<font color="#00cc33">I should be working on my other FF but here this one...a product of my angst after watching some parts of the hate marriage track recently.</font>
</div>[DIV]

<font color="#660066" size="4" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Unforgettable</font>

</font>

<font size="3">Blue tie
hanging loose around his neck and the top two buttons on his royal blue shirt
tugged open at his throat, Arnav Singh Raizada, the business tycoon , the owner
of AR Designs, the man frequently dubbed as the handsome young magnate by the
press, sat sprawled in the deck chair near the pool outside his bedroom. His
eyes stuck on the twinkling stars on the firmament searching for someone he
could never find, the blunt-ended fingers of one beautifully shaped hand lightly
clasping a squat crystal glass half full of whisky smuggled secretly into the
Raizada mansion. </font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">It was
late; the house of quite. As usual most of the inmates had gone into a peaceful
slumber,a peace that had been wrenched away from the lonely man who sat under
the stars everyday. </font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Stop,
dear readers. Don't be too hasty to pity him. Don't let your heart be softened
by the tiredness in his eyes, the grooves around his life-toughened mouth
though they seem to be more harshly etched than ever. He is a man who has
driven away his own happiness; who had grossly misunderstood an innocent pure
soul who had misfortune of falling in the love with him. He had torn her to
shreds with his words, bruised her body and heart, made every attempt to send
her away. He had realized his error too late; and the moment he decided to change the
order of things, she decided to give up on him. His savior left him; and then,
as he had told her so often, he had what he wanted; silence. And with it came darkness, mind numbing loneliness.</font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">He
turned his head to look at the bare walls of his room; they echoed the
hopelessness of his life: no colour, no music, no laughter. Some bright spark somewhere had once made the
classic remark that home was where the heart was. Our man, Arnav Singh Raizada,
known only as ASR these days, no longer believed he had a heart. Home, these
days, tended to be any place he could lay his head and let himself fall in a
drunken stupor to obliterate the memories of his mistakes. And though Raizada
mansion was where his family was, his heart had flown away. </font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Yet he
came here as much as he could.</font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Just in
case Khushi Kumari Guptadecided that it was time, the he had suffered
enough ... he turned back to the stars in the sky looking for the answers once
again. </font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Khushi. .. The fingers around the glass tightened
fractionally. The tough lines of his mouth straightened into a line of such
grim cynicism that if anyone had been there to see it happen, they would have
been backing right off in alarm by now. ASR had never been known for good
temper. Those close to him had seen certain mellowing, rare smiles, even a
boyish burst of laughter when happiness and joy had touched his life for the
briefest of moments. It had been almost a year now.</font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif"></font>

<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">Not since Khushi Kumari Gupta Singh Raizada had
walked out of his life never to be seen or heard from again. She had rescued
him from the gruesome death at the hand of kidnappers only to assign him to a
worse fate. During those dark days, his mind had finally accepted the truth
that had been staring in his face all along. That Khushi was not guilty of the
monstrous betrayal; it was him, his trust, his confidence in himself and the
world around him that had been lacking. He had promised himself that he would
set things right. No more tears, no heartache. Life was too unpredictable to be
wasted. Only later he learnt how unpredictable it was.</font>

[P]<font size="3" face="Times New Roman, Times, serif">He remembered every second of the day when he had
escaped with Khushi's help, when he had seen her the last time. It could have
been only her idea, replacing kerosene with water, that left the kidnappers stumped. His heart
had burst with joy, adrenaline pumped through the veins. 'How can Istay in here
when she is outside.' And he had fought, fought with all his might and rushed
out, to catch the glimpse of her; of Shyam manhandling Khushi,
