Sunday morning.What's the big deal anyway!!As far Khushi concerned,everyday was sunday for her.Atleast for few more days.She was so thrilled by her vacation that she forgot it was her birthday today.She was in bed again lost in her dream world with Barun Sobti,doing Rabba Ve with him.Her ringing phone which had 'Rabba Ve sad version' ringtone,disturbed her sugar slumber at 7.30.
'Hey Devi Maiyya,can't they let me Rabba Ve with my Barunji in peace.'Khushi murmured in sleepy voice & answered the phone without looking at screen.
"Hello''
"Happy Birthday my sweet little pagal Khushi.''Payal screamed in phone.Khushi was wide awake by then with 3 perfect 'O's on her face.
"WHAT?It's my birthday Jiji?Hey Devi Maiyya,how I forgot my own birthday?I didn't even planned anything yet.''
"Whattt?You forgot YOUR birthday Khushi?''That was real shock for Payal.How come the queen of 'always seeks chance to celebrate',Miss Sankadevi forgot her own birthday.
"I can't believe this.Tu thik toh hai na Khushi?''Payal asked worriedly.
Now Khushi had no choice but to tell Payal everything.
"Woh actually Jiji,you know what happened...''And Kushi told Payal everything untill now,except the Rabba Ve moments between her & Arnav.
"Are you out of your mind?I don't call you pagal without any reason.Do you have any idea what you have done.What if Babuji come to know about this?You are really crazy Khushi.I'm done with you.''Payal burst on Khushi.
"Jiji...Jiji...please calm down.Just listen to me once.I'm perfectly fine here.Anjaliji is my friend & I'm very much comfortable in her house.And I'm completely able to take care of myself.No one can mess with Khushi Kumari Gupta,you know that Jiji,don't you?And one more thing,I'm sure you won't tell anything about this to Babuji,hai na?Promise me Jiji.''Khushi justified herself & blackmailed Payal.
"But Khushi...''
"Hum kuch nahi jante Jiji,promise me.It'll be my birthday gift from you.Please.''Khushi said pleadingly.
"Ok,Fine.''Payal sighed & gave in in front of her sister's crazyness.''But you have to promise me too that you'll take care of yourself & call me atleast 2 times a day.Ok.''
"Done.You are my sweet angel Jiji.''Khushi said brightly.
"Yeah yeah.I know that.Now I'm keeping.Amma Babuji will be calling you anytime.Take care of yourself & don't even dare to forget what I said.Ok.Bye.''Payal threatened Khushi.
"Bye Jiji.''Khushi said chirpily.
It was her birthday.She closed her eyes & folded her hands in prayer to Devi Maiyya.DM wished her birthday & blessed her with a Laad Governor & lotsa happyness.Khushi opened her eyes & her phone buzzed again.She answered the call literally hopping on bed.
"Hello.''
"Happy birthday Bitiya.May Devi Maiyya bless you with all the happiness in world.Our blessings are always with you.''Shashi Gupta wished his beloved daughter.
"Thank you Babuji.''
"Speak to your Amma.''
"Hello,Happy Birthday Khushi.Keep smiling all your life Bitiya.''Garima wished her with all the affection in world.
"Aww.You are so sweet Amma.Just like Jalebi.
"Talk to Jiji now.''Garima handed over the phone to Buaji.
"Ae Titaliya.Janam din mubarak ho Nand Kisore.Hamesa khus rahiyo.Kisi ki najar na lage humri Bhatiji ko.''Buaji said in her super sonic voice.
"Haye re nand kisore Buaji.Aapke hote huye hume kisiki nazar lag sakti hai kya.Jab hum Lucknow aayenge toh hume aapke haath ki bani rabdi aur aaloo poori chahiye Buaji.Don't forget.''
"Arey tum aao toh sahi Parmeswari.We miss you a lot.When are you coming to Lucknow?''Emotional Buaji asked.
"Very soon Buaji.''Saying Khushi ended the call.
She glanced at watch.8 AM.
'Hey Devi Maiyya I'm still in this night dress.It's my birthday.Tu bhi na Khushi.Apna hi janam din bhul gayi.'She blabbered to herself & hit her forehead in exasperation.Her mind started planning about how she'll spend her day.She was on her way to washroom when she heard the knock on door.She went to open the door expecting HP outside but instead got Laad Governor.
'What is he doing here'.Khushi thought in confusion.
'Marvelous'.Arnav thought lostly.The morning beauty clad in Vine night dress in front of him was just irresistible.'She's beautiful.'Arnav again got lost in her.His expressions changed again.Which increased Khushi's confusion some more.She coughed to bring him back to earth.Arnav came back to reality & stretched his hand which had an beautifuly wrapped box in it.
