Part 4:

He immediately dialled Shree's number "Shree, iss city ke saare female investigative journalists ka ek list banao...haan jo magazines and newspapers mein hai aur jo free lance work karthe hai...sab ke naam aur patha nikhaalo...haan jaldi!"

Once he cuts the phone, he tells to himself "tum mujhe isi list mein se milogi Miss wrong number...I am sure!"

So Mr ACP is one step closer to finding Miss wrong number...

Shree is at his desk and is in his complaining mode..."kya museebat hai yaar?? Ghar keliye nikhal hi raha tha ke Arjun sir ke orr se ek kaam muft mein mil gaya.."

Chotu grinned as he sat near him..."muft mein kaam??? Woh kya hota hai?"

Shree: arre yaar...yeh koyi case se related kaam nahi...na jaane Arjun sir ko achaanak journalists, woh bhi crime journalists...woh bhi female crime journalists mein kya interest hogayi...sab ki ek list maanga hai...

Chotu: Arjun sir ke mann mein kya chal raha hai woh kisi ko patha nahi chaltha...kya patha yeh bhi kisi case keliye hi ho...

Shree: [a bit annoyed] kaunsa case? Ab bhi uss wrong number ladki ka kuch patha nahi...usske beech mein yeh list...ufff!

Aisha: [breaking into their chit chat] uss ladki ko dhoondne ki hi khoshish hai Shree...I am sure Arjun sir ko kuch na kuch clue mili hai...isiliye aisi list maangi hai...

Shree looks to Aisha's direction...She seemed pretty sure of what she said...before he could respond, Shree's phone rang...

Arjun sir's call again...he picked it up shaking his head in frustration "hello Arjun sir...haan sir..." [Looks at Aisha and Chotu while hearing from the other side] ok sir..."

He cuts the call and looks at Aisha and Chotu again "unne unmarried female investigative journalist chahiye...[pauses and corrects himself when he earns glares from the other two] matlab unnke list chahiye..."

Chotu voices out "kahi Arjun sir shaadi ke baare mein toh nahi soch rahe hai?"

Aisha couldn't help laughing "tum dono na impossible ho! Agar Arjun sir ko patha chala toh tum dono ko acche se samjhaayenge..."

Shree: naa baba naa...mujhe unnse kuch nahi samajhna... let me get back to work...tum log bhi jaao...kaam karo...

Aisha grins "thats better..."

All get back to work!

Next morning...

They have planned an undercover operation to crack the Mall case!

According to miss wrong number's mail, there are lots of illegal activities from buying and selling of stolen goods especially expensive and antique jewellery to drug marketing...

But they don't want to conduct a raid and end up messing the whole thing up...They want to get hold of solid proof before taking that extreme step!

At the ETF conference table...

Sameer: team...hum tab tak koyi action nahi lenge jab tak humein wahaan kuch solid proof nahi miltha...

They plan each of their roles appropriately...

Sameer and Aisha go to the jewellery shop which is under the scanner according to the information in the mail...They pose as soon to be married couple who are on the lookout for the best of designs for their high profile wedding...Chotu accompanies them as Aisha's big brother...

Shree and Liza go in as college students and take their places in a cafe which happens to be in a phase where there are a lot of vacant and closed down stores...a good hideout for illegal happenings!

Arjun pretends to be a random shopper who keeps doing rounds of the entire mall area searching for that particular shop which would deal with drugs...

The mall was a huge one with different phases...And the mail indicated that the shop which deals with drugs is not a fixed one...it keeps changing every day just to avoid suspicions...So it was next to impossible to track down which shop it was that day owing to the huge size of the mall...

Arjun stamped his foot in anger not able to find the exact one...but he didn't let his cool because if he did that, he would invite unnecessary attention...so he controlled himself and walked around casually!

Jewellery store...

A wide range of jewellery is placed before them...all exquisite and new ones

Sam: kuch bhi select karlo darling...you should just sparkle in the wedding...

Aisha: [crinkling her face a bit showing disapproval] na ji na...aise pieces toh mere paas bohat hai...mujhe kuch aur chahiye...woh kya kehthe hai...raja maharani jaisa kuch...

The sales man enquires "antique types??"

Aisha's eyes lightens up and she poses to be happy "haan wahi waala antique waala...aisa kuch dikhaavo"

Sam: haan haan wahi dikhaa dho...ek dum princess jaisi dikhni chahiye humaara dulhan! [Smiles cheekily at Aisha who poses to blush and smiles back]

Sales man speaks up "sir aapka budget..."

Sameer snaps him short "budget ko chodo...bas ek dum mast cheez dikhaavo.."

Chotu controls his laugh seeing all these acts and turns away to scan the rest of the shop...

ETF had already done a background research of stolen jewellery and old antique and ethnic pieces and just one hint to it was enough proof to raid the shop and seal it!

On the other side...Shree sat sipping his 3^rd coffee...Liza was happily digging into her favourite black forest pastry...Shree had politely refused a bite from it...So she didn't show any more formality and never bothered to ask again!...

All that aside, they were in their ever bickering mode...

Liza: [finishing the last bit, she spoke] specky, kya tumhe lagtha hai ke yeh mission successful hoga?

