PART 38

It was past 9 when Arnav, Khushi and Ansh entered AR. As they entered, the staffs wished them. But one person was with his blank face. Who can it be other than Aman Mathur?

DM: He does have some problem all the time.

BJ: Confused soul he is!!

Meenu: Hehehe!! Good to see someone as confused as me 😛 Now no more gossiping u both.

Arnav and Khushi went to the cottageto meet Buaji and Aarthy. Both of them took their blessings.. Buaji touched Arnav's head lovingly while Aarthy hugged Khushi.

Aarthy: Khushi bitiya, My son and his son are in your hands now. And I know they are in safe hands.

Khushi smiled wryly.

Khushi: My responsibilities are never left hanging.

Aarthy sighed: I know bitiya.

Buaji could see the ice wall between Aarthy and Khushi. It dint take long time to smell it as Buaji has seen world much before Khushi could. So she wanted to talk to Arnav about her and their life.

Buaji: Arnav babua, can I have a word with you nandakisore. Woh Parmeshwar, I mean even Aditya wanted to talk to you.

Arnav smiled and called Sanjay.

Arnav: Sanjay, can you send Aditya gupta to my private pool garden for sometime?

Arnav cut the call and turned to buaji.

Arnav: Chaliye buaji.

Saying he left while Khushi went with Ansh who was pulling her out so that he was play outside.

Arnav made buaji and Aditya sit in the chairs in the poolside garden. And waited for them to open up.

Buaji: Babua! You may feel strange, but the Khushi you are seeing now is not our Khushi. I don't know what happened three years back in delhi babua. But the sanka devi whom I sent there to study came back to me like a living corpse. The livewly twinkle in her eyes was dead the day she returned. Andar se ek dum mar gayi thi woh. Buaji had tears in her eyes as she recalled the robotic Khushi as she returned. Arnav and Aditya's eyes were wet too.

Buaji: Then I came to know about her prem babua. But she wont say me his name. This parmeshwar with whom she shares everything also wont say me anything. I tried talking to her. But she locked herself up. All our measures to bring her back went waste like coins thrown in a river. It took nearly one year for us to bring her back to her normal routine. Uski har waqt rona, apne aap ko band karwana, kisi se baat na karna, lagat he jesan woh beetar hi ghut ghut ke mar jayegi. Narak tha babua, hamare sanka devi ko esan dekhna. It was a lively hell in fron of our eyes.

Aditya: At this stage she met Ankit ji.

Arnav gritted his teeth and fisted his palm hearing Ankit's name.

DM: Baap re baap. Itna possessive? Itna jalan, itna gussa.

BJ: Huh! Aurat kya jane yeh sab. You will know this insecure feeling when I see some apsara here.

DM: Noch lenge aapke aankh.

BJ: now you get it

He winked, DM blushing and embarrassed.

Meenu: Hai re Nandakisore!

Aditya: He lost his love, his would be wife on the day of their sangeet in an accident. He was depressed too. This common thing brought them close, but as friends not as couple. Ankit ji gave her a job in his construction office and soon his father too started liking Jiji.

Buaji: Ankit bitwa's father thought of getting them married as we did not want them to live their life alone mourning over their lost love. But that was not they wanted. At last Ankit bitwa agreed for the marriage not before making clear that it will a compromise nothing sort of normal marriage. He did not want see his father worrying about him. We were happy that they will at least be for each other. Sanka devi Khoosi was.

Buaji smiled wryly.

Buaji: She never wanted such marriage. She dint want to live a life with Ankit bitwa thinking of her prem. She thought it will be an insult for marriage, prem and dosti and also herself and Ankit bitwa. She had much more clear thinking than we elders had. I had to accept that my Sanka devi will remain akeli all her life. Like Devdas for paro. Suddenly she calls me and tells me that She has decided to marry you for the sake of Ans bitwa. Your son!! This made me think nandakisore. She never wanted a compromise in her marriage. But how come she accepted this. But then I thought, chalo isi bahane, saadhi toh karegi. She will be married n not be alone all her life. I was happy. I am happy. Lekin sab itni jaldi ho gaya babua that we dint get time to get the money that this marriage would cost. So I thought of getting the land documents that Khoosi's babuji and amma has left in her name and Aditya's name. That's when I came to know that she has already sold her share of land 3 years back.

