Kria threw the newspaper across the room in fury. "He has done it again!" Swayam tactfully caught the paper before it could slam against his face. He read the cause of his sister's behavior and raised his eyebrows at her. "Why don't you just confess and get over with it? Every time he is spotted with a gal, you start throwing tantrums." Kria made a face at him in response. "By the way, isn't the ring worth stealing?" Swayam said, looking back at the newspaper. "I mean that's what we're aiming, right?" Very few people knew that the sweet Ghai siblings were not just caterers but world-class thieves. "I am not gonna steal my best friend's ring," Kria shot back at him. "Bhai ke liye itna bhi nahi karogi kya?" Swayam asked in a sugary-sweet voice. Kria pondered over this. This was actually the perfect way to get revenge on that dumb model. Shanaya had stolen Kria's love, Kria would steal her ring! Tit for tat! Swayam watched Kria think over his words.

What would have been a romantic party has been spoiled for the new lovebirds ReNaya! The engagement ring Reyaansh Singhania used to propose his Shanaya Rathore, his girlfriend of nine months, was stolen during the couples' engagement party. One of our sources has stated that Reyaansh accused his best friend whose name he refuses to reveal. The wedding has been postponed due to this unexpected mishap. We all hope that couple gets their precious ring back soon.
Reyaansh Singhania swirled the ice cubes in his vodka glass, deep in thought. I can't believe she did this to me! I considered her to be my best friend! His heart argued. But she can't do something like this. Yeah she's a thief but she can't steal from her own best friend. His mind scorned all his good intentions. She is a thief and that's the truth! And by the way, she has always hated Shanaya. His heart protested. Her friendship with you is way stronger than her hatred for Shanaya. His mind smirked. You mean was! It's all over now! His heart had to agree with the last sentence. But it was still not satisfied.
FLASHBACK
"Welcome Mr. Malhotra," Shanaya gushed, holding out her hand for him to admire her ring. Reyaansh rolled his eyes. This was the millionth time she was flaunting her ring. Women these days! His eyes shifted to the only woman who was different from the rest'..
"I had ordered 500 different wine glasses! You have got only 499!" Kria was shouting to one of the waiters. "Honestly dude, can't you count? You ought to be sent back to kindergarten!" "But Ma'am there are only 400 guests in the list," the waiter began, meekly. Kria's eyes sparkled in rage. "How dare you answer me back? I can get you fired right this second. I am excusing you just because you are my brother's favorite. Or else'.." She continued with her rant as the waiter tried to escape. "Oh hello, kahan jaa rahe ho? I have not finished!"
"You can finish it with me, beautiful!" A familiar voice called out from behind. Kria took a deep breath before turning around to face her best friend. One look at him made her heart skip a beat. He was looking steaming hawt in that black tuxedo. He moved closer to her until there were barely inches between their faces. She inhaled his musky cologne eagerly. A passer-by bumped into them, causing Kria to fall in Reyaansh's arms. She clutched his collar tightly. Reyaansh wrapped his arms around her slim waist securely, preventing her from colliding against the ground. Her warm hazel eyes pierced into his molten chocolate brown orbs. His eyes shifted to her outfit. She was wearing an aqua blue colored sexy sheath column one-shoulder knee length chiffon cocktail dress which clung to her curves perfectly, showing off her petite feminine figure. He mentally cursed himself for never noticing her flawless beauty before. His eyes lingered at her baby pink luscious lips adorned with strawberry flavored lip-gloss, wondering how they would feel against his. "So should we start?" Kria whispered. Reyaansh's eyes widened in horror. Was it possible that she had guessed his perverted thoughts? He straightened her up and looked at her questioningly. "You told me I could finish the lecture on you," Kria reminded him. Reyaansh felt disappointed for a moment. "I can suggest many more interesting things to do," he suggested with a flirty wink. Kria laughed, trying to ignore the butterflies in her stomach. "Like what? Can you order a drink for me?" Kria asked, fluttering her eyelashes innocently. "Sure, anything for you babes," Reyaansh answered. He called out to a nearby waiter. "Excuse me, one pineapple juice please." "Why do you think I'll order juice?" Kria asked, curiously. "Vodka, tequila jaise drinks Shanaya jaise log peete hain. Tere liye juice hi theek hain," Reyaansh replied. Enraged, Kria shouted at the waiter," Juice is boring. I'll have vodka shots. Bring two. One for me and one for him." Reyaansh arched a perfect eyebrow at her but didn't say anything. "Which type of vodka Ma'am?" the waiter asked, staring at Reyaansh's expression in amusement. "Balkan," Kria replied. "The strongest vodka in the world. 176 proof." "Have you done a PHD on vodkas?" Reyaansh asked in surprise. "Yeah, stole two bottles of the most expensive kind of vodka yesterday," Kria replied, nonchalantly. Reyaansh flashed a thumbs up sign in response.
