Part 21

Weeks passed quickly and Anjali's pregnancy was in its 5th month now. Shyam Gupta's Divorce matter was still in the process and according to the Lawyer it would still take a few more months to get it officially ended. Khushi and Arnav gave their full support and courage to Anjali to come out of her Husband's fake love and live for the forthcoming future of her baby. A great change was observed in Arnav - Khushi relationship too. Arnav had started maintaining a slight distance from his wife , giving her ample of space and time to know he loves her and wants her in his life .He didnt wish to rush to things against her likes. They talked, they shared the same room and sometimes even shared their daily activities with each other. Their bond was growing mentally and this was his first way of linking with her mind. He knew a day would come when their hearts would link too.

In all these months there was someone else who had started suffering too. Shyam Gupta who stayed alone in Sheesh Mahal, Lucknow was living a hell in that big house, having no one beside him whom he could say his own. After Daayimaa's departure from that house, it seemed like his life had started ending. He tried to get in touch with his own sister Khushi who never returned his calls back nor did she think of speaking to him even once asking his whereabouts. He was breaking slowly from within day by day.

Whenever he saw his servants playing with their kids in the backside of the house, he could feel the need of having his own wife and kids whom he could spend his time with. He had slowly started realising the meaning of having a family but it was too late .The Divorce matter was still On and he knew after what he did , Anjali will never forgive him. He had no idea if he even loved his wife but today one thing he surely had realised. He needed her because he was missing her.

He remembered the day when he had seen her first in the market helping a small child , 8 years back, buying him the Ice cream which he couldnt even afford. Her generous nature had attracted him. How can he forget that day because he was late for his interview as he couldnt take his eyes off her. She was beautiful and most importantly she had a lovely smile which could fill hearts with love. When she was gone back from her car, he came out of reverie and rushed catching an auto rickshaw for the interview. He was half an hour late and he wished they consider it as his last fault and accept his resume for the job. Luck was by his side because the candidates before him who were interviewed could not clear the Face to face round with their Boss who seemed to be very strict in terms of honesty and hardwork; both which were inbibed in him right from his childhood. When he entered inside for meeting the Boss, he couldnt have asked more because she was none other than the same girl whom he had seen in the market. So she was Anjali Raizada, the CEO of the Raizada Group of companies which those days had a chain of textile industries. Their meet was very professional and she liked his thoughts and simple answers to the point. She selected him for the position and he finally got a Perfect Job he was looking for to raise his Kid sister Khushi , who was hardly 13.

As days started passing, he could observe some changes in his Boss's behaviour and one day she baffled him confessing she had started liking him and probably even loving. He couldnt believe it but there was no chance he could deny the opportunity of marrying her. He was still passing through a very rough time those days where his Mortaged house was taken back by the banks and he was left no home to take shelter anymore. He and his baby Sister Khushi whom he considered to be like his daughter were left homeless and on the roads , seeking help from his old friends and relatives who never entertained them. Marrying Anjali was the only choice he could opt that time. He knew Anjali's wealth can support him and make him give his sister the best life ahead. But his dreams started shattering when Anjali told Shyam that all the money that was hers , she was going to transfer in to her younger brother's name as it always belonged to him.. He was the son of the house and since he was nearing his 16, he would be given everything that she just took care of all these years.

Shyam was scared again of his future and he took the worst decision of his life in a hurry . He married Anjali and before she could even hand all the property on Arnav's name, Shyam made her sign the legal papers without her notice and assigned everything on his name. It was just a day after marriage when Anjali realised it and there was a big fight between the newly married couple. The fight became so fiery that Shyam dragged Anjali and Arnav out of their own house and asked them to leave if she cannot accept the fact that from now on, he was the owner of it. She broke down but didnt return back to him. Taking her young brother she was still walking on the roads when she was hit by a passing truck. Young Arnav with the help of some people took her to the hospital, their Nani was informed who immediately came there for her Grandchildren's help. The Dr's operated ANjali and made the family one thing clear, her brain had suffered many injuries and this could give chances for her mental instability. The same thing happened which scared everyone. She almost had forgot what had happened with her. She started living in a fake world that her husband was out for work , leaving her and Arnav with her Nani and family. The Dr's suggested she needed a break from her past life and only love of her family will help her be normal again. EVen of Nani had the capabilty to fight back for ANjali's property from Shyam , for the sake of her own Grandchild she ignored everything and took the kids to Delhi.

Life moved on but not the condition of Anjali which started becoming worser as days passed and she was still living in the illusion that her husband loved her the most .Arnav was growing hatred in his mind and heart for that Man who ruined his sister's life to this extent and thats when he decided to revenge him. Everything started from there on. The 8 years which both the families stayed apart got many changes in Shyam too . He had some temporary hook ups with girls which Khushi wasnt much aware of .She was the apple of her brother's eyes and Arnav knew that. Money and power changed the loyal man in Shyam to become a Devil who could do anything for his sister , forgetting the sins he did on Anjali, who was also someone's daughter and sister.