Aditya sushed buaji as he knew this might lead to Arnav's suspision.

Aditya: Sir...

Arnav: Hmmm.. Jeejaji!! Or Jeeju, call me that. Am I not your Jiji's husband?

Aditya and buaji smiled seeing Arnav accept them readily.

Aditya: Jeeju, though jiji sold her share of land, she left my share. So here are those papers. As a token from bride's family.

Arnav: Looks like Khushi's Nanhe has grown up. See buaji, Aditya, I respect your decision of informing me everything. But this I cannot take. As you see I will anyway have to return this to you when you marry my sister.

Aditya opened his eyes wide, while Buaji gave him a confused look.

Arnav(Smiling): What are you looking at? Sanaah is not different from Anjali for me, she is my sister too. And for me Khushi is enough.

Saying he stood up and moved to Aditya who also stood by now. Arnav gave him a hug and whispered in his ears.

Arnav: Looks like you still dint tell buaji about Me and Khushi. Tell her everything and set her mind at rest. And I don't mind about the land or money. She is with and that's it. I have had enough without her in these years.

Aditya broke the hug and smiled at Arnav.

Arnav: Buaji, Yash and Anjali already left to delhi as some business issue has turned, Aman has some work with me. So why don't you take your parmeshwar with you to Lucknow and on the way ask about how he fell in Love with Our, I mean Aman n my sister Sanaah. And if he never said anything about it before, then don't forget to pull his ears.

Buaji laughed and Arnav smiled while Aditya pouted making baby faces.

Aditya: not fair Jeeju. Chaliye buaji, let me pack my stuffs.

They left while Arnav was in his deep thoughts.

Arnav: Khushi sold her land? That too 3 years back. HUH!! WHAT THE!! This 3 years puzzle is going without any end.

BJ(Munching pop corn): Meenu ji ki jai ho. Always what is it with her and this 3

Meenu: My lucky number. Any problem? If there is any you can happily go on a holiday to Rajasthan.. there is too a story there which needs your help.

DM: Uff oh!! What is this swami. Eat your pop corn and enjoy the show. As it is its summer and you riling Meenu ju and want to end us in that hot land.

Arnav was moving to his cabin when Nicky came there.

Nicky: Arnavji, our hearing date has arrived from court. Its day after tomorrow. Mrs. Saxena is the judge.

Arnav: Good! Now send that Aman'to my cabin. Have to set his face and mind right. He has been wandering around with that long face of his since I came here. Looks like he is disturbed.

Nicky: Err.. Arnavji, Sorry. I could not anything from him. I told him everything.

Arnav: And that makes my job easy. Now send him.

Saying Arnav moved to his cabin leaving a tensed yet relived Nicky behind.

Aman came to his cabin and as soon he came in Arnav broke on him.

Arnav: Don't hang that bloody face of yours. Ask that question which you have in that little brain of yours straight.

Aman gaped with wide eyes.

Aman: What? No hello! No HI! Straight to interrogation when I am neither the criminal nor suspect.

Arnav: Oh Oh!! Lawyer ki sangat ka asar? Nicky is teaching you this eh? Nice example by the way. But...

Aman: leave na ASR. Why digging the unwanted.

Arnav: Then this long face. Understand me. I had to do this. If I bring Nicky straight, it may lead to hyper situation.

Arnav was taken aback. Just a few words that Aman said made Arnav realize how weak his love was. But then he composed himself.

Arnav: breath Aman, looks like you have been practicing this for weeks. But what you said, gave me a clue about the missing piece of puzzle. What would I have done without u by my side?

Aman: Behave like THE ASR!! Now tell me what are you doing here the next day of your marriage. You must be with your bride. But wait. Nicky said that the hearing date has been announced, shall I book tickets and hotel?

Arnav: now this sounds like my dumb manager. Why hotel when pinki is in Delhi. She will kill you and me at the same time if she knows this. I have another job for you apart from this.

Aman: at your service my lord!!

Arnav: Shut up Aman. Get me the details of Khushi's land that she sold 3 years ago. Who brought it, for how much etc etc. I want every details. Samjhe? Now move.

