CHAPTER 2

Khushi stood in front of the mirror and stared at herself. Her hair was a mess, lips swollen and red, numerous lovebites on her shoulders , on her whole body. Tear poured out of her eyes as she recalled what had happened. She gave herself to him, to the man who hate her. She's now a wife in this contract marriage.

'I'll abort the child.' Her own words echoed in her ears. Looking down , she placed her trembling hand on her belly."I can never kill you but i will not allow you to come in this world. This world will never let you live a respectfull life, being child of a mother like me. A woman who has lived with a man under 6 months contract marriage." More tears spilled out from her eyes as she sobbed at her helplessness."You will not come into life. I will protect you even when you are not here."

She took shower and got ready. As she entered the room, she met with an empty space. Arnav was not there. She expected this only but still it hurts to see him so uneffected.

Closing her eyes She took a deep breath, composing herself. She pulled out bedside table drawers and searched the thing she wanted but it wasn't there. She then checked the cupboard but it was also not there. But as she turned, she saw arnav talking on the phone and he had it in his hands.

Sliding the poolside doors, she strode towards him and heard him talking to a doctor. She paused momentarily as she realised that he even now didn't believed her when she showed the medicine that he needs to confirm it from the doctor. She left him stunned as she snatched it from his hand not giving him a glance and walked back to the room.

Arnav saw her filling the glass of water and rushed towards her. He reached just in time to stop her from taking the pill again as he threw it from her hand.

Swinging her to face him, he yelled at her face."Are you out of mind khushi!! What were you thinking..?? You already took a pill..then why again..!!??" She just stared at him, not giving him any response. "Why!!!???" He yelled, now furious at her.

"I don't want to give birth to a child who will be tagged as illegimate. It is better if he is not born and i am making sure of it. You can confirm this also from the doctor as you were confirming if the pills were contraceptive or not. " she spoke quietly with not a single emotion in her voice.

Arnav for the second time froze. She thought he was..bloody hell!! He took the pills and threw it in the dustbin. Grabbing her shoulders he spoke as calmly as he could."Khushi..that is not what you thought." He cupped her face in his palms tenderly."I was asking the doctor if this medicine is safe or not...or it has side effects or not and he confirmed that it has its side effects and should not be taken again. But you were taking it again not even 1 hour after you took the first pill."

He saw her in some thought and knew what she was thinking and the helpness he felt at the moment was eating him from inside. He can't even tell her that he love her , that their Child will not be illigemate , it will their baby, the symbol of their love. She will not believe in all these. He had seen in her eyes that she truely believe that he hate her and he is only one behind it.

'I will go to a doctor. There is no way i will let myself get pregnant.' khushi thought as she moved out of the room.

Arnav after taking the shower mover out of the room and saw her standing at the first step. But she got out of the room 20 minutes ago.

He frowned thinking what happened to her but the next second he got to know as he flinched when he saw her hissing in pain when she took next step down. Damn!! She is in pain and is not able to walk properly. Not wasting another second he strode towards and picked her up in his arms. Ignoring her protest he climbed down the remaining steps with her in his arms.

He setelled her on the couch gently. "Chote what happend to khushiji...??" He heard his sister's worried voice and felt khushi go stiff at her enquiry.

"Nothing di. She got sprain in the ankle." he answered and felt her relax a bit.

"Oh! Then i'll just massage her leg with warm oil." anjali said ready to order hp to warm the oil.

"Its ok di. I've already tried it but its not working. I guess i've to go to the doctor." khushi got the perfect opportunity to go to the doctor.

Arnav knew why she is saying that."Lets go. We'll go to the doctor." he said standing up , ready to pick her up.

"No. You don't have to arnavji. You need to go to office. I'll go alone." khushi protested.

"Ok." Not wanting to force he agreed."Let me drop you to the car." saying this he again picked her up and walked out of the house as the family members watched them and witnessed different side of arnav.

Arnav couldn't concentrate on anything. His mind was only on khushi. How will he make her believe that he love her. How ..??

As he entered the house in the evening, he found khushi sitting with other family members and was comparitively relieved from the morning. So she is sure that she will not get pregnant. Doctor must have confirmed it.

He stared at her for sometime and noticed that he had never seen her so defeated, not even when he forced her to marry him. He resisted the urge to beat himself for giving her so much pain.

Arnav watched as khushi made her bed at the poolside. As he admired her he couldn't help but thought that how wonderful mother she will be. She couldn't abort the child if she got pregnant but she didn't want the child to live a miserable life , so she made sure that she dosen't get pregnant. She protected the child even before it is conceived.

He waited till he saw her breathing evenly confirming that she is sleeping. He gently lifted her in his arms taking care not to wake her up.. He very carefully laid her on the bed and covered her with duvet. Walking to the other side of the bed he slide inside the duvet beside her. Bringing her closer to him ,he gathered her in his arms and burried his face in her hair.

"I love you.." he breathed and inhaling her scent drifted off to the most peaceful sleep he will ever had.