Shree glares at her for a moment...while she adds "oops specky, stop it dude...mujhe jalaakhe maar daaloge kya?? Ek simple doubt hi toh poocha na?"

Shree: [in an uninterested tone] tum yeh saare doubts Arjun sir ya Rathod sir se kyun nahi poochthi?? Aise samjhaathe ke koyi shaq ke ghunjaayish hi nahi bachtha...

Liza: [giving him a fake smile] haan agar main unnse sahi salaamath bacch gayi tho...waise ek baat poochum?

Shree: agar naah bola toh tum chup rahogi??

Liza: [grinning] nahi...

Shree: phir permission kyun pooch rahi ho?

Liza: [grinning] tum mujhe maar daalne ke saazish mein kyun lage ho specky? Main seedhi saadhi boli baali ladki...tumhe mujhse kya problem hai?

Shree: [raising his eyebrows] seedhi saadhi...boli baali???...are you sure tum apne baare mein hi baat kar rahe ho? [pausing for a moment] Waise mujhe tumse nahi...tumhe mujhse problem hai Liza...humesha mera mazaag banaakhe rakhthi ho!

Liza: [casually placing her hand on his] relax specky...tum toh bhura maan gaye...friends ke saat hi toh mazaag masti kar sakthi hoom na?

"Friends" that word caught both off guard...of course they were friends but to the extent of what? Bickering, making fun of each other, there was no limit to their fights...it was as if they could say anything and everything to each other and yet pulling along together...hurling insults on each other, hating each other were all trademarks of their unique friendship! Sky was definitely the limit to that uniqueness!

Shree snaps out suddenly and pulls back his hand voicing out "hum friends nahi dushman hai dushman...forever!"

Liza couldn't stop her laugh when he said that...

On another phase of the mall, Arjun desperately walked around...the team was in constant touch with each other in order to know if any of them spotted anything unusual and strange...

He was just outside a designer clothing store and was swiftly walking towards the far end of the same floor when a girl in pardha bumped into him and she lost balance in the impact and he had to catch her to prevent her from falling...only her eyes were seen from behind that veil...their eyes met for a second...but both snapped out quickly...

Though he was frustrated by the waste of time, he steadied her and helped picking the bags she had dropped..."aap teek hai na madam??"

She just nodded with her eyes and head lowered focussing on gathering her bags...

She quickly picked all her things and muttered a soft apology and thanks before sprinting out of his vicinity...

He was just about to turn away to the opposite direction when he got a call from the unknown number...he picked it up quickly "hello..."

The soft voice replied back "Dont get so tensed Mr Arjun...woh shop isi phase ke left side mein hai...shop number D 243...bye"

Arjun turned around to look for the girl in pardha but she had disappeared into thin air...something told him that she was the girl...Miss wrong number...

But he had more urgent things to do rather than going behind her...So he summoned the team and rushed to the shop...he also sent Liza in search of the girl in pardha...and asked Shree to start tracking her phone as well..."woh yahi kahi hai...hum pe nazar rakh rahi hai...Liza dhoondo usse..."

The shop was raided and all drugs and few of the dealers are caught red handed...

Meanwhile the jewellery is also searched after Rathod and Aisha spot an old jewel set which had gone missing from a set of temple jewellery during an exhibition almost a year back...

All the stolen goods are seized and the store is sealed!

Once the operation is done, the investigation starts for hunting down the real people behind all this...An open enquiry is called for now as they had ample proof for illegal activities going on there...The mall's owners who happen to be brothers and cousins who are equal partners in the joint venture are also summoned for interrogation...

Liza comes back empty handed as she couldn't get even a trace of the girl in pardha...

That night...back in ETF...

Arjun's phone rings at about the same time as always...He picks it up...

Voice: hello...congrats ACP sir! TV channels pe toh already hai...ab kal ke newspapers mein bhi ETF chaah jaayega!

Arjun: [sarcastically] all because of you Miss wrong number or should I say...the mystery girl in pardha!

Voice: [grinning] so you found out? Impressive, very impressive!

Arjun: tumhe kya laga...apna mooh chupaake saamne aavogi toh mujhe patha nahi chalega...

Voice: oh come on Arjun...why don't you accept defeat once? You found out just because I called you to help you...itna desperate aur helpless lag rahe teh, toh socha kyun na call karke shop ke details deh dhoom!

Arjun: tum help nahi karthi tab bhi hum unn sab ko arrest kar lethe...

Voice: Only in your dreams ACP...[pausing and both are silent...she breaks the silence and speaks up]...Anyways, kaun kiska help kiya ya na kiya...all thats not important...gunehgaaron ko sazaa milni chahiye...bas yahi chahthi hoom...

Arjun: nhek kaam kar rahi ho...isiliye thoda soft hoom...warna no one dares to play with ETF! [As if warning her] or rather we don't allow anyone to play with us!

Voice: [sarcastically] aah aah...hide and seek game toh shuru kardiya hai humne...lets see...

Arjun: beshaq shuru toh tumne karli hai...ab khatam main karunga...

Voice: I am waiting! Byeee

[The line goes dead...Arjun keeps the phone and glances at the list on the table which Shree had prepared]