Shyam threw the drink glass down on the floor in anger. His own sins had started pricking his inner conscience and screaming at him for being a worst brother and an unfaithful husband who messed up everyone's life who were so close to him. Repentance was the only way left now which could give him at least a peace of mind that he had realised his mistakes and now sorting them out.

Shantivan

Khushi was alone in the house today when Hari Prakash told Shyam had come down to meet her. It was hard to believe he came here because yet none of the family members had forgot what this man did with them . But the heart of a sister was still weak and she couldnt wait to know how her Brother was. She came down and the first thing she noticed in him were his dull eyes. Seemed like he had some sleepless nights these days. Shyam put a smile on his face seeing Khushi after almost 3 months. He hugged her when she came near him but she remained motionless. He realised she hadnt forgiven him which was too early for him to expect.

Khushi : Kiss haq se yahan aaye hai aap? Yahan koi aap ki shaqal bhi nahi dekhna chahte hai . CHale jaiye . (What right made you come here? NO one wishes to even see your face. So please leave)

She had to make her heart strong to utter such rough words to him but she had no guilt too because he deserved it.

Shyam forwarded the papers to Khushi which were signed by him.

Shyam: Ehsaas hai humme Khushi , humaari har galti ka ehsaas hai humme. Pehle Rani Saheba humme chod ke chale gayi , phir tum aur ab Daayimaa bhi . Hum apne hone waale bacche ko apna nahi keh sakte kyon ki hum uss layak hi nahi hai ki acche pita ban sake. Sab kuch kho diya humne Khushi. Paiso ke laalach ne humme itna andha banaa diya ki hum apne hi rishto ko chot pohuchate rahe. Par ab aur nahi. Hum apni galtiyon ko sudharna chahte hai. Aur yeh uska pehla kadam hai. (I have realised my mistakes Khushi. First Rani Saheba left me, then my sister and now even DaayiMaa. I cant even claim a right on my would be baby because I can never be a good father. I have lost everything. For the greed of money I have hurted my own relations. But not anymore. I wish to correct on my past mistakes and And this is my first step)

Khushi was somewhere happy that her brother realised his mistakes. She took the papers from him.

Khushi: Yeh hai kya? (Whats this?)

Shyam: Sheesh Mahal aur un saare bank accounts ke papers joh Rani Saheba se humne 8 saal pehle cheene the. Yeh sab kuch unka hai, humaara nahi. Aur aaj main yeh sab kuch unhe wapas dena chahta hoon. Unse aankh milaane ki himmat nahi hai hum mein . Tum de dena. ( Legal papers of Sheesh Mahal and all other bank lockers which I had snatched from Anjali 8 years back. It belongs to her, not me. And I want to give it back to her. I dont have the courage to meet her eyes hence giving it to you. )

Khushi was shocked. She never expected him to return back Anjali's property to her. SHe looked in his eyes and could easily see tears of repentance. He touched Khushi's cheeks lovingly for one last time.

Shyam: Main Maafi ke layak toh hu nahi Khushi, par phir bhi, kabhi iss bade bhai ko maaf kar dena. (I am not worth to be forgiven Khushi, but some day please forgive me for all bad deeds)

Khushi: Hummein yakeen nahi hai aap par. Iss mein bhi koi aapki chaal hogi . (I dont believe you . This time you cannot play with us)

Shyam: Hum apni behan ki kasam kabhi jhooti nahi kha sakte Khushi. Iss baar hum wohi kar rahe hai joh bahut pehle ho jaana chahiye tha. Hum ne Lucknow Chod diya hai humesha ke liye. Bus tumhe ek baar dekhna chahte the, Rani Saheba se milne ki himmat nahi hai hum mein. Bus unse keh dijiye ga ki humme yeh ehsaas hai ki hum unke laayak kabhi the hi nahi. Unki maafi toh humme kabhi milegi nahi Khushi. Iss rishtey see azaad hokar hi unhe saari khushiyan dobara mil sakti hai jo humne unhe kabhi nahi di. (I can never take my Sister's false promise khushi. This time I am doing what should have been done long back by me. I have left Lucknow forever. I wished to see you once but I have no courage to face Rani Saheba. Just tell her that I realise I am not fit to her husband or get her love. I will never earn her forgiveness but I wish getting freed from our marriage she will once again get all the happiness she deserved once and which I could never give her)

Khushi's eyes moistened. His touch started losing from her face as he moved back seeing his sister for one last time. He didnt know if he would ever be able to see her again in life. Khushi stood numb at the spot thinking what he meant by doing all this. Why did he leave Lucknow? Where would he go now? Was he really repenting on his misdeeds? Before she could even get answers to this, her brother was gone. She rushed outside till the gates but he was no longer visible. She saw her husband getting down the Car , back from his work. Nothing seemed right in her heart at this moment. Till he could even see her there, she rushed into his arms , hugging him tight , holding the file in her hand and crying on his chest. Arnav was disturbed and surprised seeing her condition. He completed the hug not caring they were being watched by his Guards and other servants around, all he wanted to do was provide some solace to his crying wife who still was trying to hold her tears so that she can speak her heart out.
