he had from Lavanya's side regarding their baseless relationship. Arnav always noticed her efforts in making him comfortable, even though she herself was going through such a big turmoil in her life. He appreciated that, though not directly, still somewhere in his heart he always admired this selfless quality of hers.

Khushi was having her bath when Lavanya entered their room to meet Arnav and told him how she had ordered a special candle light dinner for them in some other resort which was nearby. She wanted to spend the entire night with him in that resort because that was the only way to keep him away from that Khushi.

Lavanya: ASR please dont deny now. Did I ever question you why you got Khushi along with us ? This was supposed to be our trip but her presence is just spoiling it. Am I asking too much now?

Arnav: Lavanya try to understand, If I have got her here its because of my family.

Lavanya: And they are not here to check if their so called bahu is enjoying her honeymoon or not. So please dont think so much. I have ordered food for her in the room. She will have it and sleep. You dont have to worry about her. Dont you wish to spend time with me ASR?

She always tried to blackmail him showing her love for him and playing such antics. She knew how easily he melts down. But this was all accepted until he hadnt committed himself to Khushi. Now a simple step he takes towards Lavanya or Khushi, can hurt the other woman which he had to be conscious of.

Arnav: I wish to spend time with you Lavanya but its not possible here. Drop the plan. We three will have the Dinner in this hotel only .I am going down to make some calls. Come soon.

Arnav's indifference had given another reason for Lavanya's anger to build up against Khushi. She left the room in disappointment but promised herself to teach Khushi a lesson so that she realises what mistake she did by accepting Arnav's proposal to come here.

Khushi wore a light pink saree and was looking for Arnavji at the Swimming pool area where he had asked her to meet him. From here, he would accompany both the ladies for the Dinner. But neither Arnav was visible nor Lavanya. She kept fiddling with her pallu. THis place was new for her and also the people around. The flight journey ,sitting next to unknown people had scared her already and now whenever she was left alone here, she felt more insecured. Suddenly someone patted her shoulder. She turned around with a jerk.

Khushi: Lavanyaji? Thank God you came. I was feeling very lonely

Lavanya was little drunk but she still managed to vent out her frustration on her.

Lavanya: Lonely? You are feeling lonely? Dont lie Khushi. You have made my life miserable . You have made me alone. What do you think? You will act like a responsible bahu and wife and steal my ASR from me? This will never happen. Understood?

Khushi : Lavanyaji please dont misunderstand me.I

Lavanya: Ohh Shut up. Just shut that sweety sweety talks of yours. I am not ASR who will be misguided by those lovely sentences. I am Lavanya. The sexiest girl whom every man desires. Even your husband ASR . And who are you? A cheap low class girl who sold herself for some peice of money? You can never compete me. Never.

Khushi's eyes became moist. She wished to leave this place at once. Lavanya blocked her way

Lavanya; Aahh Where do you think you are going? Ooopps Tears. ? My god. You might get drowned if you shed them so much. You wish to swim? Wait. You dont need tears for that. There is plenty of water around.

Khushi: Lavanyaji please. Let me go. I am fine.

Lavanya:Aww. My poor baby got scared. DOnt know to swim, do you? But so what? Once you get in the water you will learn it .

She pushed Khushi in the water and toasted her drink towards her. But to her surprise she heard Arnav's voice screaming aloud her name from behind. He was looking at her so angrily as if he would kill her the very next moment. Lavanya dropped her drink down. She was that scared seeing him.

If Lavanya even had the slightest hint that Arnav will be around when she was misbehaving with Khushi, she would never do this act and spoil her own image before Arnav. But now the mistake was done and she was seeing the consequence of it. Arnav had jumped into the Swimming pool to save Khushi who was suffocating in the 6 feet water, trying to balance her body and screaming for help. Arnav swimmed deeper into the pool and roughly managed to get hold of Khushi's hand. He picked her wet body in his arms, their clothes clinging to their bodies and each other. Khushi was in a semi-conscious state while Arnav tried reaching back to the pool stairs. Lavanya wanted to pretend rectifying her mistake and came forward to help Arnav but he did not need it anymore. Giving a scorn look to Lavanya, he carried Khushi all the way back to their hotel room. Her shivering body can get warmth only there.
