Sorry for not commenting the previous few chapters. Arnav and Khushi's relationship is slowly progressing, but Arnav's trust issues are becoming a major hindrance in it. Perhaps it would have been easier for Khushi to understand Arnav if Sumer had told her the truth before the marriage. Instead, he was too ashamed of himself and didn't want to see disappointment in Khushi's eyes. Khushi not knowing about Arnav's past, however, is probably going to make their relationship and understanding of each other stronger. She has to start from scratch with him, with almost no prior knowledge of his past. She has to work to decipher his emotions and the reasoning behind his reactions, as absurd and uncalled for as they may be. She is slowly starting to understand his possessive yet suspicious side.
He believes in fidelity but has never seen it. Khushi, for him, is someone who can turn into his mother. He probably knows deep down that Khushi is different from his mom, or he would not have married her in the first place. His whole life, however, has revolved around greed, infidelity, and a lack of love, causing suspicion to be an intrinsic quality in him. No matter how much he would like to fully trust Khushi, he simply can't. She needs to prove to him that she is his, and only his. The whole situation with Rishabh definitely does not help alleviate his trust issues. Having said that, Arnav is slowly warming up to Khushi and is more forward with his emotions. Yes, he is still stubborn, extremely possessive, proud, and insecure, but he shows his feelings the only way he can: physically. Asking Khushi to kiss him is purely an act of claiming her as his. It would test Khushi's allegiance to him, which is why her rejection hurt. He isn't used to women being so shy, so tentative in their actions. With Khushi, he has to rethink his whole methodology. She would not be content with a purely physical relationship. She, like him, needs stability and comfort.
It is interesting to see how the scars from Arnav's past are slowly getting healed and how Khushi's insecurities about her appearance are being erased by Arnav. They are, actually, perfect for each other. He can provide the stability of a relationship for her and give her the tenderness she thought she would never get from a husband. She gives him her commitment to the marriage and allows him to feel the love he never receives as a child. Their relationship is still in the beginning stages, though, and they still need to talk through many things. They are taking steps in the positive direction, mostly, and I can't wait to read more about the progression of both the characters and of their relation.
