DAY 5

Khushi woke up feeling groggy as sunlight hit her face. The first person she saw was Amit. "Amit Bhaiyya! You're back!" she said, getting up.

Amit rushed forward. "Do you want Ashish to kill me!" he murmured, putting her gently back onto the bed.

Amit hugged Khushi. "I'm so sorry Kuku!"

Khushi said nothing, and looked ahead.

"Where is Bhaiyya?" she asked.

"He is well, with Density…" Amit muttered.

"What?" Khushi asked incredulously.

"Uh, I mean Arnav…"

Khushi almost giggled, but then remembered her child. The laughter died down before it could come out.

"Okay." Khushi said.

Amit sat down by her. "Kuku, why didn't you tell me?"

"Tell you what?"

"Your marriage contract? About Shyam's behavior with you?"

She looked at him with shock. "How do you know?"

"I-I knew it was the lawyer…"

"Why didn't you tell me?" Khushi teared up.

"Because looking at how he was torturing. I was the one who told Anjaliji everything. Shyam's past and all… YOUR past…"

"Di knew all along…" Khushi whispered.

"Yes Kuku. But I-I don't really blame her…"

"She should have told me Bhaiyya!"

"Kuku, if you had told her that you and Arnav were having problems in your relationship, she would have told you. You hid that from her, and she hid it from YOU thinking that she'd put YOUR happy relation in jeopardy…"

Khushi narrowed her eyes. "YOU seem to know her quite well…"

Amit turned a little red. "NO! It's not like that…!"

Khushi quirked an eyebrow. "Not like what?"

Exasperated, Amit stood up and walked out, while Khushi shook her head.

Ashish spent most of his time with Khushi, while Arnav kept a careful watch on her. Khushi was really surprised at him.

She had found out from her brother that Arnav had told him everything.

Ashish had even told her that Anish had blackmailed Arnav, with her life.

The fact that Arnav was ready to let go of his ancestral home and AR brought tears to Khushi's eyes.

It was evening. Ashish was out.

Why was he so hard to understand! Hot 'n' Cold! Hot 'n' Cold! She was SICK of this! She didn't want this anymore! She was tired of all this!

She fell back against her pillow, and watched Arnav come and go. They would stare at each other for some time, each reading the emotion in the eyes of the other, but every time Khushi saw hope in them, she would break away contact and close her eyes, while Arnav would walk back dejected.

Khushi wouldn't talk much and became a shadow of her former self. By night, Aranv and Payal stayed back, while Ashish took Dee home with him and the other members of the family.

DAY 6

Amit, Ashish and Arnav knew exactly how to get things done.

Shyam had the proof that Muskaan had collected long ago. It was handed over to Arnav for 10 Lakh Rupees. Shyam had been bailed out of jail by Arnav on the condition that Shyam would stay in a hotel room which had CCTV camera which had connections to Arnav's mobile.

With the help of Amit's lawyer friend, the case had been reopened. By the looks of evidence, no trial was needed at all. It was way too obvious that Anish Mallik was a criminal.

Anish Mallik was charged with murder of an entire family, murder threat and also the murder of his own brother. This was courtesy to Shyam, who told them that after Ratna Mallik had committed suicide, Anish realized that he could have EVERYTHING so had gotten Aniket Mallik killed too. Later, charges for attempt to seize property by force also was charged against him. And in the end, with Anjali's idea, harassment of minors was also added. Though 'harassment' was an exaggerated term of throwing the minors out of the house, the family members called it 'harassment' in court.

And as Arnav walked out of the courthouse, along with Ashish and Amit, they were stalked by media.

"Is it true you are married to the daughter of the victim?"

"Mr Gupta, how do you feel about the fact that your sister is married to the son of your parents' killer?"

Ashish froze and turned to face the puny woman who had asked this. "Miss uh..." he looked at her tag. "Malhotra? Right. Miss Malhotra, my sister married the SON, not the murderer himself. Why should I mind? Besides, hasn't Mr Raizada clearly told you that he is no more a Mallik?"

He pushed the mic out of his face and continued to walk through the media.

"Thank you..." Arnav said softly to Ashish, as he glared his best at another media person.

"It IS the truth…"

"So you have accepted me as her husband?"

"I never said that…"

"You said you don't mind?" Arnav quizzed.

"I don't mind on the grounds that you are a Mallik. I DO mind on the grounds that you hurt my sister a LOT." Ashish whispered back.

Arnav nodded with a sigh and finally reached the car, before he heard a blood-freezing question.

"Mr Raizada, was she the same woman who had fallen into your arms an year back? News was making rounds that she was doing this for money. She had left Lucknow and then had turned up in your office right?"

Arnav froze, but Amit's calming hand stopped him, and Ashish's glare shut the reporter.

"A source tells us that you suspected your wife to be cheating on you… That she was having an affair with your brother-in-law?"

Before either Ashish or Amit could respond, Arnav had turned around and given the reporter a neat little punch in the face. "One more time anyone asks me that, I will make sure to put you in jail!" Arnav seethed. Then he grabbed the punched-reporter's ID. "Mr Raichand, better be prepared to be jobless, because you have just given me reason to finish your career! And tell your 'source' that he will turn up in jail by tomorrow dawn!" Arnav growled and got into his car, while Ashish and Amit followed silently.

In the hospital, Khushi was switched on her TV and swapped through the channels. She stopped when she saw Arnav's face. She looked with wide eyes as she saw him hit someone in the face.

"One more time anyone asks me that, I will make sure to put you in jail!" Arnav seethed. Then he grabbed the punched-reporter's ID. "Mr Raichand, better be prepared to be jobless, because you have just given me reason to finish your career! And tell your 'source' that he will turn up in jail by tomorrow dawn!"

She read the headlines 'Business Tycoon gets Uncle arrested!'

Khushi stared at the TV in shock.

She saw as there was replay of the scene, and saw Anish being pushed into a police van. Background said that he had been sued on the grounds of killing Raizada's wife's parents.