The waiter placed two glasses of vodka shots in front of them. Kria gulped it down instantly, wincing at the taste. Reyaansh was about to comment on her expression but she hurriedly changed the topic. "I saw your latest movie. I really loved it." "Loved what? The movie or me?" Reyaansh asked, teasingly. "Both," Kria replied, blushing. Shanaya walked towards them, placing a kiss on Reyaansh's cheek. "Hi baby. Missed me?" she asked, throwing her arms around him dramatically. Reyaansh flinched at her touch, noticing the change in Kria's expression. Kria clenched her fists under the table, ignoring the stabbing pain. "Baby tell na!" Shanaya whined. Reyaansh did not take his eyes off Kria. Shanaya turned to Kria with a sly smile. "Kria do you like the ring?" she asked, cannily. "It's Reyaansh's choice. Poore 20 million dollar ki hain!" Kria pasted a fake smile on her face and nodded. She pulled her cell phone from her pocket and texted Swayam angrily. 'Time to put plan in action.' Her cell phone beeped immediately with Swayam's reply flashing across the screen. 'At your service sis.'
The lights went out at that very second, making the entire room pitch dark. "Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for the grand dance performance!" an anchor called out deafeningly. There was loud cheering and applauding from the crowd. "I'll be right back," Shanaya whispered in Reyaansh's ear. Reyaansh turned to address Kria but he noticed her slipping out of the room, behind Shanaya. He dismissed the matter from his mind and concentrated on watching the performers.
*AAAHHH* A loud scream interrupted the performance. "Somebody switch on the lights!" a man called out. Reyaansh noticed someone run through the corridor. The lights flashed on and one of the audience," OMG Shanaya, what happened?" Reyaansh forced himself to look away from the corridor at his fiance who was surrounded by her friends. He pushed his way through the crowd. Shanaya's face was pale with shock. Tears were streaming down her horrified face. "Why are you crying Shanaya?" Reyaansh asked, kneeling down beside her in concern. Shanaya held up her hand in answer. Her emptyhand. "My ring!" she choked out. "It's gone! Someone stole it!" "How do you know someone stole it?" Reyaansh questioned, hastily. "Maybe you just dropped it somewhere." "I am not some three year old kid Reyaansh!" Shanaya burst out in anger. "Someone bumped into me purposefully in the corridor. Someone was following me. And now my'.." Her voice trailed off and she started crying again. Her friends did their best to comfort her. Shanaya's words swirled in Reyaansh's mind. Somebody was following me.He remembered seeing Kria going out of the room behind Shanaya. Kria'who was a world-class thief. Kria'..who hated Shanaya. Kria'.his so called best friend. He felt a surge of anger and shouted," Kria!" Kria walked up towards him, bewildered at his anger. "What's wrong Rey?" "Don't call me that!" Reyaansh cried out, furiously. "You have no right!" "Tum chilla kyun rahe ho? Maine kiya kya hain?" Kria asked, feeling a bit irritated at being shouted at in public. "Kya kiya?" Reyaansh laughed humorlessly. "I can't believe you have the guts to ask that!" He indicated Shanaya's empty hand with his eyes. Kria stared at him incredulously. "How can you say that?!" she whispered in disbelief. "I thought you're my best friend." "I thought so too," Reyaansh said, trembling with rage. "I saw you follow Shanaya, Kria. And I know how much you hate her. Besides you're a'.." His voice trailed off. In spite of his anger, he wasn't gonna betray his best friend. Ex-bestfriend. "You and your brother'.you both are a pair of cheap, characterless'."
His voice was interrupted by a loud slap. Kria had slapped him hard across his cheek. "How could you!" Kria cried out at him. "You can say anything to me but I won't tolerate a word against my brother! I hate myself for considering you as my best friend! I thought you were different. But you're just like all the others. A materialistic, hypocritical jerk for whom money is more important than his friends. When you find out the truth, you're gonna regret every single word which you uttered right now." Saying this, she stomped out of the room, blinking back tears. Reyaansh stared after her in shock.
FLASHBACK OVER
Seeing the empty glass, Reyaansh again called out to a waiter who was hovering near the exit as if intending to walk out. "Excuse me!" The waiter turned around hesitantly. His eyes never left the ground. "Yes you!" Reyaansh called out in a slurred voice. "Get me another round of vodka shots! That too 'Balkan'. Cause that's herfavorite." The waiter said nothing. His face looked somewhat familiar. "What are you staring at? Hurry up!" Reyaansh snapped, irritatedly. The waiter scurried away hurriedly. Reyaansh looked at the empty vodka glass dreamily, pretending to imagine Kria's beautiful face in it.
The waiter came back with a tray, looking scared. Reyaansh stood up unsteadily, the impact of the strong alcohol causing him to collide against the waiter. The vodka glasses smashed against the floor, resulting in the pieces of glass to scatter everywhere. Reyaansh looked at the mess in distress. That's when he spotted something shining amongst the pieces. He bent down and saw that it was the ring! He picked it up in shock and looked at the waiter's horrified expression. He blinked twice and scrutinized the waiter's face carefully. "Shubhankar!" he exclaimed in astonishment. The waiter was none other than Shubhankar Kapoor, the owner of Vogue magazine for which Shanaya was currently shooting! Shubhankar tried to escape but bumped into someone. He found the police inspector glaring at him. Other two police officers walked into the room followed by a teary Shanaya. Shanaya let out a gasp on seeing Shubhankar and blurted out," What are you still doing here? You were supposed to escape from the back door!" At once that she realized what she had spoken. The police inspector looked back and forth at both of them. "So who's gonna start talking?" Shanaya folded her arms across her chest stubbornly. The inspector looked at Shubhankar. Mouthing a 'sorry' to Shanaya, Shubhankar began to tell the whole story.
