Chapter 15-A
In everyone's life come few opportunities which make you feel special, pampered and cared. Today was one of those days in Khushi Raizada's life.
The moment she opened the boxes given by Arnav, she couldn't believe her eyes and neither did she dare to believe right now, her body wrapped in the gifts given by her new husband.
Life always showers you with happiness when you least expect it, Khushi believed these words only today. As she stood in the room giving last minute touch to her whole appearance, she felt shy and excited.
She wasn't that dumb to not understand the subtle hints being dropped by her husband. Each and every gesture and glance by him screamed hopes of a future together to her.
She should have rebuffed all of them instantly.
Only if she hadn't had this insane heart felt craving to be tied to this family. In the last ten years, she felt complete only during last fourteen days.
Her family felt complete. Arnav and Manyata, both cared for her and never shied away from showing the same.
Wasn't it what she wanted when she was a kid, a teenager, a girl and now a woman?
Life never expect anyone to be alone and sad. Those who don't have someone by their side, weathers away slowly without anyone's notice on them.
Khushi never wanted that. And why on the earth should she be alone when two people actually need her?
Just this time, she wanted to be selfish.
She wanted to do something for herself. Khushi knew that for being together in future, Arnav has already taken the first step.
It's her turn now.
And she did the same by walking out of the room, leaning against the staircase to look down at Arnav who was already there looking handsome as ever in a black tuxedo, waiting for her.
The moment Khushi knew that she had Arnav's attention, she straightened while her lips tipped up in a smile and started descending the stairs looking confident.
This is a dream.
And if it's the reality, then god never make me sleep for dreams might ruin this out of words reality.
Arnav chanted mentally, unable to close his eyes and pray for the same. He felt as someone has snapped his mouth shut by a rope while his tongue felt frozen, making him unable to make any noise lest say something.
Because right in front of him, stood Khushi Raizada, his wife, looking totally out of this world.
When he had laid eyes on the dress in the mall, he didn't remember it looking so beautiful.
But now with his wife wearing this strapless full length taffeta evening dress with fitted bodice which leisurely showed her curves along with her ample creamy inviting cleavage, Arnav felt his mouth turn dry. Her thick, black silky hairs were pulled up in a loose bun, tendrils curling around her face kissing her now red cheeks at every movement.
His tongue darted out to moisten his now dry lips the moment he looked down at the slight ruching at her hip, emphasizing the shape of it which his eyes traced languidly. He didn't even dare to look at the slit of the gown which showed her long, creamy legs.
God, is she planning to kill him tonight only? Arnav cursed himself for the moment he bought this dress. Atleast her dull sarees never made him trace her body ever.
And it never made him loose control as well. He thought blue is supposed to be the color signifying peace and order but why that damned blue gown against her creamy, soft skin hit him like it was the most provocative thing he had ever seen any woman wear?
Arnav looked away abruptly, exhaling sharply the moment he realized he was holding his breath till now. Shaking his head and reminding himself about the party, he turned back and that was when he noticed what Khushi was wearing around her neck.
It was the diamond pendant he had bought for her, a half- moon shaped locket crusted with tiny diamond tracing the shape of it. The diamond hoop earrings dangling in her ears looked perfect with it.
At the store, when he had first looked at it, he knew it would be perfect for his wife.
The pendant meant something to him at the very first glance. The way moonlight during night makes everything look calm and serene, his wife's presence in his life started doing the same to him.
His glinting black eyes met her warm, understanding brown ones. And that's when he smiled realizing that Khushi has perfectly understood the meaning behind his gifts.
The moment her feet stopped at the bottom step, Arnav stepped forward and brought his hand forward in silent invitation.
As she slid her dainty, cold hand into his, he pulled her closer and curved her hand around his elbow.
"You look beautiful, Khushi." He murmured slowly, his enchanting gaze on her. Khushi blushed, not replying at all, acknowledging his words with a smile which brought a soft, pleased look in his eyes. Khushi knew she definitely liked this Arnav.
Arnav escorted her outside the house, looking proud and happy to have her walking along with him.
Not forgetting it was the first time they were walking together, closer not because someone forced them to but because they both wanted to.
The moment Arnav's car stopped in front of Hyatt Hotel where Shyam was hosting the party, photographers rushed towards it and started clicking their picture together while pressing their faces against the window, knowing very well that it was their first appearance together, which will definitely spice the content of their newspapers.
Shaking his head, Arnav patiently waited for his personal security to shove them aside before pressing the button which unlocked the doors.
Buttoning his coat, he walked out barely glancing at the paparazzi before walking towards the opposite door and pulling it open for Khushi.
Quickly settling the blue dress wrap around her shoulders, Khushi caught Arnav's hand and sauntered out before she turned to look around.
With their hands entwined together, Arnav and Khushi walked inside smiling at the cameras while avoiding answering their questions.
But with them walking together looking perfect, their posture hinting at their intimate and explosive chemistry while their entwined hands spoke of their marriage going strong, the paparazzi was more than happy to feel bad about it.
They were more than happy to have captured the town's new hot couple in their cameras.
As Arnav and Khushi reached inside the main hall booked for the launch party, their eyes together zeroed in on Shyam surrounded by fellow writers, looking seriously engrossed in a discussion.
Ignoring the people staring at them, Khushi and Arnav started walking towards him when someone brushed past Arnav and stopped with a start the moment he looked at them.
"Arnav." Arnav froze as he heard the voice uttering his name affectionately. It was Akash.