"Di had told me to give you this on her behalf as it's your...''Khushi didn't let him complete the sentence by snatching the box out of his hand.
"What the.''But she wasn't there to hear that.She was already on the bed & tearing the wrapping paper mercilessly.
"Unbelievable.''Expressions on Arnav's face were telling the tale.
"Hey Devi Maiyya,Anjaliji bought a gift for me.How sweet of her."She was about to open the box amidst her self chatter when her phone rang again.
"Hello Anjaliji.''
"Many many happy returns of the day Khushiji.May god bless you & you get all the happiness in world.''
"Thank you Anjaliji & thank you for the gift.''Khushi's happiness was dripping from each word she spoke.
"Ok!!So you got your gift already.You liked it Khushiji?''
"I'm yet to open it Anjaliji.Arnavji just gave it to me.''
"Well I'm sure you'll like it.Afterall its Chote's choice.''
"What!!"Khushi's jaws dropped in shock.
"Yes Khushiji.I told Chote yesterday to get you the gift.''Khushi wasn't listening anything by then.
"Are you there Khushiji?''Anjali brought her back to senses.
"y...yes Anjaliji.''Arnav was still standing at the bedroom door.She looked at him from corner of her eyes.
"One sec Khushiji.I think there is another call coming.I'll talk to you later.''
Khushi dropped the call & went over to Arnav with disbelief in her eyes.
"Aap...yeh...Anjaliji...''She was short of words.Arnav leant on the door relaxed & crossed his arms across chest.
"So,you turned exactly how much today?''He ignored her stammering & asked in amused tone.
"Don't you know it's bad manners to ask a girl's age.''She snapped at him.How dare he.
"Whatever.That doesn't really matter anyway.Because you never grew up.So forget it.''All this started irritating Khushi.
"Excuse me?Look Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada.I...''Her buzzing phone saved Arnav from her wrath.''I'll see you.''Khushi said furiously pointing her finger at him & stomped towards her phone.
Oh!!How he liked this fiesty tigress.Arnav smirked & left.
Khushi kept the phone after talking to Lavanya & found Arnav missing.She went to door & peeped out.The hallway was empty.She closed & locked the doors.Suddenly she remembered that Arnav did not wish her birthday.'What is his problem?Don't he know a simple word like Happy Birthday?Now I doubt about his English vocabulary.Hey Devi Maiyya why you let that Laad Governor meet me?'Khushi murmured biting her nails.'And what was that in his eyes?Yeh tu kya soche ja rahi hai Khushi'She patted her forehead & went to bathroom to take shower.She continued her planning for birthday mentally.But most of the time her mind was clouded with Arnav's thoughts.
Khushi took her own sweet time in shower humming Salman Khan's songs & after that in front of mirror to get ready.She kept her long clouds open to sway with gust of wind.She remembered Anjali's gift which was lying on bed waiting to be open.This time her emotions were different than the first time she had held that gift box.Then it was Anjali's gift but now it was Laad Governor's choice.She held the box like it was as fragile as glass.She forgot to even wonder,why she was behaving like this.She opened the box & a gasp escaped her mouth.It was an saree.An Red,elegant,exquisite,designer saree.His choice was undoubtedly the best.Khushi had had continued her task of admiring the saree for god knows how long,but her ringing phone brought her back from her admire world.It was Aman's call.She made a mental note to wear the saree in evening & kept it back carefully in box with a light blush.
She was smiling when she answered Aman's call.She was more happy now & it was evident in her voice.
"Hey KKG.Many many happy returns of the day.May your DM give you all the blessings & everything that you want in your life.''
"Thank you Aman Bhaiyya.''Khushi said chirpily.
"So tell me what do you want for your 22nd birthday kiddo?''Aman asked affectionately.
"Umm...let me think...ok...but you have to promose to give my gift at any cost.''Khushi said michievously.
"Ok promise.''
"I want a Bhabhi & I don't want to listen any of your excuses or 'love at 1st sight theories'.Got that.''Khushi demanded & threatened Aman.
"You'll never change,would you?Fine ,I'll think over your gift.Ok.Now you enjoy your day & take care of yourself.I'm keeping.If anything bothers you call me immediately.ok.Bye.''Aman decided to seriously think on Khushi's gift & kept the call.
Khushi decided this birthday will be her bestest birthdays ever.But instead of thinking about herself why she was thinking about him & that Red saree.Khushi pondered on this but couldn't conclude anything.May be she was overthinking.Least did she knew that Devi Maiyya was providing her hints.Hints that her Dhak Dhak was not because of some heart problem.Hint that she must follow her heart.Hint that she was falling in love.