'Shanaya and I have been in a relationship since three years. Fashion industry involves a lot of struggling. We both were desperate for money. And that's when Shanaya met Reyaansh. She pretended to be his girlfriend. She would secretly come and meet me. She would bring his credit card along. Then out of the blue, Reyaansh proposed Shanaya. When we saw the ring, we knew that it was the perfect solution for our financial problems. We had decided to sell the ring for money. I cut the power supply in the party so that Shanaya could slip out of the room and give the ring to me. The caterer girl was the only one who saw this but luckily, Reyaansh accused her which made this simpler for us. Today I disguised as a waiter and came to tell Shanaya that once the matter cooled down, Shanaya would break up with Reyaansh and we would elope. I shouldn't have brought the ring with me but I didn't know where to hide it. Rest you know.'
Shanaya was looking at her boyfriend in anger. She turned to Reyaansh pleadingly. "Baby he's lying! You know how much I love you!" Reyaansh shook his head at her in disgust. "I can't believe I accused Kria because of you." He turned to police inspector and nodded. "Arrest them. I never wanna see their faces again."
Kria was gazing into space distractedly. How could he say this to me? Am I really that bad? Cheap, characterless! Her cellphone beeped, interrupting her trail of thoughts. She rubbed the back of her palm against her puffy, bloodshot eyes and peered at the name on the caller-id. She sighed. Not him! She received the call. "I am telling you for the millionth time! I am FINE!" "Is it my fault that I love my sister so much?" Swayam asked. Kria sighed softly. "Maybe, Cause you're the only one who does." Swayam tried to comfort her. "I am sorry our plan of 'confessing your love to Rey' didn't work out. Everything went wrong. But I'm sure Reyaansh will regret his words. I know he loves you Kria. He just needs time to realize it." "I am tired of waiting now Swayam," Kria answered in a lifeless tone. "After all, what he said was true. I am cheap and characterless. Instead of using my brains in something worthwhile, I have become a thief. I have decided that we should give up stealing Swayam. We should focus on expanding our catering business instead. I am tired of this criminal life. I wanna make a fresh start. I wanna be deserving for someone like'.him." There was silence on the other before Swayam choked out with his voice thick with emotions. "I am proud of you sis." Kria smiled weakly. "So are you gonna tell the truth to your Rey?" Swayam continued. Kria scoffed emotionlessly. "First of all, it's not Rey. It's Reyaansh. And secondly, he's not my Rey. He's Shanaya's."
"No baby, I am all yours." Kria's eyes widened at the sound of his sexy voice. She turned around slowly and there he was, leaning against the door with his million-dollar smile. He fluttered his fingers at her casually. "Wassup baby!" "Don'tbaby me Reyaansh!" Kria snapped, angrily. "What the hell are you doing in my house? Arrest karne haye ho?" Reyaansh flinched but smoothened his face and replied," Haan tumhe arrest karke hamesha ke liye meri life mein rakhne aaya hoon." Kria rolled her eyes. "Your cheesy lines are not work this time." "Oh come on Kria. They always work. After all, I am THE Reyaansh Singhania!" Reyaansh answered with fake attitude. "You may be Reyaansh for everybody else! But for me you are just Rey!" Kria replied without a second thought. Reyaansh began to walk towards Kria. She began to take steps backwards. "So I heard you've given up stealing," he asked, piercing his eyes into hers. "Eavesdropper," she muttered under her breath. "But you've already stolen one very important thing which you haven't returned yet." Kria raised an eyebrow at him. "But don't worry. I am not gonna ask you to return it," Reyaansh continued, mysteriously. "And what's that?" Kria asked, annoyed. "You've stolen my heart Kria Ghai," he whispered, seductively. "And now it's my turn to steal yours." Kria started to melt but maintained her angry mask. "What about Shanaya? And the ring which I have stolen?!" Reyaansh looked guilty for a moment. "I am really sorry Kria. Shanaya stole the ring. For Shubhankar. Everything's just messed up. And I am all alone." He lowered his eyes miserably.
Kria reached out to cup his face in her hands. "You're never alone Rey. I am always with you." Reyaansh looked up into her warm eyes filled with love and passion for him. "And about my heart, you have already stolen it Reyaansh. You stole it the very first time I saw you." Reyaansh smiled at her, his eyes shining with joy. "I love you Kria. So very much," he whispered with sincerity burning in each word. "I love you too Rey," she answered, not taking his eyes off him. "Promise me you'll always trust me." Reyaansh caressed her cheek tenderly with his eyes burning with love. "I promise." And he took his lips into hers to seal the promise with a passionate kiss.