Aman smiled and came out that's when it striked that Arnav was asking about the Land Khushi sold 3 years back, for his sake. He dint notice Nicky coming as he was busy muttering.

Aman: HEY DEVI MAIYYA!! I am doomed.

Nicky: Har baat pe unko disturb karne ki zarurat nahi hai.

You don't need to disturb them everytime.

Saying she dragged him along with her.

BJ: Uff Bach gaye!!

DM: That's my dialogue. Anyways, thanks Nicky beta.

Nicky just smiled.

Meenu: so happy are we 😉

Arnav finished his works and went to their cottage, only to see an awkward silence between Aarthy and Khushi. He did wonder about this. He has seen this ice war between them and was confused about how is it possible when they met here at this very place recently. Something goofy. Point to be noted ASR.

DM, BJ: Keep noting, when will you act.

Meenu: Muted BJ n Dm's mic.

Arnav: Khushi, Maa. Ansh's custody case hearing date has arrived. We will have to leave today evening itself and the hearing is day after tomorrow.

Aarthy: Good!! The sooner the better.

Khushi: Hmm... That's better. Shall we leave to do the packing?

Arnav gave both of them a curious look and then placed a hand on KHushi's shoulder as Aarthy left.

Arnav: Khushi! It will be tough time answering the court.

Khushi: I am not a delicate doll Arnav. Not anymore. I can answer them. I have seen worst of the world in past th... few years.

Arnav: 3 years to be precise. Right? Don't swallow yor words. Just throw it on my face like I did. Don't be too good to me.

Khushi sighed heavily.

Khushi: Arnav please lets forget it and move on. I don't want to ponder on past when we have a long life to lead ahead and Ansh...

Arnav: Khushi sometimes, talking does good.

Khushi: Sometimes, silence is better than words. Leave that. We have to pack for our journey.

Saying she started moving when he held her hand and pulled her to him. he pulled her chin up making her face him.

Arnav: you said about life ahead and Ansh. What about us?

Khushi: US? Where is 'us' here? Our marriage is completely for Ansh. Trust me when I say this. I am fine this way/ Lets stay in our own comfy and leave rest to time.

Arnav: Khushi, please don't behave like a stranger to me. Its killing. I know I did mistake. I know I fell weak. But please be yourself.

Khushi: I am not being like a stranger but I am a stranger to you. I don't know the man standing before me. He is an arrogant businessman, a son, a father, a brother. But no one for me. And about me being my old self, do you remember your answer when I asked you the same question that night by the pool?

Arnav thought of that night when he let his emotions overcome his brain. The words he spat having Khushi in his grip.

THE PERSON YOU KNEW IS NO LONGER ALIVE AS YOU YOURSELF KILLED HIM.

Arnav's eyes were glassy with unshed tears.

Arnav: Khushi?

Khushi: The day my Arnav died, his Khushi too died.

She said in a dry tone and left the place leaving behind a vulnerable Arnav who broke down for bringing this fate for his love.

Arnav: Khushi, mere gunaon ka itni badi saza mat do mujhe. Nahi seh paonga. Ghut kar mar jaonga khushi. Paas hoke bhi itni doori kyun? Dawai saath hoke bhi itni dard kyun? Hamare ishq mein itne mushkilen kyun?

Don't punish me this way for my crimes Khushi. I cant take it. I will die out of suffocation. Why are you so far even being so close? Why this pain even when the medicine is with me. Why are there so many hurdles in our Love?

BJ: Itne mein? Kuch thoda hai toh usko teek karne ki zimmedaari bhi aapki hai Arnav babu!!

So soon you lost? When you break something, then the responsibility of setting things right also falls on you.

DM: chor chor!! That's Paro's dialogue to Rudra. But you are right. Arnav has to pay for his deeds to win her back!!

Meenu: Woh asaan bhi nahi.. Lekin who din door bhi nahi!! 😉

So now...most of the truth is out...all left for Arnav to know is ...role of his mother Arthi...

I really wonder if he will ever be able to forgive Arthi for what she did with Khushi ...n how low she made Arnav stoop in his own eyes along with Khushi's...?
